Mallika Sarabhai "Savitri" Auroville 2008

Excerpts from a performance by Mallika Sarabhai in Auroville, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of its inauguration, in 2008.
The video had been available only as a DVD, not being UA-cam active at the time.
Now, re-mastered, is finally uploaded for the public, in 2024.
Mallika Sarabhai is an accomplished Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam dancer and performer who has specialized in using the arts for social change and transformation. At the time she was a member of the Governing Board of the Auroville Foundation, and this was her homage to Sri Aurobindo, through a dance interpretation of some passages of the epic poem Savitri.
