I had to sell my collection when my brother got really sick,he's passed on now,but I did everything I could to help him go out happy,it that's possible..I had 648,not counting the 48 baf's..
Since he passed,I started up collecting WWE figs, that's what he loved, and I was able to keep his collection of over 1000....We used to watch Wrestling every Saturday when we was kids,I'd do anything to have him here for one more Wrestling match.. That collection could take months worth of full days listing on eBay. And then there’s eBay’s 13.25% fee on the TOTAL SALE which includes taxes and shipping. Not to mention the packaging materials (boxes tape bubble wrap etc) and the trips to the post office. Speaking from experience that collection could easily take a year or more to sell online as a part time job.

Best part of Saturday morning. When you guys get all the shop finished, are you going to have people like in another room doing all these trades instead of in the middle of the floor? I think that would be ideal. Have some table set up where everyone can sit down and you guys can look at the figures instead of sitting on the floor.

I used to own my own Comic Book Store, not in business anymore, the closest I ever got to a really good deal was when the Media Chain Hastings went out of business. They called me up and offered me a 1 hour headstart on their 'Going Out of Business Sale'. I get there and they offer me a further deal if I will buy all the Female DC! I ended up with close to 50 Figures for like $100. I had many of these characters, but not these particular variants; Arrowverse, Elseworlds, Wonder Woman Movie, New 52, etc. I had enough to start another Earth, one based on the Created Equal Graphic Novel.

Used to have a store like yours back in the 90s (was one of the few around) did well for a while and most of all I enjoyed it . However when I started to notice more and more people coming in to sell and less people coming in to buy I could see that was a sign.

Did you stay in the business long after that? Did those signs turn out to be accurate, from what you know? Might be hard to say if you sold up.

Great video. I like the interaction with the seller and Brian. Honestly, did the collector enjoyed buying, collecting and displaying. Yes he did. You don’t buy to resell, a person collects because they enjoy it and the memories of it. Thank you Toy Federation.

Yeah we have useless smyths here and some smaller but more expensive comic stores😭
I asked 1 clueless smyths drone worker if they had any other vintage collection in the back as there was only a few figures on the pegs
He said we only sell modern toys🤦🤔...🫨💥🤛
      What an idiot😂

Just curious if you have a channel where we can watch all the toy ads that you have playing on the tv in the store? I could just watch those to relive my youth. Great video as always!

Got rid of it all tho, that’s what he was hoping for. It’s a win for him to empty out like that in one shot. Otherwise it would take years to sell all of that

You can buy heat shrink bands to put on the loose car cases. A little bit of labor, but it lets you display without having cases scattered all over your store. Less labor and cost than sealing and shrinking a full bag.

I sold ny legends collection a couple years back for about 4k. After that I never got to attached to my collections. Whenever I have too many I just sell them off and start over again.

it must get weird to be among so many collectibles you must at some point lose perspective and feel like its normal because every tiny river source turns into a river focal point of stuff
