So killing the queen made the minions stop being living things? It doesn't make sense. They are operating like bees, ants. Killing the queen shouldn't be able to stop the swarm but rather leaderless and aimless after the queen dies. Plot convenience of these movies is so dumb. They are not droids from Star Wars.

However in this case, they all stop functioning (not die) because they receive orders from the queen, and since the queen is dead there’s no more orders, which means they just stop functioning.
