It is amazing to think of our ancestors living in caves like that. A beautiful little hike and site of the hill fort, too. It is always great to see something new when out and about. You can't beat a nice Trig Point. It is nice to get out even if it's for a short wander. Thanks for sharing, Patrick. Spectacular view point.
Yes the caves have a great history. There was enough to see on this short hike, so nothing lost despite the weather at the time. Seven Sisters Rocks give a wonderful view over the Wye. Thanks Chris for watching and commenting, and for all your continued support. All the best 👍
This is a spectacular area, Patrick. The caves are remarkable to visit, there's many in that complex, and they are of historical significance with previous occupance. The hill fort is amazing, and the views over towards the Wye Valley and Forest Of Dean are fantastic. Many thanks for this showing, Patrick.
Thanks Ffranc. Despite shortening the planned walk due to the, I'm pleased with what I managed to film this day especially the caves and the fort. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching 👍
Very enjoyable watch - every minute of it. It's what you experience and see on a walk that is what makes it a good one, not how far it is. I certainly agree with that Patrick.
Thanks Michael. There was certainly a lot to see in this short walk, so it was indeed a good one without the need of more mileage. Thanks as always for watching, all the best 👍
Hello Patrick , thank you lovely video , it takes me back many years the last time I was at the caves i was in my teens , its hard to beat The Wye Valley .
Hi Patrick glad to see you did not bump your head at start of video ! 🤣 King Arthur's cave looks interesting time flies Patrick ( 24 yrs ) ! what a wonderful walk enjoyed the the experience watching it and some fantastic views thanks Patrick ! 😎👍Give us shout some time Patrick hope we will be back to peak district soon.
Thanks Russ, yeah thankfully no bumping in this one! 😁 There's lots to see at the cave indeed and the rocks give those amazing views. I did give you a shout out in one of my Chatsworth videos. All the best 👍
The new microphone stood up well in those winds. It was loud and clear. Seven Sister's Rock had great views of the Wye. You could tell it had been raining by the flow of the river. It may have been a short walk but it was really great. Such a vast area to explore there. You could never get bored. I understand why you love it so much. Caves everywhere on that walk. I couldn't imagine stumbling upon King Arthur's Cave in the past and getting savaged by all kinds of things including a rhino. They would be my kind of luck. Ancient hill forts on the highest peak for safety. We have such rich history here. Hope you've recovered from your recent venture back there Patrick and thanks once again 😊
I'm very pleased with the new mic as the wind is the worst enemy when filming outdoors, and this seems to shield the sound from the wind pretty well so far. I think it was raining when I woke up this particular morning, so I hung on a bit to see if it got dryer. In the end, when I went out to film, I cut the walk down and it worked out ok in the end. Always liked King Arthur's Cave and the history of it, the idea of a rhino is quite bizaar really 😁 Yes I returned last weekend from another visit to the area, although I stayed elsewhere on this occasion - that will be revealed in a future film. Thanks as always Kelly for watching and for your great comments. All the best 👍
Another gem, Patrick. You've inspired me to make a visit to the area en route from Cheshire to the Beacons later this year, so thanks for the walks, views and content! Great stuff!
Those caves in Doward look interesting, and King Arthur's Cave certainly historic. The tunnels looked so intricate. Loved the melodic theme to your music so pleasant on the ear complimented by the violins/guitars. Agree about not necessarily doing a long walk to enjoy it. All the best Patrick.🙂
Hi Shanita, the caves are amazing, so many of them in that small area and seem to be quite deep too. Glad you enjoyed my music again, thank you for that. It's another updated version of a theme originally used in a very early film when I was in this area at that time. Thanks for watching and commenting, all the best 👍
Many thanks John. Yes I could have actually used the torch on my phone, but didn't think about it at the time. Anyway thanks for watching and commenting, all the best 👍
Hi Patrick , nice to see you back in the wye valley and the Forest of Dean , being a Tintern boy its nice to see you show case out beautiful area . Cheers Mike Higgins
Fabulous as always . Was that way a few weeks ago . Walked from monmouth to the biblens bridge over and back around to monmouth from the other side . Love seeing your walks given me some ideas. I'm looking forward to the other adventures. Thank you, Patrick
Hi Patrick, the music throughout your video was so very beautiful!!! i always learn something new when i watch your videos, i never heard of king Arthur's cave. So interesting to find caves on a walk! Ps loved your country bumpkin accent you did lol. I was just reading a book when i saw your vlog, the book was rather apt as its title was The wood by John Lewis- stempel😊 so little Doward woods was in contrast to what i was reading.. lovely! Thanks for sharing so enjoyable, your little furry windshield certainly worked on the sound quality.
So glad you enjoyed it Anna 😀 The music is a new version of a soundtrack I composed for a much earlier film when I was also in this area at the time. The caves are amazing to see. I'm glad the windshield on my mic seems to be doing the job when it gets windy, worth the purchase! Thanks Anna for your kind contribution again and for all your continued support. All the best 👍
