Melt palettes are magnetic so you should just be able to pop out the shades you love from the old palette, I use a little magnet but you may also be able to get a small tool between the pan and the cardboard to pop them out! 😊
Well good, god, dang! Who knew?!?!? I just went and checked all of my 10 pan palettes and the Impulse palette ~~ sweet! All magnetic except the Twenty Seven. Now I know why I read the comments!! Thank you Terri.
Melt palettes are magnetic so they are super easy to depot. I have a magnetic tool that I use but you should be able to slide a thin depotting tool or sewing needle along the edge and pop them out.
Thanks Linda for doing the comparison- I’ve been waiting for someone to do so. I wasn’t into makeup until 2019 so missed out on the first release but the palette has been on my Sephora wish list for a while now. I too am on a low buy but I did allow myself 2 extra palettes for my birthday which just passed so have been strongly debating the newly packaged Gemini as I too love the color story. Amy of Amy Loves Makeup have some good comparisons to other green palettes but I only own one of those (Dose of Colors Cutting Edge) and it has same problem as original Gemini formula in my opinion- great mattes, not so great shimmers. Also thought about the Ace Beaute Tropical Vibes but the sale at Melt may sway me- decisions, decisions- as one of my low buy rules is the palette has to be on sale (also has to have been on my wish list, so no impulse purchases, and I have to have researched and watch reviews re: quality).I think this is ticking all boxes!

The melt pans are removable magnetic ones so no need to depot them. They remove real easy with a removal tool or a Bobby pin etc. You can mix and match your melt shades like you can do with Natasha denona ones too. :)

I bought the two palette bundle and was underwhelmed opening them, but when I put them on my eyes I was amazed and how stunning these shadows are. I have the Rust palette and don’t love it, but I love green and pink shadows with my brown eyes. So glad they brought this back and it’s even better!! This color story is absolutely a perfect match with your hair color!!! I wish I could pull off that shade of red. I’ve gotten every Melt palette other than the Beetlejuice collection and even have all of their stacks still. I’ve had the original reformulated palette but I sure did grab one of the new ones along with 2 of the gemini II palette. I was even considering grabbing 2 more durning the Black Friday/cyber Monday sale because it was $55 I believe for both palettes. I have all of their gel liners but the grungy green one and I want that liner more than anything.

It's been awhile since I touched her~~ she is front and center for tomorrow morning ~~ So agree with you Linda ~~get the new G1 if you have the OG of OGs in the G1 palette or if the G1 is your gut punch of a color story. ....and dude, I am so back tomorrow to watch your G2 vid ♥!!!! ~~~you so know I already have it on order, low buy be damned~~ in my basket as soon as I laid eyes upon it. ~~the only rosy, mauve, dirty ( well none of them are dirty, except the G2) long stem rose palette I want of all the rose, mauve, bright, springy palettes released as of late. ~~the top notes & middle notes of those rose palettes are lovely but~~I want the aftermath ~~ the dry down, the dirt, the skinned knee ~~ fresh petals, dried blood, fading stem, the back bone of the rose.

Black eye shadow doesn't freak me out, blue does. The first time I tried a monochromatic blue look I was like, "Omg, that is on my eye. What do I do now?" It looked crazy until I finished.
I love your Videos 💟. I have 2 Geminis the old one first batch, the reformulated one (as a backup) 🤣 and next the new Gemini and Gemini 2. I'm thinking of retiring the first one because it's getting old and the shimmers getting very dry and I don't need 3 😁 but it's hard to give it up 😅 I wouldn't depot the old one because the first batch isn't magnetic and its very fragile. 😀

I have just recently bought the Melt Gemini (old packaging) from a site similar to Mercari for 15 €, i had to declutter my first Gemini because of exploding shimmers and then a few of the shades developed hard pan and became patchy on the eye. I missed the grungy goodness and went hunting for a copy ( all before the info that it would be released) i still love it and for some reason the shade Gemini performs diffrrently than the one i originally had and the mattes are soooo buttery. I may pick up the new version if it sticks around til the end of the year- because im on a low buy and trying to appreciate what i have! Love the look you done it gavr me all the feels
Dude, I've been subscribed to you forever because of all of the peeps who recommend you but you never show up in my feed, so I've not watched much. Haha! Not so anymore bad algorithms. The would I repurchase them again appeared and down the rabbit hole I go. This is the EXACT video I wanted because I was always sad I missed Gemini and She's in Parties is one of my absolute faves. And after the last video about the dirtiest, dirtiest shadow in Hela (a personal favorite) and Sunset, I was hooked. So since I can't sleep but am not ready to get up and work, I'm going to binge.
I didn’t buy because I have the flower punk palette from Kaleidos and give me glow juicy olive. I’m going to buy the original Gemini next sale they have. Grungy, dirty greens are my fav colours.
Funny how you mention the green on original Gemini was bad because applied wet it was beautiful. It wasn’t bad even dry, however it’s that gold on the other side that was soo crumby and wet or dry I couldn’t work with it but the swatch was pretty.
It's so strange because my green was always awful - wet, dry, on glitter glue, etc. But I'm so glad this newer version is better for me personally, because it's one of my fave shades!

The color story is epic but I’ve held back because of the “issues” with puffy, moldy, exploding shades - hoping for a reformulation. When Gemini 2 was announced and the bundle revealed i immediately convinced myself that I needed both palettes immediately. I held back waiting for the reviews to roll in for both palettes and to see how I felt after the initial excitement simmered down. This video with your love for, enthusiasm for, and glowing first impression of the reformulated palette helped me to decide to pick up the original Gemini from Sephora (to take the points with 15% off and because I’m in Canada and hate paying for and waiting for international shipping) today as my last Spring Savings event purchase. It’ll be in my hands on Thursday. I’ll probably pick up Gemini 2 later this year but for now I know that the original is the one for me right now. I really wasn’t planning on doing the sale this year. However since decluttering my entire collection I’ve wanted to rebuild with things that genuinely excite me. Things I will actually use& not purchase because the hype. This pallet since it launched has been a wish list item for me. This pallet was honestly felt the absolute best in the whole of Sephora. I tested the pat mcgrath holiday pallet, Hudas new pallet (which the gold sparkle felt similar, but that was it, Natasha Denona, ABH-which I did snag the subculture pallet @ Marshall’s so I’m a little cautious with that, but melt just hit differently. The smooth buttery feel just- uugghhh it gets me. I don’t love that I feel limited with my options of looks- but the funny thing is…I DONT EVEN DO THAT MANY VARIATIONS OF LOOKS. 😅 & I do love the story& have for years. I also splurged and got the house labs foundation& brush& an ilia concealer. I filled the holes in my collection& should be good for the next year. I’m sorry it’s so long& rambly, I don’t have any irl makeup besties& I just love this space you’ve created.
I had the original Gemini and I hated the shimmers. I never bought anything from them again until recently I got a mystery box and got the blueprint palette. I've been really considering getting this one now
The shimmers are DRASTICALLY different, in my opinion. While I loved the OG Gemini, I never really got to work with the shade Gemini as it fell out, and Goalz shattered almost instantly. The formula in the new one is a million times better.
This eye look 🤩 My Gemini bundle arrived today and I've already pulled out my other Melt palettes to see what I'll be pairing. I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about frankenpaletting them.

I have been waiting for this video! I was pretty sure the formulas for the shimmers would be different and sure enough. I’m glad but also bummed, I have the original but can’t justify the cost for just 2 shades. I actually just bought a single shadow from Terra Moons to act as a replacement shade for Gemini, it’s a multichrome so not a direct replacement. Can’t wait to see the next review! (Also, your review of the cream blushlights was so helpful, I purchased Honey Thief in the Sephora sale!)
I want both palettes so bad! Even at 20% off it’s $80+ I can’t afford it right now 😭 I’m trying to get rid of my credit card debt and I have to save for a wedding in Disney World at the end of the year. It’s killing me not to buy all the makeup I want. I hate being on a low buy 🤣😂😂
If I weren't in Scottish penny pinch mode at the moment, I'd be very tempted to snag Gemini I. But when I'm honest with myself, I know I have it between colourpop singles and pallettes I've depotted, along with my too large collection of Sydney Grace singles, which include a bunch of greens they had in bundles and have since discontinued. I have these colors and I use my singles all the time. I make my own palettes from them super often. But damn, just the artwork alone makes me want this one. Which feels dumb. 😁

I’m kicking myself for not getting the new Gemini in the new packaging! I have the older one. I bought it last time it was in stock. I picked up the new sister Gemini ♊️ and I also picked up the liner in onyx. My shadows haven’t crumbled or anything in the Gemini palette but in the She’s in Parties palette my cream shade looks like it exploded. When I first used it, the shadow came off in layers, it was weird, then after sitting in my drawer for a little bit, I opened the palette and that shade exploded. It is so weird… anyway I love the look you created!
If your OG Gemini palette didn’t crumble and it’s in good shape, you’re TOTALLY fine not getting the new one! That sucks so bad about She’s in Parties though. 😫
I like how much you love Melt! I’ve never been moved by the color stories but the original Gemini has caught my eye this time around. My only hesitation is that the green side is reminiscent of the Kaleidos Flower Punk palette

That's the best feeling! It's often the other way around - that a reformulated version ends up being disappointing. How delightful that's not the case with your tippy top favourite palette! Just subed to your channel. I got Gemini over the weekend. Used all the mattes with PML Subversive Skin Show in the inner corner, Gigabyte and ND Triochrome Scarab in the eyelid. Really enjoyed using it.

Hmm. I don't have ND Metropolis, but I do have Kaleidos Flower Punk and Oden's Eye x Angie, and I think that this color story stands on its own from them. While Kaleidos and OE both have some grungy tones, they also brighten things up with the pinks and vibrant greens or blues. This is a PURE grunge palette. All slightly dirty tones, which I ADORE.

I kind of can’t compare the two since they’re SO different. It just depends on whether you’re more into rosy, grungy looks or green/brown, grungy looks.
"NEED"? Not at all. At the end of the day, no one needs makeup. 😘 But if you think it's something that would bring you joy, I can definitely speak to the quality of the palette and say that the color story is a good one!

Now I realize this is kinda one of my main color stories in the colors I gravitate to in eyeshadow and clothing.... 💚💛🖤🤎🧡I just don't have these colors in one palette. 🤔⚖️📊 Hmmm.... @@GlitterFallout So I ended up getting it last month and I LOVE IT!!! 💛💚🤎🖤💛💚 I couldn't see the undertones clearly until I got this in person, but all of the neutrals and greens in this palette have a noticeable yellow undertone, which makes it super perfect for me. I only recently realized my undertone is not just warm, but specifically yellow. So many warm shadows and foundations look orange on me and pink shadows look more reddish, but peaches, corals, and yellows blend more naturally w my skintone. So when I saw it in person and tried the neutrals shades, they blended so well on my skin tone!!

I have totally been on a “no buy” this year and I did cave once already and bought the “Lethal cosmetics nightflower palette” and now I’m really wanting to buy this one because I always wanted the original Gemini palette. I wanted several other pallets… But I’ve refrained and don’t refer it… But I just feel like I’m going to regret not buying this if it sells out. Uggh!!!

I have just recently bought the Melt Gemini (old packaging) from a site similar to Mercari for 15 €, i had to declutter my first Gemini because of exploding shimmers and then a few of the shades developed hard pan and became patchy on the eye. I missed the grungy goodness and went hunting for a copy ( all before the info that it would be released) i still love it and for some reason the shade Gemini performs diffrrently than the one i originally had and the mattes are soooo buttery. I may pick up the new version if it sticks around til the end of the year- because im on a low buy and trying to appreciate what i have! Love the look you done it gavr me all the feels

The would I repurchase them again appeared and down the rabbit hole I go. This is the EXACT video I wanted because I was always sad I missed Gemini and She's in Parties is one of my absolute faves. And after the last video about the dirtiest, dirtiest shadow in Hela (a personal favorite) and Sunset, I was hooked. So since I can't sleep but am not ready to get up and work, I'm going to binge.

I didn’t buy because I have the flower punk palette from Kaleidos and give me glow juicy olive. I’m going to buy the original Gemini next sale they have. Grungy, dirty greens are my fav colours.

Funny how you mention the green on original Gemini was bad because applied wet it was beautiful. It wasn’t bad even dry, however it’s that gold on the other side that was soo crumby and wet or dry I couldn’t work with it but the swatch was pretty.
It's so strange because my green was always awful - wet, dry, on glitter glue, etc. But I'm so glad this newer version is better for me personally, because it's one of my fave shades!

Gemini (original) has been on my wish list for a while now. The color story is epic but I’ve held back because of the “issues” with puffy, moldy, exploding shades - hoping for a reformulation. When Gemini 2 was announced and the bundle revealed i immediately convinced myself that I needed both palettes immediately. I held back waiting for the reviews to roll in for both palettes and to see how I felt after the initial excitement simmered down. This video with your love for, enthusiasm for, and glowing first impression of the reformulated palette helped me to decide to pick up the original Gemini from Sephora (to take the points with 15% off and because I’m in Canada and hate paying for and waiting for international shipping) today as my last Spring Savings event purchase. It’ll be in my hands on Thursday. I’ll probably pick up Gemini 2 later this year but for now I know that the original is the one for me right now. I’m so excited to finally get my hands on an issue-free Gemini that’ll perform as it was always intended to. Again, thank you so much!!

I really wasn’t planning on doing the sale this year. However since decluttering my entire collection I’ve wanted to rebuild with things that genuinely excite me. Things I will actually use& not purchase because the hype. This pallet since it launched has been a wish list item for me. This pallet was honestly felt the absolute best in the whole of Sephora. I tested the pat mcgrath holiday pallet, Hudas new pallet (which the gold sparkle felt similar, but that was it, Natasha Denona, ABH-which I did snag the subculture pallet @ Marshall’s so I’m a little cautious with that, but melt just hit differently. The smooth buttery feel just- uugghhh it gets me. I don’t love that I feel limited with my options of looks- but the funny thing is…I DONT EVEN DO THAT MANY VARIATIONS OF LOOKS. 😅 & I do love the story& have for years. I also splurged and got the house labs foundation& brush& an ilia concealer. I filled the holes in my collection& should be good for the next year. I’m sorry it’s so long& rambly, I don’t have any irl makeup besties& I just love this space you’ve created.
I had the original Gemini and I hated the shimmers. I never bought anything from them again until recently I got a mystery box and got the blueprint palette. I've been really considering getting this one now
The shimmers are DRASTICALLY different, in my opinion. While I loved the OG Gemini, I never really got to work with the shade Gemini as it fell out, and Goalz shattered almost instantly. The formula in the new one is a million times better.

I have been waiting for this video! I was pretty sure the formulas for the shimmers would be different and sure enough. I’m glad but also bummed, I have the original but can’t justify the cost for just 2 shades. I actually just bought a single shadow from Terra Moons to act as a replacement shade for Gemini, it’s a multichrome so not a direct replacement. Can’t wait to see the next review! (Also, your review of the cream blushlights was so helpful, I purchased Honey Thief in the Sephora sale!)

If I weren't in Scottish penny pinch mode at the moment, I'd be very tempted to snag Gemini I. But when I'm honest with myself, I know I have it between colourpop singles and pallettes I've depotted, along with my too large collection of Sydney Grace singles, which include a bunch of greens they had in bundles and have since discontinued. I have these colors and I use my singles all the time. I make my own palettes from them super often. But damn, just the artwork alone makes me want this one. Which feels dumb. 😁

I’m kicking myself for not getting the new Gemini in the new packaging! I have the older one. I bought it last time it was in stock. I picked up the new sister Gemini ♊️ and I also picked up the liner in onyx. My shadows haven’t crumbled or anything in the Gemini palette but in the She’s in Parties palette my cream shade looks like it exploded. When I first used it, the shadow came off in layers, it was weird, then after sitting in my drawer for a little bit, I opened the palette and that shade exploded. It is so weird… anyway I love the look you created!
If your OG Gemini palette didn’t crumble and it’s in good shape, you’re TOTALLY fine not getting the new one! That sucks so bad about She’s in Parties though. 😫

This reminds me of flower punk from Kaleidos.
I think Gemini is much more grungy since Flower Punk has those gorgeous pops of pink and blue, and these are dirtier greens and browns.

That's the best feeling! It's often the other way around - that a reformulated version ends up being disappointing. How delightful that's not the case with your tippy top favourite palette! Your swatches of the new version really showed the difference beautifully. Your halo eye look was GORGEOUS even before you added the shimmer shade. Hmm. I don't have ND Metropolis, but I do have Kaleidos Flower Punk and Oden's Eye x Angie, and I think that this color story stands on its own from them. While Kaleidos and OE both have some grungy tones, they also brighten things up with the pinks and vibrant greens or blues. This is a PURE grunge palette. All slightly dirty tones, which I ADORE.

I couldn't see the undertones clearly until I got this in person, but all of the neutrals and greens in this palette have a noticeable yellow undertone, which makes it super perfect for me. I only recently realized my undertone is not just warm, but specifically yellow. So many warm shadows and foundations look orange on me and pink shadows look more reddish, but peaches, corals, and yellows blend more naturally w my skintone. So when I saw it in person and tried the neutrals shades, they blended so well on my skin tone!!
