I’m happy to announce that the bag issue on the sawhorse stage has been cleared up. I shot this wrong, and the pad attached to my mini-plate is considered a bag. I filmed this wrong because of my misunderstanding of the rule. Thanks for all the feedback guys! I really appreciate the conversation!
@@bopcbopc my plan is to still use the pump pillow, but remove the arca plate pad. Giving the butt of the stock a solid anchor seems like the right call because the fore-end will have stability from the sawhorse like a giant bipod.
Good eye!.. it is my understanding that the pad I had under my mini-plate being as it is attached to my rifle, it is part of my rifle and not considered a “bag”. Very good question!
At my match I would consider that a bag so it wouldn’t be allowed if you we’re using a pump pillow. My understanding of the intention of the stage is one bag only either it’s on your lap as a pump pillow or under your rifle. Just because it’s attached to the rifle doesn’t make it part of the rifle. The bipod is the only piece that is consider part of the rifle.
Our local club always shoots stressor options which means no chair on this stage. I was planning to sit on a large bag and use my arca bag - until I saw the 1 bag restriction. 😮
It looks like you have a tuner on ! Does it help? I live in Canada and don’t have a way to lot test. I just buy 10,000 and hope for the best. Would be nice to see data (targets)on tuner testing . Thanks
I’m looking at getting into some 22lr competitions. Been shooting my whole life just not competitively. What are your thoughts on barrel length for long range 22?
Good Question! Personally I’ve seen 16” barrel rifles that are absolute tack drivers with ammo they like.. I’ve also seen Bench Rest rifles that have 26” barrels. The general consensus is that at about the 18”-20” mark all of the powder is burnt and the projectile is no longer gaining acceleration from gas expansion. However, the added length provides a longer engagement of the projectile in the rifling which aids in it’s stability once it’s left the muzzle. If you plan to shoot NRL or PRS, I think a barrel no longer than 22” would be perfect. Now, that’s just my opinion.. I’m certain other competitors will have a different opinion.
Hey, looking to do a NRL, once I find a local range that isn’t charging $85 for s ingle match.question..when shooting the kyl, for newbies, should I quickly try the 1/4 move to others I have a better chance with?
I really hope you can find a range near you that’s not charging such an absurd amount to shoot the monthly match. That being said, if you happen to get out there to shoot this months COF, the 1/4” KYL will be the last 2 targets on that stage (if you don’t miss any of the others). That is a small target even for 42 yards, so I would recommend you just take your time and get the impacts that you can get. Your only concern should be hitting the target(a) in the right order and nothing else.
I’ve got my own mini COF set for next week. I have a barrel, shooting mat, and saw horse to practice a few of Decembers at least. Excellent vids and helpful as always!
so how you know the elavation and stuff of the targets? i watch many videos and none the real stage preps are ever shown,, cof everybody does.. gets boring after a few videos

I am glad you said this. I was going to ask if you considered the bag attached was considered a “bag”.
So given the clarity on this, have you thought about how you're going to shoot this now?

Hi, on Christmas Cookie Overload restrictions say one bag limit but you had a bag under your rifle also? Am I missing something?

@@2007HOG, I’ll be sure to check with the MD at the match before I proceed with this strategy when it’s game day. Thanks for the comment.
