    I have the Overloud TH-U Full version and it's head n shoulders above the competition. Once you've got used to the interface, you can craft your own tones easily. I like the Marshall Plexi sounds, so choose a distortion box, gold-faced amp and try the vast selection of cabs. Double click on the cab and you can select both mics and affect the tone further. CPU is lower than others too. Next level, nothing comes close and that includes Guitar Rig-6, in my book!

    One of the best things about THU is how little processing power it uses for how good it sounds. Incredible how well programmed it is.

      Sonic Drive Studio What’s the difference between the 190 dollar version and the 280 dollar version?? I’m thinking about buying this i tried bias fx out for some reason i’m getting crackling and it just doesn’t sound right. Tried the demo version of THU and it sounds really good no crackling sound at all. Do u think if I bought the full version I would have the same problems i have with bias fx? Since i’m only trying out the ThU demo version and it seems to work fine.

    I am very happy with TH-U. No more artificial Sizzle to constantly fight. Love the way the Orange with the Ownhammer Bogner 2-12 Cab IR sits in my mixes. Mids for days, but man it sits just right in my songs.

      I just got an email from Overloud regarding one of my suggestions (ok, complaints) about the Looper in TH-U being far worse than TH3, and was told they're currently implementing a SAVE feature expected within the next couple days. No word on if they can plug the TH3 looper in with SAVE, and PANNING of more than 2 guitars. Will let you know once I do.

      If you add a good DeEsser like Waves' Sibilance and OD DeEdger from TDR you can get rid of that "plugin" sound. Filtering out the nasty frequencies between 4 and 6 kHz is crucial for distorted guitars.
      It sucks that you have to do so much work to get good distorted guitar sounds from a VST but it works and sounds WAAAAY better.

    As much as I love my Slate plug ins and I currently have the "All Access Pass" I am sorely disappointed in TH-U Slate Edition. Your giving a demo of the full version of your software but even at a discount to upgrade to full with my Slate subscription, $200 is crazy when you still want even more money for other features when a product says Full that is exactly what I expect if I paid to upgrade not to even spend more money for other add-ons. Scuffman -S Amp that originally came with my Slate package has some of the very best modeled, best sounding Amps and Cab IR's with all the hidden tweaks I have ever used, not to mention I have literally over a hundred IR's in my collection I can load right up in it, including the amazing Diezel stuff I have and I paid nothing more than $129 with no additional purchases required. There is no tone I cannot get and with S-Amp I am able to easily come up with my own unique tones quickly when inspiration strikes, wish I could say the same about TH-U as I was led to believe I was going to love it, was way better than S-AMP, simply not true :(

    • @jaredholton3145
      @jaredholton3145 4 роки тому

      You might consider the ART voice channel strip as a preamp to your audio interface. The reason I enjoy it so much is the variable impedance knob that can really liven up your DI tracks prior to hitting any plugins. With my current setup I don’t find that the instrument input offers the correct impedance to really allow the DI guitars to maintain their clarity. I’ve been using it for about 6 months and I’m very pleased with it for DI or mics.

Can it be my cable? My pickups are DiMarzio Steve's Special bridge and Air Norton neck which are supposed to be very hi fi and open sounding. What I meant is that the 18i20 should have a far superior Hi Z input when comparing it to m-audio fast track or a jammate rock pro (my previous interfaces). Yes, I changed the strings multiple times obviusly. Now I bought a shorter cable, as mine was a thin and very long cable (20ft). The new one is 10ft and should preserve the tone better. Tell me I'm wrong?) If Kemper should release the profiler as a plugin, THAT would be a real game changer. Same goes to Fractal. Line6 did it with Helix Native already, and it's all software anyway so why not? I'd pay for that in a heartbeat. The TH-U needs to compete with pure software modellers like Line 6 Helix Native, which offers a massive amount of options. So does TH-U offer any tones for 50's, 60's 70's 80's guitar sounds? All I hear is headbanger/heavymetal sounds, which can be reproduced by GarageBand. How about sounds for a much wider range, from Rockabilly, Surf, Beatles, Clapton, Hendrix, Reggae, New Wave, etc. It seems so many modeler demos are always about headbanger metal sounds, which is such a small part of the market. Rephrased, can the TH-U produce any other sounds other than the prototypical clean and headbanger sounds? Because that is where 99% of the guitar market is. It would be nice to hear a much broader selection of sounds than just the niche market for heavy metal players, unless the product can't do this of course. Line 6 Helix Native also comes with hundreds of effects pedals and you can add the entire library of OwnHammer IR's if you want to. So TH-U needs to prove it can step-up and compete with the big boys. I'm a big fan of the Slate Virtual Mic System. So is TH-U really ready for prime-time when you compare it against the competition?
