seeing that made me ache for the 1980s xmas camps, omg the adventures we had, if only I could go back to those wonderful days, always loved a hanger flight to finish off before the bar :)
0:09 Your wing halves are swept forward, you should check if you didn't bent the wing tubes in a hard nose landing. At least that's what I would do as an experienced RC airplane pilot.
Nice little video. The Puchacz was glider I originally trained in and was the first one I went solo in. Not sure if this was early morning or late evening but I really like these flights where the air is still, even if it is a short one.
Wow, i had no idea you guys are using our Polish Puchacz's! So amazing to see this magnificent beast in the sky other than polish one! Most of the world uses ASK21 as far as i know.
Yeah well I like the giant canopy and view, that’s very nice. And the aerobatic abilities and big air brakes. And the size of the back seat. The main problem we have is the limited 6500 hour life, which we are about to hit with one of them…
Enchanting images during the golden hours.... beautiful, thanks for sharing! During my travels in NZ, I flew in a PW6 around Lake Taupo once. That was one flight to remember! Cheers.
@@PureGlide Yes... A nice and honest plane to fly with I remember. NZ is a (flying) paradise;-). During that same journey, one day, we drove along a meadow whereabout I spotted a single seater standing in the middle of nowhere. I thought an outlander, but upon further investigation , it turned out to be a very old man on his own property, waiting to be launched by his wife through what looked like an homebuild winch. This would be quite not allowed here in France, but I very much appreciated the whole picture; 2 oldies having fun with grandpa taking the skies with the help of that self-build sh*t! I remember as well, the airship definitely had seen better days... lots of duct tape;-). Ah well... better that, than sitting behind the geraniums;-). Have a great day!
mine also, like a week ago! Even more, it was the one first ever created (a prototype, with a long hinge for canopy, way shorter stick and with no main gear fairing). Love its airbrakes :D
Hi the main issue is seeing where you are landing! And if you had to land in a field, you wouldn't want to do it in the dark. There is the odd glider around the world that has night flying lights on them, allowing landing at lit airports late into the evening.
@@PureGlide arh, good point , I guess that brings me to a secondary question. Do gliders have strobe lights as in powered craft. ? I’ve seen lots of your videos but my mind is blank on that subject 😀😀
Yeah some gliders do have all the lights for night flying, like these guys who do airshows www.aerosparx.com So as long as you obey your local CAA laws for night flying, and have the correct equipment, you can do it in a glider. Again you don't want to be outlanding in a field at night, but flying over a lit airport might be fine.
@@PureGlide Makes one appreciate the skills of WW2 Lysander pilots who landed spies in French fields at night with the aid of just a few torches and moonlight.
Who could not want to go flying after seeing that?
Agreed :)
Wonderful glider. I love how you can stand upright in the backseat.
As a tall fella, I agree!
Good old Puchacz 🦉👍
Yeah works good!

Thanks Stephanie!
I must try Gliding I live near Lasham one of the biggest gliding places in the UK i believe.
Yeah it is! And yeah give it a go sometime, they're always happy to take up new people to see if they like it
Like a meditation. Great stuff!
Beautiful scenery, you picked the right moment and time of the day
Thank you very much!
A prefect flight, on a prefect day.
Thanks Kirk!
Even got a nice big train down below heading off to the tunnel.... Nice Video!
Thanks mate!
Nice relaxing flight and beautiful video. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you!
The reflection of the golden sky in the mirror- smooth- wing,... Just magic! 🤩
Thanks! Glad you like it! I have a feeling this was before it was even polished...
@@PureGlide Another great shot is beautiful mountains, reflected in the canopy >>

Haha you'll be pleased to learn that's the design of the Puchacz glider :)
You got i right....no words needed :-)!!
:)
Yep for sure, love the last flight of the day.
Yeah I think that was too :)
Had my 1st flight in a Puch in 1971...
They've been around a while!

Thanks! Yeah that was evening, we don’t get up early often in our club
Stunning vid
Thanks!
Beautifully done! I just shared this with all of my flying and non flying friends.
Awesome, thank you!
Great video . . . . and oh what shiny wings!
Lovely aren't they! I'm not sure this was after our polishing session though!!

What is your the most favourite feature about Puchacz?

A prefect flight. Especially on this day, my birthday
Aww happy birthday mate!

Awesome! Not many PW6es around any more, we used to have one

Given what I have just seen, is it possible to glide at night given the land still holds heat or is it too dangerous ?
