What are the legal considerations for landing in a field? Is this trespassing? And chance of arrest or citation? I'm interested both legally and practically. My son wants to fly gliders.
Glad to hear your son is interested in gliding! We of course never plan to outland. It is technically trespass (not a criminal matter in the UK) but anywhere in the world we're trained to select fields that don't inconvenience the farmer, such as this one already harvested. I've landed in dozens of fields and being respectful, have never had any trouble. Hope that helps, your local gliding club will be happy to discuss it 🙂
