Mine has the 2 litre 5-cylinder diesel, mated to a 6-speed automatic box, for some reason reviews are unaware of this model, mine has been remapped to 215 bhp up from 177 bhp of the standard car, I disagree with your analysis of this car, it drives beautifully, very stiff body, very smooth, very comfortable, and very quick, looks fantastic with the hood up or down, plus 38 mpg on average, plus I rarely see another when I'm out, so makes you feel quite special for all of the above reasons !

I think you will find the car you show on here has a six speed automatic, the older volvo cars had the five speed auto box which wasn't that good compared to the six speed upgrade !

Rather in jargon, need more lay person terms with less numbers and symbols.

The car body doesn’t feel rigid because that is the nature of the convertible configuration… should stiffen considerably with folding metal top in up position.

I'm sorry, but have you even sat in c70.. "doesn’t feel rigid"- i assume this is generalization based on a look.

Yes with the top up it does. It feels good with top down though. Mine’s a 2012.

My C70 feels stiff enough to me, not to be confused with the original C70 of the late 90s and early 2000's, that suffered from skuttle shake, because it was basically an S70 with the roof cut off, whereas the Mk2 was designed from the ground up from the outset as a convertible, so has a far more rigid body in comparison.
I find this C70 handles brilliantly, very comfortable, looks amazing with the roof up or down, which can't be said for many soft top convertibles, and averages 38 mpg in the 2 litre 5-cylinder diesel guise, mated to a 6-speed auto-box, love it to bits !

Check the upper and lower control arm bushes, they tend to wear out around that milage as mine did, which causes severe tyre wear on the inside edges of the rear tyres, but this can't be seen without either getting on your hands and knees, or taking the rear wheels off, not expensive if you do it yourself as I did, and I'm 72, but had to replace most of the bushes on this car, it uses Ford suspension parts, so not built with as much durability as older Volvo's !
