Also, in Season One, Kendall failed to finish the deal with Vaulter, a Tech Company only in the end, he and his siblings got screwed over by Gojo, another Tech Company. And ironically, the one who caused it is Kendall himself. He failed Vaulter's deal because he chose to go to Logan's birthday and he failed to prevent Gojo's deal because he showed his true color: a childish grown man who is so in love with himself. Also, Kendall proofs himself that he likes to shoot himself in the foot over and over again.

The yatch episode where they decide who will take the fall is absolute masterpiece. It really shows the dynamics of power and how people have it abuse it over those who don't.

Kieran Culkin's character is pretty funny imo. I've always wondered if this is close to the real perspectives of the über wealthy 🤔 I really liked when they banded together to comfort the brother, Kendall. Their individual character developments were cool.
Thank you for doing this great recap. I finished watching the show a week ago and I'm not going say it was a bad ending but rather disappointing. I really hoped that reconciliation between the siblings would let them win it and move forward. But damn Shiv is always thinking of being a strong independent woman that she screwed everyone and everything around her. In the end she became the lower positioned person in both the company, her marriage and her relationship with her siblings because she only thought of herself. Her personality and mindset are the worst you can find in a person. She isn't even clear and honest with herself. It is just a huge disappointment to see it end this way. The off-screen death of Logan was a masterpiece and the emotions conveyed in that episode and what follows are absolutely gut-wrenching especially when you have lived through something similar and all those tears come flooding back. Kudos.
Thank god for this recap. I couldn't stand watching Succession 'til the end, but I was curious about how it played out. Now I'm glad I didn't finish it but even more glad for this recap, keep it up, my man!

Happy with the ending as long as Kendall falls, It disgusts me how most viewers want him to win, he's the worst Roy, Roman maybe sicko and immature but Kendall is the worst, he reach a new low when he denied accidentally killing someone and started screaming vote for me, I'm the eldest boy, he really put himself in a pedestal and I'm sooo happy he got a dose of reality in the end. I just wish Gregg has a better plot not just being the Judas of the company, although with all the moves he made, kinda realistic he lands his first Machiavellian failure.
First of all everyone in the show was an asshole but there is no one worse (possibly in any show ever) than Shiv. While I agree with what you said about Kendall in the end with him screaming like a baby, he was definitely the best out of the 3 to take over.
Everyone on the show is totally unlikable but it is foreshadowed since Season 2 that none of the kids will get the CEO position from Rhea. Kendall has a lot of chances to win but he constantly blow it up with his insecurity. Also, he doesn't listen criticism, talk like he's fucking Eminem and being too abbrasive, he's also a drug addict and party boy and even abandon his own family. He mostly will throw people like trash if they don't agree with him and thinking he wins over invincible arguments. Roman is not too serious, too much chill and laid down. But on the other hand, Roman is a good negotiator, most of the time every time he's negotiating it's always work because he usually befriends the client first and then he slowly tells the numbers and after so many conversations, they got the deal. Too bad he's a pervert who can't even have sex with his girlfriends and mostly likes Gerri whom he thought as his mother figure. Shiv in the other hand is a total moron. Most of the time she's rude and using "Pick Me" energy a lot. How does she expect she can be a CEO if she has no experience on the company? Also, she usually using her gender card as she mostly always feeling being outcast as the only woman to get what she wants. And she treats Tom like her lapdog, she's the one who usually cheating but when Tom tried to go with other women, she's always mad. Also, in Season One, her hair looked good and also she kinda cute with her long hari but in Season Two, she went full Karen even with that Karen haircut!

The acting may well be the strongest quality of the show, just Olyphant and Goggins alone, not even going into the rest of the regular and guest cast (Martindale, Elliott)…and as much as I love my New York crime shows, a truly southern one has the advantage of feeling really unique. Even its weakest points are, IMO, better than a lot else out there…let me know what you think if you give it a shot!

Another outstanding recap. Great. I was team Ken and was disappointed with the ending, but I'll concede it probably had to be this way - the writers set it up as a tragedy. But - the writers blew it. Perfect ending would have been Greg. He could have flashed back to Kendalls birthday party when Ken berated him, recalled all of the bashing from Tom, perhaps come out of the final (nearly) fistfight with Tom, and decided to betray them all to Madsen with some big secret. Have it be Greg, instead of Tom, in the dinner scene with Madsen as he was ultimately looking for someone weak that woul do his bidding. Greg would have been perfect, and we'd have bookended the series with Greg at rock bottom puking through the dog costume, to sitting in the chair as CEO. That will always be my preferred ending.

Good recap, but I think the way you describe Kendall's end isn't quite accurate. Sure he's still a billionaire, but you get the sense that the company has consumed him and he has nothing left. The final shot suggests he's pondering suicide.

Good recap, but I think the way you describe Kendall's end isn't quite accurate. Sure he's still a billionaire, but you get the sense that the company has consumed him and he has nothing left. The final shot suggests he's pondering suicide.
