- I tested the new generation of the Volvo EC160E RC excavator for about 4 hours. Is the 2nd version better now or will it break again?

Für Hobbypiloten sicher nicht übel diese Maschine. Aber für ernsthafte Maschinisten nicht geeignet. Nach rund 6 Stunden dauerladen liefen die Motoren heiss und diverse Kabel fingen an zu schmoren. Nach etlichen Motorwechseln habe ich umgebaut auf hydraulik und feinfühligere Regler. Seitdem läuft die Maschine tiptop. 250 Std in einer Saison sind kein Problem mehr..... Schmieren, Öl- und Filterwechsel sind natürlich nötig. Zwei-Drei Servos an den Ventilen hats auch gekostet, ist aber normal und ist schnell gewechselt..... Als Basis für Umbauten und Optimierungen ist dieses Fahrzeug top! Auch optisch ist der Bagger überzeugend. Ich habe jedenfalls viel Spass mit dem Bagger.

Wir hatten mehrere der elektrischen Version im Einsatz, alle waren immer wieder kaputt. Das Teil ist absolut nicht für den regelmäßigen Gebrauch geeignet, eher für die Vitrine. Denn richtig schön ist er wohl.
Mit der hydraulischen Version war ich sehr zufrieden, der Bagger läuft nach ein paar kleinen Reparaturen auch heute noch sehr zuverlässig. Der Umbau der elektrischen Version auf Hydraulik macht absolut Sinn.

I got a much bigger one, after some time the Volvo EC160 was too small for me.
Die Stellung der Schaufel voll eingeklappt ist ja viel zu gering da verliert man ja das halbe Ladegut.
Der Bagger gefällt mir auch sehr gut : ) Und ich überlege noch mir den auch anzulegen : ) bin mir aber noch unsicher :/
Der ist für das Geld wirklich sehr, sehr gut. Kann ich absolut empfehlen!

This is the electric version, but I can NOT recommend it.
I think they are using these building the HS2 line in Britain.

Hi, I've watched your other video about the same excavator when the 2nd arm servo failed ... Could you please tell me if |I| place an order now .. how do I know it's the 2nd generation and not the 1st generation with the faulty servo ?? Thanks
A buddy of mine has the second generation and it's broken for the second time already. You can not be sure, that it will not break down.
I have the 958 1.16 scale, yes it's plastic, but is fully proportional and quite a nice model and a good basis for an upgrade.. heavier than to older version too....
I have made the operators door open, upgraded the tracks and sprockets and super detailed the interior, added a driver...added boom lights etc, ..
You have to look very close to see it's not the expensive 1.14 model, and it's very reliable......think I will stay away from the bigger one for now anyway......

What is the reliability like on these? How finicky are the hydraulics? I run real excavators and have a Huina 1580 but I would like to go up to hydraulic but am worried I'll spend more time fixing than playing because of the complexity of the hydraulics. Any help?
The one in the video is the electric version, which I can NOT recommend. The hydraulic version is fine.
With your experience you know, that there are some possible issues. But you don't have to worry. Before the first usage and from time to time you should check the hose connections, the actual excavators are quite reliable.
@@monsterchannel24 I appreciate the quick response man, I know they won't be bullet proof I've never seen a rc hydraulic excavator in person, my huina is pretty impressive for what it is, but the hydraulics are super sweet. I think I'm leaning towards the same as in this video but the hydraulic version.

I owned this one as well some years ago. After some small repairs the actual owner is still happy with it.
If you want something bigger, I shortly owned the XDRC Liebherr 945. 2 buckets, 24 kgs. A really good RC excavator. Just the welding points of the drives were to thin in the beginning, maybe they changed the production meanwhile.

oh how the battery was delivered, connected it and tested it before I fully charged everything, that was a disaster, it is now still new in the box

Hello. This is also a metal version, I would NEVER buy the electric version again. I now a few guys who had this one, and there was not one, which didn't have problems. I lost a lot of money, because I bought 2 of them and I would not spend any Cent for this one. Just the hydraulic version is fine.
Wie heißt die App für den Bagger. ? An der Fernsteuerung kann man sein Handy anklemmen und in der Anleitung seht das man da über eine App funktionen drauflegen kann
Bist du dir sicher ? Denn Der Bagger hat weder Internet oder Bluetooth. Also wie soll denn dann da die Verbindung hergestellt werden ? Ich denke mal dass du mit deinem Smartphone eher Videos machen kannst währen du ihn steuerst und die Videos immer sehr gut den Bagger zeigen. Natürlich nicht als app sondern als normales Handyvideo.

Ich war vor dem Video unsicher ob ich mir den kaufen soll, aber da er gezeigt hat was man einstellen kann damit er sich schöner bewegt, werde ich mir den in nächster Zeit bestellen 😅 ich will mit dem Modell mal in den Modellbau reinschnuppern. Fahre in echt auch große Maschinen. Eine kleine für zu Hause wäre echt cool. Danke für das Video 😅

Is it a new model? What's improved compared to the old model?
It's the second generation. The rails are in orange color now and I guess the excavator arm has got new and better technic parts inside. It doesn't break in minutes like my first gen excavator did.

@@monsterchannel24 Thanks, funny, the smaller , cheaper 598 seems great, I have, used if at a number of shows this year and proformed well, no issues, it is however quite quick, even though is fully proportional , ...will forget the model you had..🙃

Der Einschwenkwinkel der Schaufel muss besser werden.
Ja, da kommt demnächst ein Teil aus dem Zubehör rein. Stört mich auch.
Ich hab auch diesen Bagger, auch die 2nd Generation, er funktionierte von Beginn an super, hat mittlerweile geschätzte 10h drauf. Bei hoher Belastung gehen manchmal einzelne Aktuatoren auf Block und lassen sich nicht mehr steuern. Aus/einschalten hilft dann. Vielleicht ist das ein Überhitzungsschutz.
Der Winkel der Schaufel hat mich auch gestört, ich hab hinten 10mm längere Arme eingebaut, wodurch der Schließwinkel besser wurde, aber der Öffnungswinkel natürlich schlechter. Die Geometrie ändert sich durch die Hebel nicht, solange nicht der Anlenkpunkt an der Schaufel direkt verändert wird. Ansonsten insgesamt ein toller Einstieg für mich in ein neues Hobby!
Danke für den Tipp, dass man mit den Trimmreglern die Geschwindigkeit ändern kann, insbesondere hat meiner viel zu schnell gedreht, jetzt passts!

These are motorized Bruder models. They are not available ready to run, you have to build them yourself.

Moin. Nicht gravierend besser, da sollte man Aftermarket-Teile einbauen.
Die Geländer sind jetzt orange, was nicht wirklich erheblich ist. Allerdings scheinen einige Teile im Baggerarm verbessert worden zu sein, in den ersten 4 Stunden hat der Bagger absolut zuverlässig und fehlerfrei funktioniert.

It's about 9.6kg. But in my opinion the electric version is crap, I can not recommend it. It breaks very often.

You could improve this by getting a longer dog bone for the bucket linkage and a quick hich for the bucket that willing make it 10 times better.

It’s a beautiful machine, unfortunately the poor electrics let it down in the long run.
The first version broke very quick, this one (second version) has a much better quality.
@@monsterchannel24 my friend has the 2nd version and has had the boom motor burn out 3 times, he’s run it no more than 4 hours total. He is now converting it to hydraulic. Good luck with yours 🤞

Just purchased one of these and after only one day operation I really dislike it, the transmitter is dreadful, hardly any proportional control and wires disconnected, horrible thing, going back asap..!!!

Die zweite Generation erkennt man an den orangen Geländern. Ich würde aufgrund meiner und der Erfahrungen von Modellbaufreunden von der elektrischen Version abraten.

Ja, habe ich auch schon öfter beantwortet. Die elektrische Version taugt gar nix. Wir hatten mehrere im Glashaus, die halten leider nicht lange. Sind andauernd kaputt. Ich würde dafür kein Geld ausgeben.
@@monsterchannel24 Verdammt, jetzt habe ich gerade meinen bekommen und lese das. Der Aktuator von der Schaufel macht schon -out of the Box- komische Geräusche, den habe ich schon reklamiert. Hoffentlich zieht sich das nicht wie ein roter Faden weiter...
