I did this a long time ago because the back entrance to my house was though the laundry room. It turned out great and held up. I did the whole washer and dryer with two different grey patterns, The door for the washer was covered in the paper for the dryer. The door for the dryer was cover in the paper from the washer.
I used contact paper to do the kitchen counters in an apartment rental and it turned out so cute! I just had to remember to use a trivet so it didn't melt.
You know, you can reverse the hinged side of your dryer door so it’ll hinge on the left side. That way, as you remove damp clothes from your washer, the door will not be knocking you in your legs while you’re doing that task. The instruction manual should have a detailed explanation on how to reverse the door.
It does. But if you’re planning on just using it for a year or two then it isn’t too bad. I prefer rustoleum appliance paint. Easier to redo after a year or two than it is with contact paper. I’ve done both.
@@deltarain4030make sure if you are covering or painting the dryer to use high heat paint. I have sent dryers out for repainting before and the paint is more of a glaze that has to be cured in a kiln.
I utilized the 5" of space behind my daughter closet buy using 36 of the 5x8 boards that hang on the wall and made her a shoe shelf like the shoe stores.

Does anyone else get tired of watching these that go so fast you (or maybe just I) have a hard time even clicking on it to stop so I can actually see what they've done. I like the videos that show the finished product long enough to recognize it when it's finished.
Yes! I'm with you. We are looking at a house to buy. If its been remodeled or upgraded, you can bet its gray, and white, with dark black or deep gray floors. Yuck.
When the machines are paid for and don’t require any service, they make a beautiful laundry pair. My Kenemore washer and dryer just turned 35 years old, and still going strong. 💪🏻 The OP was just giving her machines a cosmetic upgrade, that is fine with me.
Interesting ...because last time I checked ... dings and scratches does not assist in operation ... but hey ..what do I know 🤷🏾♀️ Hopefully you are showing us what works????🤔
@clarkclarke I think you're lost! the whole point of her laying the peal and Stick on the washer and dryer was because she said there were dings and scratches all over it. Thus to change the look, assuming before listening.
Good job! I very much admire people that make the best of a not so good situation and make it work. Awesome! Not everyone can afford new appliances.

Good to know it holds up over time - thanks for sharing!
I love home talk. When y'all do a video y'all really bring it all. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!

The steam and damp from the washer will loosen the contact paper from the washer lid after the 1st wash or 2.
Old trick made new. I was doing this before this was even a hip thing to do.
The heat from the dryer could possibly release chemicals in the air from the Contact Paper. I would imagine it recommends not to place near heat .
The top of a dryer never gets very hot!!!
Probably hot enough.@@cecileroy557
I thought it may get warm as well, cute idea if it doesn't melt!
I don’t think it’s a good idea, cause the heat of the dryer. Top and door by the time it going to get melt.

The best hack of the video. I was thinking the same thing.
Or you can just switch the washer and dryer so the washer is on the left😂

Looks cool.
Use a ruler to smooth down contact paper & remove bubbles.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing
Appliance paint might be safer
A great alternative - thanks for the suggestion.
❤❤❤❤❤ a lot of great ideas
I bet it would look great redecorating an old RV cabinets instead of painting them.
That turned out great! ❤
Thanks!
It comes off with heat.
Much faster to use a sponge roller coated with rustoleum appliance paint.
Appliance paint is a great alternative - thanks!
Won’t it come off with heat
Nope. We did ours a year or so ago and it’s still fine. 👍

I would think you’re right about this…
I am so glad I saw this hack, thank you!
Used to do this back in the 70s ..back then tho the contact paper would never come off again ..ever lol 😂

looks nice. not sure about heat and contact paper
The top of the dryer never gets too hot! The door sure does though!
Hour long video.❤
Won’t the heat from the dryer loosen the contact paper?
I would use white appliances spray for a long-term more professional and esthetic appeal..
My momma had her refrigerator painted at our neighborhood auto paint and repair shop.
Please put the products you are indorsing below. Can't see the results on the finished project.
Thanks for the feedback! We'll try our best.

Remember the lights young kids used to put around the underside of the chassis on their vehicles? Yeah, we used to call those Puerto Rican lights. 😂🤣
Can't find any glass cover of any type at The Dollar Store..
That whole contact paper dryer thing won’t last, I’d never do it.
Why don’t you just paint then because people forget they can do that I paint mine all the time the paper will come off with the heat of the dryer.
That metal base holding her soap is going to rip up within a week.especially with the heat

Noted. Thanks for your feedback.
I rather spray paint the washer and dryer
Great idea!
Can’t anybody think of any other color, besides gray and white 🫤🤷♀️
We love a pop of color too! What would you go for?
Yes! I'm with you. We are looking at a house to buy. If its been remodeled or upgraded, you can bet its gray, and white, with dark black or deep gray floors. Yuck.
Contact paper on anything besides lining shelves just look cheap and third world country
That made the washer and dryer look worse
Not good for things that can heat up or gets wet.
How can you share dollar tree hacks of your own?
Google it. 🙂
Right here in the comments! What are yours?
Please Make Over your Music
Why......
The design scrapes off
Don’t bother
Oh please don't put contact paper on your floor. Please!
Doesn't make sens
Why on earth would you do this this its an appliance that gets used a lot 😂
Her closet door,
A upid idea
Waardeloze oplossing. Waarom niet een kwast en wat verf om de beschadigingen weg te werken van de droger?
Dit lijkt op promotie van plakplastic.
Geweldig idee - bedankt voor het delen.
Time consuming ridiculousness
Ugh...that washer &dryer. Looks cheap and awful. 😔
I have them & love them

@@mytoytoo not the machines...the contact paper 😟
That's not nice it makes the washer & dryer look like it's a part of the room
I love the way it looks. Thinking about doing mine.
Can still see all the dings and scratches
