It's pretty rad seeing a steady release of content about the Expressive E, even though it's been out for almost a year already. It's far too common for a lot of manufacturers to release their synth with a ton of hype, then basically forget about it as soon as the UA-cam coverage cycle is complete. Thanks for this fantastic presentation.
Incredibly educational and captivating! The instrument is fantastic, and you're a talented composer, @JOSHMADOFF. Please create more videos for your channel! 😊
@@TomaszChrut I feel that there is so much that the Osmose can do via the MIDI connection that still needs to be discovered. I feel that the Osmose will be a new category on its own beside the piano, and harpsichord.
Great video demonstrating the capabilities of the instrument. Purchased a few days ago. Eagerly waiting for it to arrive somewhere in-between Christmas and New Years eve! Perfect gift!
hahaaaa this was great fun! Love how you used that sample library. I have been playing the old alesis micron 8 voices with it's poly aftertouch routed. So good for such an old VA synth. But most of the time I am diving deeper into the Osmose sounds, with a bit of Pianoteq-8 on top.
Wow, this is awesome!!! What is that pre and post controlling, can you elaborate? Also what other the other knobs on the Nano doing, would love to replicate these cool effects. Please make more videos on how you compose with the osmose. This is 5+ stars
Thanks! The pre is the pre-gain for the internal sound engine. It doesn't just raise volume, it excites the whole sound environment, eventually acting as a wave folder. The post-gain is overall volume of the internal sound engine. The other knobs are set to the 6 macros. Then the faders are mapped to the internal FX parameters. And finally, the kast 3 faders are mapped to Sustain, sostenuto 1 and sostenuto 2.
Odd comment. Your hands in the multi view video seemed like they were AI generated. 😊 The music was cool and I had no idea I could take a mono non MPE sound and have it support MPE on my Osmose. That trick alone was worth watching your video. Thank you.
@@wietzejohanneskrikke1910 in the last couple of weeks, hand generation via AI has improved mega fold. 2025 will be very exciting as AI really takes off. I am hoping that someone will improve the sound modification app for the sound engine in Osmose to be more intuitive and easy to use.
The Omsose will receive Midi CCs from both Midi Din and USB Midi so a computer would work for sure. In my case I use a cheap DOREMIDI UMH10 to power the NanoKontrol2 and convert it to Midi Din sonI can just plug a midi cable into the Osmose. Ill make a video on that in the future
@JOSHMADOFF thankyou. Was wondering the same from the first time you showed the nanocontrol. I could also connect a small midi keyboard controller with this method. Oh the possibilities!!! Love your work.
thanks. Great video. I just tried to rebuild that multimode thing with strings. I failed. I have the BBC Symphonic library, which has its own player, so no Kontakt. Can it be, that this is the issue?
@MegaBajak yea, for that you'll have to open up several instances of the plugin, and assign each a consecutive midi channel (and make the channels match on Osmose). That's one advantage of Kontakt stuff. The sample library companies are slowly catching up and bringing MPE to their plugins, but for now, we have to use workarounds

He’s so happy discovering those amazing sounds :)
the demo that makes you you grab your seat and hold tight for 20 minutes
Great video. I've had the Osmose for a few months now and since buying it I haven't looked for any other synthesizer. It's excellent!
Thank you!

Great video! Perhaps you could use Metropolis (1927) as your scene cue.
Thanks! Love Metropolis :)

Thanks! That Alesis Micron setup sounds really fun!
impressive demo - love it!
Thanks! 🙏
Wow, so many hot ideas, even if you dont own the Osmose (yet!). Thank you Josh!

Haha, I swear it's all me 😂.
A.i. doesn't do hands very well, so it is a remark that isn't based in reality.
I was waiting for someone to releas a video demonstrating this multi-channel feature with a spitfire library! Sooo excited!

where is the way to control osmose with Korg nano kontrol ? plug into the osmose or between computer ?

Whoa cool you can make generic garbage soundtracks with this thing??!
You should make some music with gear you like better instead of wasting your time being a dick on the internet!
