Some orchids love it, some not so much ☺️ I think I should keep more water in leca pots but at the same I'm afraid of rotting the roots, so I think the plants maybe don't get as much hydration as they want. Still learning how to work with it 😅
Sharry Baby enjoys leca a lot, I need to repot it again as that pot is absolutely filled with roots! It's in bloom at the moment, so I'll wait until the spike is done and then split it up into a few pots and keep it in leca ☺️
A fantastic root system on your unruly plant, you did an excellent repot. Good luck, I am sure it will soon fill its new pot.
Thank you Margaret, I swear that plant got bigger by the time I finished repotting it 😅
I just repot to new bigger pot -
Very helpful for me, my sherry baby isn’t doing well it’s my first time with it. It was in spike when I purchased it it was in old bark and spag moss.
Hi Lynda, one thing I noticed is that they love to be watered often and don't like sitting dry for too long... Good luck with your Sharry Baby! 🤞🥰

Have you noticed any difference with the orchid for using leca versus bark?

Would love an update on how this plant is doing. I recently repotted my orchid in Leca
Why do you want to get rid of the small pseudobulbs?
They just take up space and don't really serve any purpose when you have big plump mature pseudobulbs on a healthy plant
I just repot to a bigger pot ….
Why did you use Mecca and not bark or moss
I was trying out inorganic media at the time. I currently have it potted in bark, it's doing great
Leca vs bark? Which one is better?

Be prepared, my sharry baby is almost 4 ft wide
That's wild!! I already repotted mine again since that video as the roots were no longer fitting in that pot 😅
Three years and no flowers.??????
No, it flowered when I got it and them bloomed again about 6 months after and when blooms faded, I repotted it in this video 😊
