I had a very similar thought on a shroom trip the other day. I had imagined that if we would refine our genetics and focus on optimizing our bodies and using tech responsibly and not for empty pleasures. Then I imagined what if we reached a point where our minds alone would shape our bodies and change at our own will or to our needs whatever they may be, and what if we could instead of eating plants and animals to replace our bodies used up mechanics, we could instead take any element that may be available or in proximity and increase or decrease the amount of energy needed to synthesize elements that we may need to fuel our bodies, you know like add/subtract protons/neutrons/electrons for the elements we may need for these hypothetical bodies. All elements are fundamentally the same substance, so it's possible just out of our focus currently. Edit: it would be like existing as our minds alone with no bodies to focus and filter our mind but instead our minds governing over our body and consequently our environment, it would be like living in the imagination.
