When I try to load up Multiverse the loading gets halfway through the E and then glitches out. Sometimes it black screens and crashes Help would be appreciated!
I'm not completely sure what it could be, but if you installed FTL: Multiverse manually it sounds like it might be a problem with Hyperspace. I'd check and make sure you have the right Hyperspace version and that everything is in the correct place. Setting up Hyperspace was covered at 05:00 if you need something to compare your files with.
Hey i have a little problem : I've followed the exact instructions on the video (but for 1.2.3 because that's the necessary version now and the game loads but at like 3 quarters the screen just goes black but i can still hear the music or the little sounds from the buttons... Any idea to how to fix this ? Still, thanks for the video :)
Hello, I've been trying to find a fix for my issue everywhere but i can't seem to find it. My issue is whenever i tried to launch multiverse it goes smoothly till the point where the home screen is. It's just black, with the three text of "continue", "New game", and "tutorial". but the background that is supposed to be there is missing. And when i do click "New game" it either takes for ever or just does not work. Note i haven't been able to get into the game and actually play it, just getting stuck on the home screen. moreover vanilla FTL works great, just Multiverse is having issues and i can't find the answers or no one else has the same issue as me. If someone can help me with this issue that would be stellar.
If you have Windows installed on your Steam Deck, you should be able to copy the Slipstream Mod Manager folder over with no problems. I wouldn't recommend copying over the FTL game folder. If you are using SteamOS then I have no idea. I don't have a Steam Deck though, so I can't guarantee anything.

I have an older version of multiverse and I want to update it to the latest one 5.3, I tried following the manual steps but when I get load up ftl it exits out, how should I fix this?
I'm not completely sure what the problem is, but I'd check the FTL.log and FTL_HS.log files in your FTL folder and see if you can get anything from them. Also, did the game just close, or did it give an error message too?

I don't really know too well how the .exe file works, I'd recommend trying it using Slipstream and seeing if that works since it gives more flexibility and is a bit easier to troubleshoot if you have problems. But if you just want to use the exe you could try checking around Google and seeing if anyone else has had the same problem.
I used the launcher and the game was fully reset with no game data so it was a fresh save and it would just get stuck on the e at the end :(((( plz help everything was installed correctly but it just gets stuck
I did like a year ago manually install the mod but I uninstalled it after it updated and broke and now that there's a launcher I wanted to play it again but it won't work 😭
Like I said in a previous comment, I'm not too sure how the launcher works or how to fix any problems with it. I would try the manual install if their installer doesn't work since it isn't too much harder and it's been around longer, so it's a little easier to find help on how to fix things. One thing I did see when looking around though, is sometimes creating a new shortcut for the game (the FTL .exe) and adding "-opengl" to the end of the "target" in the shortcut properties will work. If all else fails, you can probably get some help on the FTL: Multiverse Discord. (Which is linked on the mod page)
Multiverse's exe or Slipstream's? And also by "won't let me open the exe file", do you mean Windows itself is blocking it, or is it running and then giving you an error/crashing?

Could I mod my ftl on my pc and copy the modded files over to my deck instead of doing the entire process on the steam deck?

Where do you find the extra equipment mod? I've searched for it, but can't find it. Is it called something else? Thanks again.
"Extra equipment" was the old file name for "The Renegade Collection" addon, but other than that I can't think of any with that name.

to fix this you have to make sure you installed the new version of hyperspace.dll file and replace the old one with the new one.

Making sure that you have "allow_zip" checked in Slipstream's preferences should fix your problem.

@@spyrichie It was blocking it from opening. Thanks to your video, I was able to get installed using the slipstream method.
Can I trust the launcher? It says the file is too large to scan for viruses and its "executable and may harm your computer"
It's completely safe as long as you got it from the mod page on the Subset's forum.
