Honestly I cannot get exited by more ports in the same regions, be it Caribbean or Alaska, and even less by Private Islands, which I will avoid as that is not what cruising is about in my eyes, read seeing the world and get into local cultures. The newly announced Vietnamese port Vung Tao, although new, is not adding a new location as it serves Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), but is 60 miles (96KM) away. Smaller ships, like the Celebrity Millenium I did to Vietnam in December 2019, that can dock in Phu My right now which is only 41 miles (67KM) away from the city center. Yes it will increase capacity with large ships but unless all ports can handle those do not think you will see many. What the world needs is smaller ships being able to serve new or underserved markets in Asia, Africa and South America, likely with ships not exceeding 2500 passengers.
Agree on the Vietnam ports. I have done land trips in Vietnam as well as cruised into Phu My. I cannot fathom how they would cater for one Oasis class ship, let alone two.
@@tduck828 That is somehow sure that you do not get deep into the culture on a day stop with a cruise. However you have the ability to sample the country and that might make you to plan a longer trip. At least more cruises to unexplored places allow this exposure.
I was in Cabo Rojo DR In January 2024 on the Norwegian Pearl. We were the first ship to visit. The President of the country and his family were there to open it and receive the first ship. It was an amazing atmosphere. ( it was actually interesting to see the security for him among such a party atmosphere) They gave us hats and t-shirts and free food and drinks (unlimited ) I snagged a wonderful canopied huge sun bed and was the first to use it. The pool area was huge. (2 so far) There was lots not opened yet in the terminal but the whole area is massive and really great. We heard what it means to the economy of this area which did your heart good that an area is so welcoming to cruise passengers given that lots of ports have become negative to tourists. (of course throughout the Caribbean I found all the wonderful people who live there so happy to see us as it is so important to their livelihood. ) This port had a great start so I wish them well as they receive more ships and finish more phases of development.
I would love some overnights in ports and even more than that I would love new smaller ships so it opens up more exotic places to visit. More places in the carribean don’t excite me
After sailing this year on Viking, I doubt I will ever go on a large ship ever again. With that being said, smaller ships can go to some great places without 5k of closest friends along with me 😮
I love Royal Caribbean, but I would love if they started doing more South American cruises like to Brazil and further south. The Arabian gulf and again the north east of Europe like Denmark, Sweden and Baltic states.
The Dominican Republic did already have a port stop on the south side of the island, toward the eastern end near Punta Cana called La Romana. Was there 6-7 years ago, but I don't think too many ships go there? Looks like Cabo Rojo is on the western side near Haiti, be interested in seeing it.
I am very happy to hear about new ports. Unfortunately the mega ships the cruise lines are determined to build will not be able to go to them. The new private islands and RCCL line making a destination in Nassau, 2 more Perfect Days, and a new Alaskan terminal sure make me question the super high RCCL costs for "debt reduction "
I once talked to a travel agent about that and she said that part of the reason they don't spend multiple days is that it costs them money. If you are in town spending your money, you're not spending it on the ship, drinking, specialty restaurants etc IMO, maybe some of the ports wouldn't be so anti- cruising if there were money money being spent on shore.
Just booked a celebrity cruise for 2025 that will have 2 overnights and 3 full days in Bermuda. I cruised to Bermuda last year and had 2 half days so didn't get to visit as many places I wanted. So excited to have 3 days in port!
Great news. As I was touring Maine last month, I was thinking that Rockland, Maine would make a good port for the 2,000 - 3,000 passenger ships. I wish that the southern half of the Med would get its act together. Probably won’t happen during my life, but hopefully sometime.
yes I will be that guy lolol.... it sounds like all of this is for the Cruise lines, ports and Travel agents..........But......does not seem like it is good for cruiser for this point. I personally feel some ships have too many cruisers and examples is the new princes cruise ship, they have small stuff one;ine and expect you to come on the ship several times so you can do it all. Wrong and right. for the major shows and restaurants. for a 4 days cruise you should not need to wait or waste 15 hours on. the ship for a show. this is similar to what Disney did and their parts got so full and crazy, so unless the sips increase by. a 1/3 then all but cruisers get the full benefit. Disney does this the best as for all on Disney then plan the shows and other stuff so all can get to the shows and do not need to wait. they make show rooms very big for like a thousands or more and all have good views. yes more is always good and as you said more choices but then more people on cruises and more super packed ships. I was luck to take an off season disney flask cruise at the end of Covid and was like 75% full and love it , then took a Panama and Trans Atlantic from USA and again both were 80% or less. I know there are some cruise that have limited numbers but the issue from the super mega ship is too many people on the ships and have seen a 60/40 spread where 60 % of the time the UA-camrs says too many people for our linking. I understand it is a business and know many will go so wish them well and I will pick and chose what I can lol keep up the good work and shows
We definitely can understand this point as we were just on an over capacity cruise ship in the Mexican Riviera. (Over capacity being at double occupancy, not over maximum capacity) We highly recommend trying out more cruise lines like Celebrity, HAL, and even luxury cruise lines to get less people and more space similar to Disney. ☺️ Of course, it comes with a price, but is way more similar to the Covid Restart than any mainstream lines will ever be. 😅
My ideal cruise experience is on the larger, newer ships with a combo of sea days and private islands. I’m at the point where I pick cruises for the ship I want to experience. Some ports that I’ve been to many times, like anywhere in Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, I really do not like. Cruising to places like Boston, or Maine, anywhere like that, a total bore.
We just got off an 8 day cruise a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to be way too crowded! We have a couple cruises booked, bur seriously rethinking our decisions!
Just popped in to say hello! 🎉 on getting to that 100K. I am headed to Lookout Cay in a week. I think I am going to avoid the food and just check out the bars, beach, and the shops. Are you planning to check out the Destiny? I already have one booked for April 2026.
New ports are so exciting, since ports are why I cruise. But the problem is, I don't have enough time (or money!) for all these new possibilities. Choices, choices!
I still don’t think these ports are interesting because they are making these to avoid protest and added port fees. Private islands are just resorts- may as well go on an all inclusive resort? 2 days in a European, or distant city isn’t enough! I want to enjoy, longer. Alaska & Caribbean as well as transatlantic are great, but not if I travel far and only get a tidbit of a country, plus the time to go from the port to a bucket list city. Could not do the private islands on a steady basis- pretty much the same!!
Megaships are a horrible idea. Too many people show up all at once. More ports, keep the ships smaller (3.5k or smaller) Spread out, there are plenty of things to see and places to go, but Megaships are a only good to go to Private Islands. I can understand why so many port s do not want them.

Hi there! First off, thank you so much for watching our channel, we love our subscribers and appreciate you ❤️. We have absolutely no control over who sees our videos on UA-cam. Our Patreon community receives other types of content (like our podcast) but isn’t tied to UA-cam in any way. Please know that UA-camrs have zero control over who UA-cam shows our videos to. We release videos every Sunday and Wednesday at 12:30 EST to the public. Patreon is a separate platform and has nothing to do with our content here on UA-cam . Hopefully that helps!
We are sorry you feel that way. We are only two human beings, we have no team and have no one that works for us. We try our hardest, but if you see less it’s because there’s only two of us trying to do more and more for more people. The best way to connect with us personally is to join us on a group cruise. Those are the most genuine and fastest way to connect with us. Again very sorry you feel this way. ❤️
Mega ships that are more family oriented makes me think that they will not enjoy a port like Vietnam. Great for adults but kids? What type of fun excursions would interest a kid? Better for them to stay on the ship. Then, is it worth it to book a cruise there?
Cruising is growing in popularity in Australia and Asia so we believe there will be a lot of eager cruisers outside of North America as we already see this happening with the New Disney Adventure cruise ship which is similar in size to Royal’s Oasis Class. 🚢
I would love to have overnights in ports, more time to explore!
Absolutely!! 💯

You aren't in countries long enough on cruises to really take in the culture of countries though. Too short of a visit.

I would be excited to see cruise prices be more reasonable.
Yes! We believe that is the big positive with more ships coming out as demand needs supply to keep up so pricing can be competitive as well.

I hope Royal does overnights at COCO Cay... That will be a game changer.
That truly would be a top option for vacation in the Caribbean!

Not a fan of the MEGA ships.
Great job Jordan!
The problem with Carnival's Celebration key is the drink package doesn't work there. Royal's Coco cay, it's included.
Agreed!

Overnight cuts their gambling time and profits along with other up charges
New ports to cruise out of or into are always good. I’m especially excited about those not in the Caribbean.
