There are so many things that need to be unpacked from this episode! All of the FQs have been in ballroom 15+ years, and nick as well! What is necessary is to understand Malik's position, as a person whom has been involved just over 10! The world has changed so much, and I really do agree with Asia of making the category for those whom don't want to be in the stereotypical bylaws of it! I really loved this episode so truly hats off to yall for digging deep! I do also agree with Malik, where when men evolve in the world, the category should evolve! I've seen Malik around NYC, and even before I remembered who he was, I was like "that's a man darling"! Realness is about how you show up every day, and daddy gives it! Nick's perspective is also very valid, and it needs to be understood deeper. Ballroom is founded off dismantling, yet assimilating into the patriarchy society we live in. So there are things that should remain/honor! Yet, make things your own. I have more to say, but wow! This was definitely my favorite episode
Tab is literally a piece of representation that's so important. All of these women are, but when I see how people downplay FQs, not realizing how educated they can be and really be their own!
Thank you Tabytha for being so transparent ❤ GREAT guests, btw! It's great that Ballroom is expanding. However, in my opinion, running a House like an organization is not what Ballroom is about. Maybe consider incorporating some elements into the structure. I think, it contributes to some of the issues in Ballroom. New members coming into Ballroom with an organizational structured mentality forces individuals to not take Ballroom seriously which leads to people not learning about the foundation and history of the community. That takes away from the ESSENCE of Ballroom and what we built and what you appreciate!!! And, I remember when both of these Houses started. Shout-outs to David Mugler and Al Allure
They should've let Malik be the only one being interviewed. Father Allure is very......I just know he has all caps in his Jack'd bio lmfaooo. "Bring masculinity back into ballroom." Girl..
A lot of people don’t see it for Malik as RWT…imo he should have been walking vogue fem from jump. I don’t see the realness nor the twist. Asia was speaking to Malik when she was voicing her opinion about RWT.
I hope father Allure look at this interview and realize that him constantly announcing that his house is a house of “excellence” and they’re above it all.🙄 seems like he’s trying convincing himself that they’re excellent. Cause if they are truly THAT, the work/house should be self explanatory.
1 more thing about Mr. Father Allure😂 he is someone who thinks his opinion is the only one that’s valid. Cause brother love sat there and COMPLETELY contradicted himself, and instead of acknowledging that he was speaking from both sides of the coin, he’s fighting to be right! It’s obvious he’s not use to having conversations with ppl who have opposing thoughts. Cus if he did he wouldn’t be listening to respond.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this. With reagrds to BALL ROOM we already know so much of wyite suprxxxmacy and societal toxic norms SPILL into our world SO WHY NOT be proactive and HAVE Monthly and weekly meetings MEETINGS , TEACHINGS AND LEARNINGS or what we should and shouldnt be doing to empower one another, our community and PRESERVE our rich history . ITS NOT THAT HARD if we really wanted to change. HUMANS ARE HUMANS and Blk people are the main ones that PERPETUATE all of this. WE NEED MORE Tabitha's , Angelica Ross, LAvernes HOPE GISELLES , Dominiques , etc within our scene . TEACHERS who are very deeply rooted in liberation work. NOT discrediting Temptress or Asia at ALL because they add SUCH culture, experience and intellect to our scene but its a difference when YOU ARE ACTUALLY in the trenches of liberation and dismantling work
I love this ep. OI think only thing was the flow of the interview. I think the question was very strong literally jumping into as the guess. As the viewer we should get to know them first from them then job back to the flow of topic.
LISTEN! 😂 ...when it comes to that dynamic Nick and how he makes me feel; only one word comes to mind 😂 - and the late great ICON HECTOR XTRAVA, articulated it best: MOIST!
The perfect example of realness with a twist is Kenyon...he could put on a sheisty mask and pump thru the bronx, but vogue down at the ball....he is not flamboyant.
Very hypocritical. That same point Malik made about GNC is exactly what people said about him not walking Vogue Fem because “they don’t see his realness”
And I think Asia that was a mistake putting sexual & pride together in that way without clarity , we have so many people looking for a soundbite to call us deviants.
I think they use the term father /mother and child but I think it’s more of a teacher student thing … so I see why ppl date bc you date ppl in your class at school
I'm also wondering will WE EVER CENTER BLACKNESS? AFRICANESS? OUR DIAPSORA WAS NEVR REALLY centered in BALLROOM. I wonder what BEAUTY would be birthed when we BUILD our houses , categories and structure around celebrating BLACK AMERICAN , AFRICAN. HAITAIN, etc our ancestors WERE EVERYTHING!!!! Yet ballroom ERASES that by always fighting to be in proximity to wytness .
Hi beloved, I really think that having the conversation of what determines beauty and blackness can be a multi-layered discussion. Ballroom's origins was birth by black women and has continued to celebrate the inter-generational approach to beauty, blackness, colorism and identity. There are categories that create opportunities to explore different cultures. However as diverse as we are the standards of beauty is self determined confidence that we must have internally.
My lady you gottta keep watching he said he is he ain’t denying that’s masculine men hav no longer been identified as Bq as it was in the early 2000s and prior it has evolved into a new connotation respectfully that is hard to separate masculine men and feminine men in our community
I know what you mean but men like him in ballroom today shouldn’t have to be grouped with men who present in eye lashes and eyebrows and skirts? Are we including lesbians with Fq or bq it’s just too many labels now and it’s mainstream at least that’s what I got from the interview
@@ElijahAvraham lesbians are actual women, that makes no sense. A man is a man whether he wairs lashes or not. A BQ IS A BQ lol.. But we can agree to disagree.

lmao Nick schooling Malik on realness when Malik is legend for “RWT” is GOLDEN
I love TAB! She gonna educate every single time👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I believe if you a father or mother dating a child is a mess period young or not ! I agree with Tabitha.
These people are not children
Doesn't matter its still uncouth @baritone90

THIS!
There are no rules in ballrooms
Wouldn't Nick Allure be considered a bq??? Why is he seperating himself like that...

Another one, THANK YOU!
