  • In a previous video we went through how we prune our drift roses in the winter - • Pruning Drift Roses . In t his video we show you the results after they've had a few weeks of good weather in the spring. This is on the short side, but we wanted to wrap up the previous video without leaving things unfinished.

We've been converting our suburban back yard to a food forest. We do our best to share what we learn about growing in Florida's conditions… heat, humidity, thunderstorms, hurricanes, poor soil (ok… sand), bugs, etc.
We're located near the east coast in north Florida (zone 9), but we strive to make our videos helpful to anyone trying to beat the heat, build hurricane resistant gardens and fight off everything that flies, jumps or crawls that wants to eat our food!

Thanks for the Drift rose pruning tips. Was very happy to see Coral Drift. I can't ever seem to find them in stock in the local garden centers or big box stores.

Thank you for showing the results of the winter pruning. I hope you are going to do a garden tour update soon. From what I could see in the background things are looking good!

We are planning a tour soon! We have to knock out a few tomato videos so we can continue to show how to grow those during the next few months and we're fairly busy keeping up with everything now that it's all "awake". Thanks for the comment... full tour soon! :)

Unfortunately, it might be too late. Although we did have unusual weather this winter/spring. So, look at the canes, do you see decent sized buds? If so, wait until the first flush and then prune it about a 1/3. Hope that helps!
