Greetings from Argentina! We had many Taiwanese living there in the 80s and 90s, now there are few left and they have been replaced by Chinese from Mainland China. But the Taiwanese are very special; They taught me my
first words of Mandarin and some Taiwanese. I love old Taiwanese songs.

interesting. I see sometimes there is the traditional chinese characters; is it so written the taiwanese language? sometimes i really can't recollect words with their meaning. how different exactly the two languages are? thanksss
The difference is like german and spanish
Taiwan writes with traditional characters whether it is for Mandarin or other languages. Some characters are the same like 我, others are similar like 国 vs. 國, and some are completely different like 个 vs. 個. Hong Kong and Macao also use traditional while Singapore, Hainan, and the mainland use simplified.
Dutch and English.

谁说没有？ 跟老蒋渡江时有一大批广西士兵- 操白话的. 我在台中火车站遇到一个旅游中心服务台小姐说她是桂裔在广西人眷村长大, 能说粤语.
廣東話其實在台北街頭還蠻常聽到的, 有很多香港來的遊客,學生,還有新移民.
臺語不就是普通話嗎？？

I think they used simplified for videos from the mainland.
