- In 1964, researchers at MIT university were working on a computer program. A program so ahead of its time that it would allow seamless communication between humans and machines.
By 1966, they built ELIZA, an app that would set the foundation for all future chatbots. What made ELIZA so impressive was the introduction of keyword-enabled responses. For the first time, users felt they were talking to someone who understood their input.
By 1995, another language processing bot, A.L.I.C.E, came out and was followed by SmarterChild in 2001, setting the stage for all the current generation chatbots.
However, a decade later, the introduction of AI chatbots like Amazon Alexa, Google Now and Siri took the world by storm.
But in November 2022, an artificial intelligence research firm called OpenAI introduced ChatGPT, an advanced AI-powered chatbot that has taken the world by storm.
Let’s understand what ChatGPT is.

If they are writing assignments on paper then, YES. Submission electronically, NO, as it is very easy to detect using any standard anti- plagiarism tool such as Turnitin.

If Chatgpt does the essay/article writing for you, then the author of essay/article will produce essays/article without any effort involved. In my opinion the answers produced by chatgpt should be as a supplement to human research on a topic.

You still have to fact check content produced by ChatGPT. I tried to query ChatGPT about a certain film with particular actors and actresses. It gave me specific details about a completely different movie with the same title. Both films have completely different plots, set of characters, set of actors/actresses, and even the release dates. So, there shouldn't have been a mixup. Both films were produced and released way before January 2020, which was the cutoff knowledge for ChatGPT at the time.
ChatGPT has no knowledge about this particular film which I queried. I found out that Wikipedia didn't have any knowledge about this specific film either. So, I know Wikipedia is one of the sources ChatGPT uses to gain knowledge.

At my community college, our policy on academic misconduct covers anything not written by the student themselves. I rewrote that to be more specific for my own course policies. My spring semester started over a week ago and guess what? Already busted one student for using ChatGPT to write her work. She now has a zero and a write up with my college for academic misconduct. I also posted an announcement to my LMS reiterating that students need to write their own materials, use of AI has penalties, instructors are using AI detectors, and that a student in our class has already been written up. Of course, I did not get more specific, but I'm hoping this scare tactic will discourage a few students from trying this.

AI is weakening human intelligence and thinking and surprise is that humans are developing more and more AI moduls. Just think if AI's get biased (because humans have developed it and humans are biased) then the consequences will be unrepairable.

@@neonroy1431 just saying entry level jobs in it will be taken by senior position as codes which took 1 week earlier is done in less than 2 hrs. In future means in coming 2 years for every 10 jobs there will be only 2 jobs. Also i can say that for blogging as well as professors and teachers checking copies of description types as it will easily rate the essays and answers. So i think u can conclude the picture. As i m in my 2nd year by 4th year i will get big bamboos as entry level analyst or developer jobs will be easily hadled by seniors. And most jobs will be automated by 5-7 years at most as far as i can see
