    Forgeworld Marksman build seems absolutely nuts. You can stack massive crit chance and fire multiple times a round with a high damage weapon like plasma. You also get the bonus of maxing out most of the skills in the game purely from int thanks to calculated relations. Seems like one of the strongest ranged builds I can think of so far

      Yup it's really nice.

      I’m seeing an issue with that though, and maybe if I’m missing something you can enlighten me or @Slandered maybe you can help us out but the issue I’m seeing with that is finding a way to increase your intelligence as you level up. Because marksman doesn’t have intelligence as a modify stat nor do ANY of the origins (which I think is a bit of an oversight). You can only raise intelligence to 50 at character creation and unless I’m missing something it doesn’t look like any of marksman’s advanced classes let you modify intelligence (except maybe arch-militant which I’m not as interested in). I agree it sounds awesome and if there is a way to make it work that’s definitely what I’d like to do, ideally as a noble. I wish each homeworld would give a modifier as well like so if you picked forge then that choice would let you modify intelligence. I might be missing something but it looks like we might not be able to go this route which sucks :\

      @@connorhoffman7501(edited build) Looks like operative would actually be the best option since you can actually level INT (unless there's some other way to on marksman) and the exploit stacks %bonus damage buff would be perfect for a high damage weapon like plasma/melta, you would definitely need support if you want to fire multiple times a turn though unless you just want to delete a single tough enemy a turn
      As far as origins go I think Imperial Guard commander fits best since it gives great stat/skill bonuses and the 20%+ damage buff for high base damage weapons sounds extremely good especially if you can pop it on a round where you get to fire more than twice you can potentially nuke multiple tough enemies
      And as far as advanced archetypes go bounty hunter seems like the best fit as it focuses on ranged crits and gives you a way to fire multiple times with strong single shot weapons. Arch Militant sounds like it could also be a strong contender if you want to build into a hybrid style but it just seems suboptimal when compared to just straight up shooting dudes with a plasma gun

      I wonder if it will work well with melee as well. Was thinking Operator/assasin build with crime lord background.

    I am having an absolutely fantastic day Slandered, thanks man lol. Been sending positive vibes and hoping that your recovery has been going well. I joined when I found your rogue trader content and it has been fantastic. Keep doing what you’re doing, making great content, and being so positive. It’s really refreshing, especially these days man.

    I can't remember ever being so torn on what kind of character to play.
    I love the idea of melee psyker, but I might run with Heinrix in the party and don't want to double up on the exact same archetype. I love the idea of Officer (either Commisar or Psyker), granting bonus turns and buffs to my killing machine companions. I love the heavy armor and advanced weapons talents from Forge World. I love the lucky talent of Voidborn. I'd love to play a full on Marksman specialist from Fortress World.
    So many ideas and I just can't choose. I think it will mostly depend on which companions I like the most and what sort of role will best round up the team of my favorite ones.
    That said, are you planning on making an overview video about companions and their archetypes/origins?

  • @razmeanie4519

    Very useful. I love your style of guides. I get a little bit of meta info since you know the nature of how many fights with how many enemies the game throws at you, but you don't get hyper specific with builds that are totally focused on meta knowledge (like specific gear).

  • @SteinerNein
    @SteinerNein 11 місяців тому +2

    Deathworld for psyker because you'll be using that extra HP to cast veil free. Also, for pyro since you're going to be taking damage and need to mitigate as much fire damage as possible. Also, you're probably gonna be running with a lot of trauma/wounds so that'll be pretty massive for your psyker abilities.
    Also, classic melee psyker with pyro can go Forge World, stack agility and use Fires of the Forge to take less fire damage.

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  11 місяців тому +1

      Nice. Definitely thinking about running pyro for my first Heretic run. Not sure if it will be ranged or melee though.

    • @SteinerNein
      @SteinerNein 11 місяців тому

      @@SlanderedGaming I think I am going to try for an Operative / Pyro base since exploits work with psy powers and are now shared apparently? So, that might be an interesting way to stay weapon agnostic.
      There are a lot of options out there haha

    Interesting that the voidborn seems like it would be focused on a backline type character based on its stat bonuses, but its main passive gives you the most benefits when you are hitting and being hit a lot, as well as some of its abilities. Maybe really good for a front line biomancer.

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  11 місяців тому +3

      It's still good for a backliner because you can reroll attacks. So honestly Voidborn work regardless of your playstyle.

    I remember there was Feudal World, I think it was shuffled into Imperial World like specific Forgeworld upgrades into Forgeworld umbrella, basically Feudal World Rogue Trader is one of few options for melee character (Other would be Deathworld and Subskin armour Forgeworld upgrade), Biomancy also helps, but it's bit redundant because of Heinrix is Melee Biomancer.

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  11 місяців тому +1

    I plan on going Voidborn x Crimelord Officer. And I have seen some people say Crimelord doesn’t work with officer, but Be Smart makes it synergize amazingly especially if you go into grand strategist. I also plan on grabbing Contagious Luck as well. I don’t know how far I can get with damage persay with this character I just know that they will be great for buffing. If they can use surefire plan to do good damage thats great, if they can’t then I’ll focus on having them use items and interacting with environment (if the game has hazards and such). Which I feel is just such a unique play style in CRPGs since so many of them are want even your support to attack the enemy because you can’t waste all your resources.

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  11 місяців тому +1

      Crimelord obviously fits better with Operative but sure you can have a good time using it with Officer. Hope you enjoy the game.

    I was hoping the type of world you came from would had more dialogue related to that sometimes but it’s no big deal, the meat of roleplay will be your former profession.
    I like how commissars had plenty of dialogue choices and can’t wait to see what the others will bring. Great video as usual.

    I played the tabletop version once and i really want to recreate my charecter from that, it was a 100% melee strength focus build with a one and done Alpha strike turn.
    Remember vividly running around being useless with my shitty gun and not being able to help the party, because i could never get in range for melee and kind of being a joke, but when we Got to the tyranid “boss” that we were hunting it made the mistake of comming Close to me and i used one of my fate points and sliced it into a million pieces in one hit. Really felt like a “your allready dead” moment and a game that i Will allways remember both for being a dumb idiot being more of a burden and for suddenly being a Badass.

    I feel they made Fortress World homeworld far too good for Range Gun attack based characters. It feels as if if you want to go full Gun range DPS, you must go Fortress World due to how good it is for Gun attack based characters.

    1) Voidborn/officer/psyker
    or
    2) Forgeworld/officer/noble?

    God im so confused on how to make a character XD I kind of wanted to make an operator/assassin character. With a crime lord background from a Forge world.. But then I dont think I can get agility in any way? That seems kind of bad.

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  11 місяців тому

      If you are going crimelord into Operator than I assume you are focusing on Intelligence which lends itself to Grand Strategist not Assassin. Strategists automatically go first in combat so you could dump Agility.

      Forge world is very good for characters who want to invest in Int stats. It has a passive that turn persuasion and intimidate dialogue options into INT based and a skill that allow power weapons, plasma weapons, and melt weapons into INT based attacks.
      It also allows players to choose one of three different passive that can benefit range combat or melee combat.
