- Is Wanted: Dead a horrible game, or is it a future cult classic?
This game is a mix of bizarre choices, solid combat, and a lot of janky design- but is there enough here to look past it’s weaknesses?

You have a excellent style and your script is never dull. Good job. Thanks for the warning, though. I don't mind the jank. The dialogue looks silly but fun. The combat looked pretty good, too. BUT, rare checkpoints that also punish you if you fail to reach them is a deal-breaker for me. I just personally find that mechanic infuriating and I can't afford to destroy another gaming keyboard.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m still learning- so I always wonder about the pacing.
And I don’t blame you, the sparse checkpoints can really frustrate.
Not quite to controller throwing levels, but it certainly approached it 🤣
Thank you for watching!
Another quality video. Good stuff brother, keep it up. I've never heard of this game and was initially put off, but you made it seem pretty fun 👍
Awesome to see you here again, brother.
Yeah, this one is definitely not for everyone- but I had a decent time with it.
Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it.
The second you said stefanie joosten my brain just WOOOAH HOOOOOOOOOOO
Played you like a damn fiddle
bought it at max price after watching thorhighheels' enthusiastic indifference for the game. don't regret it whatsoever. hard as balls, love the weapons (especially customizing my rifle) and the inexplicably random memes and jokes. the devs went above and beyond for several shitposts, when Itagaki commits to a vision that dude COMMITS. purchase was immediately worth it after realizing the loading screen clip is actually a near 1:1 recreation of the supa hot fire hype meme (the video with all the dudes going apeshit around this one dude who just stands there smug)
I love Thorhighheels so much. He’s partially the reason I decided to try making videos in the first place.
And that loading screen was godlike.
Thank you for watching.
Id love to watch your video about drakengard 3
Hey, awesome to see you in the comments again!
I'll definitely cover that game on here soon. I have a few other games lined up at the moment, but it would be great to revisit D3. I haven't played it in a few years, it's overdue.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for not trashing this game into oblivion! And thank you for not doing that to Forspoken! I am like you; I don't watch videos or make comments for those purposes. 👌👍
Yeah, I liked both games a decent amount , even if I am well aware of some pretty wild flaws.
Even when I cover games that I think are pretty rough, I do try to find the bits that work and celebrate those while trying my best to remain critical.
I’m glad you liked the video.
And thank you for watching!
@@digitalhauntology You are quite welcome, Sir! And thank you again!!
You should do a review on Saints Row 2022.
I haven’t played much of the series. Is that reboot something that can be played without the old games?
@@digitalhauntology It can be played without playing the prior Saints Row games. However, if you want to have better context to why so many people did not like the new Saints you would have had to play the prior Saints Row games - specifically Saints Row 2 & 3.
You have amazing videos
Very kind of you, and I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel.
Thank you for watching!
What was the first video that got you to this channel?
@@digitalhauntology It was actually this one! The title got me thinking because as you mentioned in the video, most of the content surrounding this game has been kinda negative and that really is the initial reception in the case of a lot of cult classics.
I watch a few channels that play older, poorly reviewed games to see if they are as bad as the reviews at the time and it can be surprising how good they are when you contextualize or view them from another angle. (hopefully I make sense)
It makes complete sense!
I’m always looking for B games or cult classics. I feel like this is the space where more experimentation occurs, and I’m always looking for something weird and interesting.
Wanted: Dead is rad, but it is a little goofy and janky, but I definitely enjoyed my time with it.
I totally do the same thing, by watching videos on games that I haven’t heard of. I’m glad the algorithm got you here haha.
Okay, I know nothing about this game. But why the cheese are they singing 99 Luftballons in my mother toungue? I thought my Brain was glitching for a sec.
Forgive my ignorance.
I know the 99 Luftballoons is a German song and they also recorded an English version.
What is your mother tongue?
@@digitalhauntology German. For a second I thought I fell asleep (it is currently 4 am here)
Hahaha, damn I know that dreamlike feeling. Hope you’re able to get some rest soon
@@digitalhauntology about to settle. Good night.
Good night, my friend.
the soundtrack is great for this game at least.
Super solid.
Thanks for watching!
