I love how Norm goes from a cowardly type character in the first episode to a person who will hack the overseer's computer and walk into a dark vault by himself. Talk about character growth.
"I'm so stupid. I never should have trusted a doctor who smelled like that!" That has to be one of my favorite lines in the show. I also loved the subversion of expectations in Vault 4. I love how even though they were sentencing "goosey" to death by banishment, they're giving her 2 weeks' worth of supplies.
You mentioned the music at the beginning of the episode! I don't think I have ever seen a reactor do that! But it probably takes a long time fallout player to recognize the theme and appreciate how it was played for that sequence. I love it as well. it could just be blatant fan service to make players feel a certain way, but I'll take it!
Another great reaction vid. I love when you go all Fallout Fangirl over the easter eggs like the NCR helm or the Tesla Mag. Also kudos to your friend, that t-shirt is dope!
I love that the Vault 4 ejection ceremony is basically a gameshow. 😂 You even briefly see the woman with the supplies prance offstage like a Wheel of Fortune model. And we see 'The Trap' last episode was also for the viewer. 🙂 The dangers of making assumptions without all the facts - a core theme of the show. It's worth watching again to see all the little hints ('specimen control' harpoon) that mean something different than we're led to believe.
Fred Armisen was one of the creators of the TV series, Portlandia, which was filled with quirky indie hipster types who were oblivious to how odd were the lives they led. In Fallout, Fred Armisen plays DJ Carl of KPSS Radio, which is a character that would have been right at home on Portlandia. 😅
I'm so glad that you got really excited for the NCR Ranger armor and the Fallout theme. I got really emotional seeing that armor with that theme on screen. It was so well done and love how it seems to imply that the guy and The Ghoul have a history with his lead in him comment. It also implies that the guy is a retired Ranger. Also you're the first reactor I've seen that actually recognized the armor and the music. Most have either noticed one or the other but never both! I really love how they revealed that the people in Vault 4 aren't really evil. And the whole banishment ceremony is just so hilarious. This whole episode is just so perfect. The chicken fucker, Thaddeus becoming a Ghoul, the Red Rocket, everything. The hacking scene made me go crazy! My only nitpick is that I wish they added a part where gets rid of some of the options first before guessing it. I remember seeing the leaked photos of the Red Rocket set a long time ago and thought it looked amazing and it's so good to finally see it in the show. Buckle up for Episode 8, it's wild!
Heck yes!!! Thank you SO much for watching and enjoying these moments with me! Ep 7 really was a blast! I'm both so ready for ep 8, but also so not ready to wait until season 2!!
How cool is it that Cooper got dogmeat from Red Rocket... so much fan service that only gamers can appreciate without non gamers getting confused in this show...
Nope, I'm SO commited to reacting to this full season (and hopefully future seasons)!! I love Fallout and I'm so happy that I can react to this and share it with fellow fans and non-fans alike! Thank you so much for watching!!
Such a fun reaction to a great episode. I was very pleasantly surprised with how well the different plot lines are brought together in the finale. I didn't think it could be done in a satisfying way but they nailed it. Can't wait to watch it with you! 😉👍🤗
"I'm sorry Dogmeat, but you ain't him" just breaks me every time. 219 years is not enough for Coop to get iver lising Roosevelt. 🥺💔 Im living your reactions. Bravo!
I have a theory that Cooper was an early test subject of the "Ghoul Serum." While his ex-wife and daughter went to the special vault that she spoke of earlier, Cooper was sent to Vault 4 and expiremented on.
I keep going back to when he mentioned getting a farm in Bakersfield. If he ended up divorcing Barb over the Vault-Tec stuff, it makes sense he would go out to Bakersfield on his own. I'm thinking he came from Necropolis.
@@erinhaury5773this is definitely my theory as well! Considering Barb could have had Coop assigned to Vault 12 knowing what would happen to him! Hopefully Season 2 will shed some light on how he became a ghoul. The only other thing I can think of is that he got his daughter to a pick up location where she was taken to Barb and he was left for dead in the wasteland.
Just curious: did anybody else notice that when Coop and Barb were in the hot tub, and he mentions the ranch in Bakersfield, he says he could "go back to being a real cowboy?" He actually ran cattle before starring in movies?
War... war never changes. But Fallout credits... Fallout credits change In all seriousness, I'm sad that I'm nearing the end of this season, but it makes me look forward to season 2 so so much!!

Cheers Kageric, and can't wait to see you react to this season final path.
And I'm a few days late to this comment, but thank you SO much, Steve! I absolutely loved that episode and I'm SO excited to share my reaction to the final episode! Thanks for again for joining me on this journey through the show!!
Awesome job with these vids Kage! It's been great seeing your reaction to everything and hearing your thoughts. I think I had the same reaction with the NCR armor. 😅 And the hacking! It's been great, especially with this episode, how they've been balancing the comedy and silliness with the drama and thrills - especially with the Norm storyline.
Great reaction! I love the subversion this episode with vault 4 actually being pretty chill and no longer one of the messed up vaults they usually are in game. And I love that everyone is always cheering Maximus on when they see Lucy getting dragged away, but then being like “no stop!” When he actually starts helping. Or at least helping from his point of view. Also feels like they are making it so fusion cores are getting much more rare at this point in time. Every time we see them in the show they are treated really special. Could be an interesting plot point for future stories or games. And lastly I kind of feel like it was Steph that killed the prisoners. It just seemed odd to me that her first line to Norm was “shame about what happened to them” since we know she wanted them dead before. It just feels like maybe she knew she’d be changing vaults and wanted to take care of them while she had a chance. Super thankful for your videos! Excited to see how you like the finale! Hope you’re feeling 100% soon as well!
Yes!! I loved that too!! I really was expecting Vault 4 to have something truly awful going on but it was nice to see that wasn't the case. Ooh that's true about the fusion core situation. It'd makes sense that they'd be getting harder to come by. Also, that makes sense that it might've been Steph. Especially after her comment to Norm in this episode and that earlier episode. Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts!!
With Vault 4's surface teams, and the fact they didn't insist on getting it back, they probably had a lot of spare fusion cores. Hover, the production team probably didn't want him in a suit for the last episodes, or the writers.
Pretty sure Norm's got high intelligence as well as high perception based on he was the only one who got suspicious during the wedding. At least that's how I guess it'd look in a tabletop/dice RPG, guess Fallout/CRPGs don't quite follow the same logic wrt perception since it's based on player not character. Oh, and also small frame trait 🤣Norm's grown to be one of my favorite side characters with a development I didn't see coming at the start. But I also think the whole trio of them shines as they play off and contrast each other so well.
This has gotta be the week right Kag!? I caught your reactions in july, and catching up went by quick, but now it feels like an ETERNITY has passed 😂😭😭😭

Indeed. Norm's arc is wonderfully unexpected and fascinating.
I think you're the only person I've seen recognize the NCR armor and call it by its name. Love it!

Bettie (Leslie Uggams) would say "hit it" to open vault 33, given her background as a singer.
