Lovely ballet music. The lighting and stage is fantastic. The music itself reminds me of Ravel's La Valse, which was rejected ballet music. Ironic> haw!
I realize she was chosen for the part because of her ability to dance. Don't get me wrong, she does indeed excel at the craft but personally I would prefer that the ballet scenes be deleted. However, as I said, that's just me. This is still one of my favorite movies of all time. 👍👍
Wasn't she a kid that he was taking care of?? This is creepy and disgusting beyond words. What kind of man does this? It is a movie, but it is still wrong.
@@Michelle-pn9xt - Excuse me. the whole point of casting Leslie Caron (an extremely proficient ballet dancer) in the film was to depict her as an orphan that blossomed into a young woman. Now, if she had been like sixteen years old at the time, then I would tend to agree with you. However, Miss Caron was twenty four when this movie was made - hardly a child. Side note: As I previously said, personally, I could have done without the dancing part. I STILL would have loved the movie because in my opinion, it - and she - along with the rest of the cast was just that good, but be that as it may. Enjoy your day.
What talent. Can't help admirin how Leslie can go from sweet and naive in one moment to mature and sensual in the next. She's beautiful
She's a fantastic dancer. Love the dance scenes and ballet.

Reminds me also of the dance scenario of Slaughter on Tenth Avenue.
To have a pair of legs like that!
The music here is by Alex North.
