I own the first generation of this car. Nearly three years old and still smile every time I get in it. Would recommend to any one. Awesome combination of practicality and hair on fire fun

Absolutely stunning engine sound and exhaust rumble too. New steering wheel, new gearbox and new engine. But only 290 Horsepower. U looks beautiful too

This car reminds me of my old Infiniti Q50S Redsport 400. Even sounds similar too.
390 HP from a 3.0 6 cyl? Almost 20 years ago, a BMW M3 would give 343 HP from a natty 6 cyl that would sing 1500 RPM higher. Turbos on an engine are like makeup on a woman. A cheap way to make one look better. True mechanical talent doesn't need a turbo, just like true beauty doesn't need makeup. Ok, down from my soap box :) nice car, nice vidéo.and when all IS said and done,, Mercedes remains my favorite brand,. Hey it's the oldest. They invented the engine, let's not forget that...(Gottlieb Daimler). No car maker bas a longest history and managed to keep up so well...bravo Anna, thank you.

It's not supposed to be a highly tuned engine. It's intended to have a good balance of power and low-mid range torque. The S54 Bimmer In line did have 343 bhp from a 3.2 NA , but did didn't have much torque and needs to be revved over 6K to get performance. That wouldn't suit an AMG or this model especially.
@@ahemgee9542 highly tuned engine?... any Subaru Impreza or Mitsubishi lancer from 20 years ago can get 300 hp out of a 2.0 4-cylinders... No matter how you slice and dice it: a turbo engine will only rev (at least) 1000 RPM lower than an atmo. But yes, you are right, those days of high-revving screaming engines are by-gone, to the profit of engines with more mid-range torque. For sure, turbos will give that.

Judging from the visible snow on the ground, you must have did some altitude on this drive. Do you notice much of a change of characteristics of the car at altitude?
It's a fairly low mountain pass, about 1200m. No real change other than the temperature which results in a change of grip. There were still places with a little bit of snow.

I bought this one 3 months ago 2019 built in Graphite Grey (new colour) with the ergonomic performance pack that includes the AMG steering wheel the performance exhaust and AMG seats, energising comfort, added to the seats the climate package with cooling and heating
It’s still in the break in stage only 1300 km so far, I don’t drive it much due to my busy schedule and I don’t take it to work for few reasons and I’m hoping I will take it for a long drive on Sunday and I can’t wait for the action to begin after the odometer reaches1500-2000 km I will increase the load gradually as suggested by the sticker on the windscreen.
Protected the paint and interior with Permagard as it’s the only protection approved by MB here in Australia.
And oh yeah Anna I chose the C43 over the C63 due to its usability and practicality and how it behaves on the civil roads.
I do not go to the track in my car instead I can always rent one (C63) if I want to but that’s unlikely.
I’m sooooooo happy with my decision and after watching your video actually it put a smile on my face the way you talk the way you look oh yeah you’re such an elegant classy woman you have my respect

Hi Sam, beautiful choice of a car, not to mention the spec. 1300 km? You gotta get this car on the road! Don't waste it, it's not a garage queen. You gotta give it some hammering on those beautiful Queensland roads :-)
The paint protection is well worth it and I think too often overlooked by most.
I love the C63, don't get me wrong, but I also think for Oz, it's too much. To be honest, anything over 1.2 L in Switzerland is just ego. Including myself, of course, being the worst offender with the biggest ego.
I've spent many years in NZ, but Australia was just terror in terms of controls, I even lived briefly in a very exciting town oft Newcastle ;-)
I'm glad I've managed to put a big smile on your face, at the end of the day, this is the biggest goal x

I will be driving it more often and will give it some hammering on Queensland and NSW roads. I was a bit confused to be honest about how to drive it as many say your engine’s future depends on how you drive the car in the first 1500 km, I did drive it mostly from Brisbane to Gold Coast and I used to put the cruise control on all the time and I just found out it was a bad idea.
Now I drive it without cruise control and I let it change gears frequently.
Last week I took it to Byron Bay as I had a medical conference there it was at Byron resort at Byron and I didn’t know they didn’t have an undercover car park and oh my god every single bird pooped on it and stayed there for 4 days under the sun and baked it.
When I arrived home, I let it cool a bit and washed it using the foam lance twice to loosen up the dirt then hand washed it using 2 bucket methods using microfiber clothes and dryer
The paint was not affected at all so permagard was put to the test and it worked!
I used to only drive BMW FROM 7 series 735i to 545i to 550i so this baby is my first Mercedes and I just love it, I treat it like a human 🤣
Anna, you said you lived briefly off Newcastle, there is a town near Newcastle where I used to holiday in it’s called Nelson Bay people call it Nelson ‘s Bay which is wrong and it’s my favourite place in NSW in terms of beauty and climate.
Now I go to Broadbeach a lot and planning on moving there one day soon.

It used to be the case thta you had to be very careful with new cars, but today, with modern cars, it's not as crucial. Although one does have to take care, not to rev it too high, and yes, avoid using the cruise control. An ideal place is to drive it in and out of the city where the speed varies drastically and so does the gear change. But if you haven't done this, it's not the end of the world. Brands give this advice to bulletproof themselves but in reality, these cars have already spent a significant amount of time on the road.
As to having birds pooping all over your car, well, some say it's good luck! ;-) But in all seriousness, if you have the paint protection, that's one thing less to worry about. At some stage, you gotta let it go, the car will be dirty, there will be some scratches, it's just inevitable with public roads.
Mercs are beautiful but they are also very different from bimmers, interesting swap :-)

This review reminds me of why flat bottom steering wheels are not a good thing.

Dear, I might not be all relevant in terms of design & style, but my old W124 E500 and the 1970 280SL had a lot more style (and less of old-fashioned and fuzzy lines) to them, the two W124 convertibles also, but they started to fall apart already when they had less than 30k on the clock. If you say, there sth 6y and loud in the video, then I say: you don't mean the Merc, no?

I agree, i do not like a lot of gears either. My RX8 had 6 gears, that’s enough.
The 1st four gears are very low, so it takes off rapidly, whilst still having good ratios for cruising and economy on the motorway. It would be slower and less efficient with a 6spd.

My advice to everyone who is in the market for an amazing AMG Coupe, think twice before buying the C63, instead get the C43 you will not regret it trust me I was gonna do it and buy the C63, it’s a beast that you can not control and I bet you if you are in one at the light and I’m in my C43 after the break in period of course I will beat you no doubt I don’t have a launch control and I challenge you to do 0-100 in 3.9 seconds as claimed you will never achieve that instead mine will achieve at least 4.5 seconds at least I’ve seen 4.2 on UA-cam check it out he is a German guy with gloves just like Anna’s gloves I forgot his name but will go and post his name shortly after my message 😂😂😂

My 100% show room stock C43 Sedan with 19" rims and Conti Sport tires ran 0-60 MPH in 4.0 seconds as measured by the Draggy box
at 1000' above sea level and with no 1' rollout (if it had 1' of rollout it would have been even faster, that's how the magazines do it).
The 43 stock is a quick car. With a Stage 2 tune and downpipes it's a monster.

Great car just doesnt deserve the amg badge. Simply because there is nothing amg specific on the car. There are no amg parts on the car just the letters and thats lame as hell. Might aswell put NISMO on it thats how little the amg badges mean on that car.

Hi Shaun, I have lived in Oz, Newcastle to be precise, I've worked in the ship building industry before cars. I've lived for many years in Auckland so travel to Sydney, Melbourne was monthly or so.
I appreciated Australia in many different aspects, but never as much as I do right now, having lived for 4 years in Switzerland. Yes, it is strict, but nothing compared to Switzerland. It goes to show, grass isn't always greener on the other side...

Hmm, oh that is a very very difficult question. I love Lexus, LFA, LC, even the latest RC F Track Edition. But also Ferrari 812 Superfast! Or the Range Rover SVR! Hmm the list is so loooong ;-)
Anna you are right about the color of the AMG C43. So it wasn't easy for you regarding the dream car. Ferrari 812 Superfast doesn't sound silly. The Range Rover SVR, I heard from another UA-camr was lovely but he was less able to refuel it so often and thought it was so thirsty. Have you run any Lamborghini ??

Love this video - the car not so much... Pretender indeed - if you want an AMG, get the proper 63S. Good reminder about the tyres - I had a rental A8 once in Germany, came with winter tyres (in May), and felt like driving in slimy jam. There should be a temperature limit - never to be used when the temp is over 10 degrees (C)... Anyway, loved watching this 😍👍
Would this be comparable to an Alpina D4?
Hmm, it's a tricky answer. The D4 has more torque and in daily life, this will deliver more powerful experience. Both are amazing cars.
