Great information bud! I am loving these SALT 8k’s, they are taxing my interior a bit though! 😂😂😂
Yea that doors in rough shape 😂
Pure Pressure Audio - Anton Miller The repair I made should hold it over till I get in there with the welder and some more steel.. 😁
@@geramyu1 I watch you on tik tok lol
@@Twiistedpyro Very nice! You can check out my FB page @bassescape19 also. the videos are a little longer.. I just started that page so content is slowly starting to show up there..
@@Twiistedpyro no shit your into bass too I love your firework videos homie hit me up on ig hurrikane_ish
Liked the moment you called oops the gain cuz thats real world , awesome, putting one of those amps in a real humvee right now
Question how is that strapped if both negatives from both amps are together?
Nvm had a brain fart lol
Solid video. My two Salt 8s came in the mail and the firs t thing i checked was to make sure the bass knob wasn’t broken lol heard several people had this issue. Now, just gotta find an installer to do the build 🤔
where are you located? i know alot of people in the industry that do amazing work
Pure Pressure Audio - Anton Miller that’s a fun question. I’m a truck driver and I’m all over, my Tahoe, one of the alts, two of the subs, components and one of the lithium’s are in ALT; the amps, two of the subs and one of the alts in near Baltimore; the other two subs are at my place near Tucson. So I’ll say the East Coast. Lol
theres a place called Absolute Electronix about 45 min from baltimore, the owner is Ata. they do a great job!

Yeah, I just picked up an allsun em125, but I've had a uniT clampmeter I like their products was debating on either that for a ometer or an owon. How do you like it? Damn didn't know y'all were bassn in Minnesota? Subscribed
this hand held is great. only bad thing is it sucks batteries like no other.
It's a little tweaky to say but if you want flat summing between subs and midbass you might set the amp to put out 1v then adjust output at the crossover frequency to be .707v. most crossover specs refer to their being -3db. But I'm a nerd
I have an approach that essentially sets it at the point it STARTS the cut off. I'm not terribly interested in the -3 db point. I am interested in the exact point signal is being reduced
What meter are you using to set the gains/frequency ? Plz help
It's a hand held O Scope
Pure Pressure Audio - Anton Miller any specific brand you recommend the one you were using look pretty good
@@cesarhernandez3275 check out the uniT he has or the Owon both are around $200
@@cesarhernandez3275 or ✔ out Allsun too. For pocket scopes ✔ out Seeed studio or Sain Smart. For graphical multimeters ✔ out liumy or mustool. For cheap dso kits ✔ out jye tech

For you, how do you determine the subsonic, low pass frequencies???, and how do you determine what frequency to set the gain at?
gain setting can be done at any frequency technically. since the voltage and clip should happen at the same spot no matter the frequency. the low pass and subsonic all comes down to your individual system. can be used to flatten out a response or used to protect woofers.
Do you know the box rise B on them and how much power they putting out
Box rise would depend on each individual install. I can't remember how much power we ended up with, I do know it was not as much as we wanted on the upgrade from the scv 6000s to these
Id like one these salt amps to run a single 12 makin some serious power but damn they expensive
If you really think about it they're not that expensive. My NS1's were $2k and made a little over 6500 watts @ 14v. The Salt-6 is cheaper and makes more power at only 12v. The SALT amps should save you money on electrical.
What fans are those on the amps
Seafoam
Is that just one Amp on those 4 15s❓
yup, 2 strapped
What is that white thing? Some sort of fan to keep them cool?
Correct they are fans
@@AntonJMiller What are the fans, I might need a few...and thanks

Ye i got an old 2000w amp can't play real loud during summer time in the winter tho be shakin the mirrors
What is the name of the tool you used? What brand and model ?
I don't remember 100% it's a hand held o-scope. Reads ac and dc voltage as well.
The o scope is a UNI-T UT81B. Its a fantastic hand held.
Yeah the uniT or the owon are around $200 they both have good reviews. Seem like good products for the price point...
What kind of battery and how many would be recommended for the salt 4 also would it be fine for 2 15 Sundown zv5 I would greatly appreciate the feedback
the salt 6 is what im going to recommend for 2 zv5s in a proper enclosure. but for the salt 4 i would recommend a yin long lithium bank, like prob a 80 ah bank. but it does depend on your alternator situation.
@@AntonJMiller I appreciate the feedback I was going to up grade to a mechman high output and again thank you
Hey I have a Pure K5 what size battery do you recommend I use .I have a custom alternator, amp is pushing 4 DB drive 12 1250 rms 2500 max!!!! Please someone let me know thanks!!!!
Nice
Anyone know if his bass knob look is compatible with the nvx bass knob....and since I think the nvx xad16 8000w rms is a copy of the sundown 8000watt rms amp....both use the telephone cord style of connection .....just want to confirm this with anyone since this sundown bass knob is better
Likely not compatible
Are they at a Half Ohm❓
1 ohm on the strapped pair so .5 ohm each yes
Pure Pressure Audio - Anton Miller okay 👌🏾 Smooth do you think those Amps are better than the Crossfire 8ks❓
Why wouldn’t you just gain match/ phase match the amps? I have my 2 scv 7500s gain and phase matched. I’ve heard it’s harder on the amps when they are strapped. Just curious is all. But killer build! I’m about to step up to 2 salt 8s as well soon.
@@TheIronman0000 strapping works great. Also leaves zero to next to zero risk if any phase issues.
What are the box specs?
roughly a 2:1 4th order, about 2.5 cubes sealed per sub and i typically use 30% cone area for port area in 4ths. now we are running into some issues with port noise so we need to play with the port again :)
Thanks man...have 2 12" zv5 12's going on a wolfram 7500 this week.

Whats a good size lithuim battery to run it at .5 n which other one for a 1 ohm
This build geramy has a 160ah yin long bank with 390 amp alt. One could assume for half power you would need half that bank or so.
I'd do at least 200 AHs or more plus a HO alt for 5k+
To keep stable voltage
Still a cool video 💪
Why set SSF and LPF at 25-45 Hz that’s limiting the bandwidth & frequency response.. even if it’s 3db it’s affecting his sound and score. It’s at least 3db b/c the filters are 24db per octave so setting at 45 means 90 Hz is down 24 dB, 67.5 Hz is down -12db. I bet his high peak is between 46 & 52 Hz.
Also using a sine sweep in his playing range say 20hz-60Hz is the best way to set gains with an Oscope like you have. Enables u to play clean & loud as possible at every frequency.
We aren't really limiting the range, we have to control the subwoofers from over excursion on higher frequencies.
As long as your input signal is flat you do not need to use the RTA method as you described. You really only need to do the sweep or range of freq if your using an augmented input signal
Oh it 2 Salt 8k my fault....🤦🏾♂️

What type oscilloscope are you using bro
The o scope link is in the description.
Or just use a DSP for the xover settings....infinitely better, accurate, and versatile than onboard amplifier xovers.
truely is the easiest way. but not many people in the spl community have those.
13:43 "gotta get working on this port" obviously hes not happy with those pos salt amps hahaha
the amps are amazing just the 4th order was built and designed for less power. so we need to adjust for the beast amps!
Damn, that sucks bro. As much 🍞 as ppl are dropping on SALTs, the least Sundown could do is ✔ for QC on the remote connections like they do on their in-house assembled ultra high excursion subs...
11:00 it is made in china for a reason lol.......
