Only three of us this year having a roast chicken, homegrown squash, homegrown potatoes, homemade rolls, green beans from garden. I made cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. The pumpkin came from the garden. Almost everything came from garden or pantry. You can do it if you use your imagination. Happy thanksgiving and God bless. Remember family, friends is what really makes the day ps and your pets
Thanks Jinne. I read that Bruce’s yams are grown and packed in North and South Carolina. Buying those canned yams can help provide sales income to those two states who were hit so hard by the hurricane and struggling to recover and also support a Made in the USA company too.
You can take bread, cans of turkey and cream of mushroom or chicken for an easy turkey dressing. Throw some noodles in boullion and some green beans and you have a feast. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.🦃
I am making a turkey pot pie this year. I’m making it from what I have already and there should be enough for leftovers. Hubby wants stuffing and I will make deviled eggs. And maybe some pumpkin pecan cinnamon rolls for desert. Or just a can of fruit salad.
I can't afford a turkey this year however I have everything else in my pantry. I bought ground turkey. I will make patties with mashed potatoes, peas , stuffing, Hawaiian rolls ($1.69), pumpkin pie for desert. ...cool whip if there's still one in the freezer but ok if not. Snacks while watching the Macy's parade will be fresh pineapple and sausage balls. It's not like I usually have but I'm happy with it. I've not seen canned turkey at DT but will certainly watch for it. Your DT menu sounds great! Love your videos. Always very informative. Thank you!! Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
You are such a sweetheart. I adore your voice and demeanor. I would listen to you tell me how to scrape greese from a frying pan. Haha. Seriously, you always have great ideas about everything and always uplifting ❤. Hugs are being sent to you from Canada. 😊
Yesterday I made cranberry sauce from dried sweetened cranberries. I just added some water and cooked it till the cranberries broke down. It was very good and much better than that slime in a can.
Just 3 of us. Turkey, homemade noodles with my sons help, stuffing, biscuts, mashed potatoes, gravey, banana pudding and a pumpkin roll. A little work, but some is not homemade. Togetherness is key. Thankful hearts make for a happy home and a very grateful season. Thanks, that was great ideas!
Great idea and assortment of foods. In case others do not know Grocery Outlet, in our area NE California, is offering turkeys for 3.99 per turkey, not per pound, with a limit of 1 bird per person.
Thank you for the helpful ideas!! We simplified Thanksgiving🦃 dinner a few years ago so no one is stressed. Makes for a relaxing day and we focus on being thankful to God for His blessings.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This year it’s just going to be the two of us. We’re going to have dinner at the resort where I work, they put on a huge feast as a thank you for staff. It’s an excellent meal and we always thoroughly enjoy it, but this doesn’t provide leftovers, so I’m DEFINITELY going to make your casserole and probably at least some of the sides. Thank you for the terrific ideas! As the boys spend more time with their girlfriends and their families, this may be our new tradition.❤🇺🇸
Very good ideas for those with small bidget and or small number of people for the meal. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, abd I wish you a blessed day!❤❤❤😊😊
That is really great, Jinne. I love this! I almost never share on social media, but this one is going out. We may have to do something like that next year. I am pressing myself to put on a fair-sized Thanksgiving because we just never know, between the world, our health, anything God bless you and yours for Thanksgiving and always.
It is just my daughter & me. I will be cooking a a half turkey breast, a slice ham steak, green beans, mash potatoes and gravy with brown and serve rolls.
I ended up getting a 13lb bird for 5 bucks at one of local grocery stores they were on sale 37¢ a lb and you didn't have to spend any extra to get it for that. Winner winner turkey dinner. Have a great day.
Hi JenneI know this is way off topic but have you bought any Classico sauce lately? I loved buying because the sauce is good and I could get an extra canning jar. All I had to do was put a regular mouth lid and ring and can away. However, I just picked up my order from Walmart and the jars have changed. Its still the same 24 ounce jar and it still says Atlas Mason on it but, you can no longer use a regular mouth lid. They changed it to a lug jar lid. I use lug jars for canning but I can get those buying my Ragu pasta sauce. Yes, I've tried making homemade sauce but, I suck at it so I buy mine. Anyway,Ragu costs almost a dollar less and I still get a glass jar to can in. Its just a lug jar. I just wanted to give you a heads up in case it hasn't hit your stores yet.
Hello, I also like Classico. I have canned tomatoes but making the sauce does not happen in my kitchen, I have tried but....nope. I haven't noticed the jars lately because I haven't bought any. I did like the size since sometimes I started running short on what I was canning but had more than a pint but less than a quart. Thanks for the heads up.
@@gailoreilly1516 You're welcome. Keep in mind that you can still use the jars as canning jars but you have to save the lid that came with the jar. I use 4 lug jars for all my canning needs with no problems. I just liked that I could use a regular mouth lid and ring with the Classico. Not anymore. At least for me in North East Florida.
I have not seen the lug lids recently, I picked up Quart jars at Bj's a few weeks ago and they were the same lids... Classico did this a few years back with the lug lids, and then switched bac to the regular lids... Hopefully it's just temporary this time as well. If you have a vacuum chamber or oxygen absorbers, I like those jars for vacuum sealing. Shhhh... in a pinch I have reused the lug lids for canning, they still seal and do great for a few more uses. 😉
@@HomesteadCorner I hope it is temporary too. I really like the size and the ease of using them. I do use lug jars all the time for canning. water bath and pressure canning. Never had a problem with them. Some places overseas thats all they can with. Some countries don't have ball jars like we do. I know those lug jars saved my hiney back in 2020 when you couldn't get canning supplies.I just used my old ragu and prego jars. I think its called Filmore or maybe its the container store but we can buy the lug jars here. They are a bit pricey though. I figure why buy them empty when I can get food in them then use them for canning. Thanks for answering me. I appreciate it.

Sounds like a good old-fashioned homegrown Thanksgiving! The best kind don’t forget don’t bring the phone unless you’re holding the winning end!

You could make a really good meatloaf with the ground turkey, or add cooked ground turkey to stuffing mixture. Happy Thanksgiving 🍁.
@shellyrs6564 Good ideas. Thank you!!

It’s all ultra processed food. RFk is going to not like you for that!
Happy Thanksgiving!
