Jonathan, I've been following you for a couple years now. I love that you've gone back to the old basic truck with topper. I drive a pickup truck, and I love how I can relate to the way you're camping and exploring. I honestly lost interest when you got a camper as thats not something I imagine myself doing - hanging out inside a camper. I can however, imagine myself doing what you are doing now on the weeks / weekends I have off with my son. being outside and enjoying it. Love your humility. Don't chase after money - money will follow you when you are enjoying what you do. It's out of that joy the nature of the kind of work you do, shows itself as its best work possible. Appreciate you brother.
Hi Johnathan, I went back to your videos 2, 3, and 4 years ago to look at your different setups. You had 2 really nice truck topper builds. Take a good look at what you had and how happy you were with those. Remember that it's not the camper we're interested in; it is YOU and your content that we enjoy, and you don't have to be a salesman.
Yes. Subscribers get immediately turned off when a channel they follow turns into a QVC infomercial
Speak for yourself, personally I enjoyed his camper vids much more and skipping through a 1 or 2 min sales pitch for him to get paid does not bother me at all.
(Coming from someone with a topper on their 2500)
He is backkkkk❤❤❤❤
Anyone else missing the truck camper & the puppy?
Bro the simple camping and rigs are why I like to watch. That’s how I found your channel.
Love when you cook in the woods
There's nothing wrong with the basics . 😊
True!
The truck with that bel air camper shell you had while back was one of best designs I seen for your half ton trucks.
BelAir makes a great old school style camper. They work. I did similar for years on my F 250. Now my primary is an S10 with very similar top he has now. Not the same. But it works on the cheap
Yeah that was a sweet setup! Great mix of spacious camper but still minimal and simple.
Its very good to see you back making videos johnathan! I look forward to the future ones!
Thanks for coming back….Keep chasing your dreams….Always 😎
The Pacific Northwest is truly a magical place. 🌲 Thanks for sharing.
Stunning as always
Hey @JonathanYentch! 😊 To me, and I'm sure to everyone else watching, it doesn't matter what rig or setup you have - we're here for the adventure! 🚴🏾♂️ No matter what changes you or the channel go through, we'll always be here for the journey. 🌍💪🏾 Keep doing your thing! ✨
Always enjoy watching your videos Jonathan, regardless if it’s basic or fancy 😊
I couldn't agree more. Every destination requires didn't amenities. There's nothing fun about freezing and frostbite. I have a 42' toyhauler with all the options for the family and toys but have been wanting a truck camper for simpler trips. I also have a few tents and enjoy each set up for different things. No matter what now that I'm getting older I always have to have a toilet and shower but that just may be me. To each their own and there's nothing wrong with that as long as we're getting out into nature
Ah beautiful….snow….white all around❄️❄️❄️. It is so….so hot in OZ. Summer has started🔥🔥🔥….oven temperature….miss the cold weather.
Where is oz?
Love your set up. Simple is the best
I like these simpler camping videos. You being less comfortable is more entertaining 😂 and also more real.
Is that a corgi in your profile pic! Cute ☺️
Got to love the simple camping.
@ Yeah, that’s Miss Maggie. She’s a good girl.
A beautiful video. I love that you went back to simplicity. Music great. 😊😊
Yes….Yes….good spot….peaceful….magnificent views!!! Oh well cold for a sleep over but surely you are up for the challenge.
Love that you are back. Puts a smile on my face❤🎉
Glad to have you here 🙂
It really is a beautiful location and you have a good thrifty set up. I wish everyone could escape the grind and sleep in nature like this a few times a month
liked that ending, like a movie!
Now that was a good video my man!
You can NEVER have too much tzatziki sauce.
I was thinking that too 😂
I can just eat it straight it so goooood
What I love about you is switching rigs all the time. I do the same thing that’s half the fun 😂😂every time I think I have the perfect set up. I decide I’d like to try something else. Yes I regret getting rid of some of my other rigs, but I don’t regret the fun adventure. I have with each one. Rock on my brother.😊
Watching the basics makes me appreciate my truck camper even more!
Chips in sammys 💯
That was a really cool place
UA-cam family enjoy your videos be safe
Thank you for watching!
Thankyou
I’d suggest a Gazelle tent for winter camping. Sets up in under 2 minutes,, large enough for a cot, chair and small table. Buddy heater, roomy enough to cook in if you’re solo. A great tent to keep your gear in and keep dry even if you sleep in the pickup.
He’s backkkk❤❤❤
I love your videography and the still shots of the landscape. I get to enjoy the start of winter weather in the PNW without enduring the cold myself! Your cooking talents makes healthy eating look easy, even with limited equipment.
How nice and peaceful. May God bless you brother.
Enjoying the basic setup again 👌 always great videos Johnathan!
Ashley in Arizona
My wife and I sometimes sleep in the back of our Kia Niro with our black lab in the front seat when camping. We take minimal gear and put most of it in a rooftop cargo box. It's cozy, but it works.
Chips in a sandwich are the best....great video!
The Title Says it All ❤️ Great Camp minus the waste The Snow WOW
Sweet setup! I love how you have created a beautiful and useful rig for you. Loved the cinematography and music. You have a real talent for putting together a good movie. Thanks.
A thought ..get sponsor for one those lipo5 power stations. And run a heater blanket with a zero degree bag. Sleeping in the cold. There are some150- 300 watts heaters that might help take chill down a bit. Can be run on power station with enough wattt hrs.
Thanks for sharing Jon! I was thinking about taking an extended road trip up to Washington state and sleeping in my mini van but after the story about you and your dog in the rain i think ill stay put here in sunny southern california for now lol but the trees sure do look good this time of year ;) 🌲
This back to the basic is more fun to watch than before. ngl
That's how I camped last season at the ski hill. Didnt have to, just wanted to. Roughing it is fun too!
Keep us posted on those tires. Those are the exact tires recommended to me by a local 4x4 shop here in Olympia!
That’s what I do!!!! I LOVE chips on my sandwich!❤
This is the way!
I like the area
😊
I lived full time out of my Toyota Tacoma for a year and a half in Portland and about a year and a half in San Diego. My shell was flush with the height of the cab. I didn’t have any sliding windows, vent, fan, electric, fridge, or any source of heat. I had a full size bed on a platform that didn’t allow me to sit up when I was In the back. I kinda forgot how rough it was. So much water would enter in the cracks in the corners… your Olympics story brought me back. Small wet spaces can be so challenging!

The set up looks like what a friend was selling near mt hood :)
Remember what got you to this point basically...which were just the simple basic truck camping down to earth videos. No need to overthink it...we love these simple, super cool adventure videos we've been guaranteed to get when we watch you. Keep rocking brother!!
Bear poop in the woods, but unless a Rabbit is nearby, they usually don't wipe!
Hello Johnathan, thank you for sharing your awesome outdoor adventure.
Tom Dick and Harry Trail off of Mirror Lake trail up to the ridgeline is a great hike last 200 ft pretty vertical. East end you can see where the ski jump was located in the 1930s still. Good luck with your snowboarding this year Timberline Lodge ski area open now.
I have travelled in that type of truck set up for years and there are definitely drawbacks. But I hope you don't give up on it too quickly. Drier warmer days are ahead!!
In his area, not for 8 months.
So happy to see you back. Back to the basics is cool
Take care
You are the man, Jon! Never stop creating.
We have those same tires on our 4Runner. Very good in the rain here in the Portland area, you're going to love them.
It’s good to see you back. I enjoy watching your videos.
Jonathan…there’s no such thing as too much tzatziki 😉
Thank you for a nice simple adventure. As long as you’re happy that’s all that matters. I will watch your vi even if you’re in a tent. Take care
Love Oregon winter hikes
"Go out there and.....get a new camper u love" lifes too short 💕🤙
I watch your videos to tag along, no matter what you're doing, because you're such a personable and unpretentious fellow. That being said, it's also fun yo live vicariously through you, and I, personally, would hate camping in your car set-up when you previously used a first-rate truck camper. I get it though...you were bored and felt we must be too. So you need to satisfy yourself for sure. But don't think that we need to be presented with thrilling content (much of what we see from other camping UA-camrs is contrived anyways)...just hanging out with you has always been enough! ✌️🇨🇦
So... Anna Uncharted! I am pretty sure there would be good friendship there!
I’ve always said the same!
Potato chips in your sandwich is the best!!
I was stationed on the Olympic peninsula for 2 years and absolutely loved it ! Great places to camp I had a taco just like yours to at the time was able to take that thing anywhere!
glad to see you back brother. you do you,
I’m impressed that you did not sell out. I like the simple basic camping scenarios. Some of these guys get theses Sponcers and start having things the average Joe can’t have. The reason I watch is is how down to earth you are. Now even more that you are not a sell out.
Did I miss an episode? What happened to the dog?
Much more simple and manageable. Once again great sound ambience.
I had the same tires, they do hold up well.
I enjoyed your video . I bought a bel aire camper shell after seeing yours. And I have really been enjoying it. I was concerned at first because I'm from Oregon and we get a lot of rain. But I haven't had any problems with it since I made it waterproof. LOL I am now down here in Arizona for the winter and it's been a really great camper.
Good to have you back cowboy
I have missed you ❣️❣️
Hello Jonathan
Always Enjoy Your Camping Videos ..
Nice to See You Back !!👍
Amazing camera setups.
One best things is the scenery in the woods in the NW. I bet you miss the comfort of the campers. Rain is the number one one killer camping enjoyment. Maybe you can rig a canopy off the Bach of the truck in case rain.
Love the new rig👊🏼
I love your videos! no matter what! Cheers from SC
Glad to see your back to basics that’s the best way to enjoy the world we live in great choice of tires btw I like them and the bf Goodrich at
Thank you for sharing
The seasons are definitely shifting ❄️ Excited to see how the new minimalist setup works in the mountains. 🏔️ Can’t wait to follow along on this adventure and the next! 🌲
Nice little video -- I enjoy all the interstitial shots that you take the time to set up. Up here in the PNW we have been getting tons of rain lately, and it makes me jealous to hear regular reports about snow in the mountains. The only things I miss about the campers are Kaya, the more detailed cooking bits, and the occasional appearances by your sweetie. 😉
Amazing video, nice vibes through all of it, thank you.
Have had the AT4Ws on my truck for a month now and im loving them! Rain/snow no problem!
Thank you JY
Man beautiful videography just the cinematic and the shots the music beautiful work 👍
Back to basics , I love it all you need is some pullout you can go to more palces than the F-250 could ever offer 👍
Definitely much more accessibility and simplicity. Very much looking forward to getting further into the backcountry!
Mirror Pond Ale is named after the section of the Deschutes River that goes through downtown Bend. It’s not named after Mirror Lake.
Good camp. Have same type rig on my S 10. One person show. All good from east KY USA
Good to see you back out. Thanks for the videos.
I got the same fridge I use it in my truck.
So pretty,thanks for sharing….
Your dog should’ve come with clear plastic bags and large beach towels for those NW adventures. It seems to be wetter than usual this November. 👍🏻🇺🇸☕️🍩🍜
Watching your videos are like taking a quick, mini road trip-while still warm & dry in my living room. Beautiful area. Stay warm. Hmm. Where will Jonathan end up this week?
Id love to see you do a collab video with Steve Wallis
So excited to see another JY video!
Excited to have ya here!
Oh, Jonathan I was so disappointed when there was no "WOOOP" when you took your first drink of coffee.☕😋
Enough of the whoooo lah. Time for a change.
i agree. sometimes things don't need to change.
He doesn't do it anymore.
@@bleuskye8124 nope, his channel, his video, his decision. no big deal.
I miss that also
The beer is actually named after the Mirror Pond on the Deschutes river in the middle of Bend, where the brewery is.
Love your videos, keep up the good work!
Mirror Pond Ale is named after the central pond in Bend, Mirror Pond. Not Mirror Lake on Hood. Also... I'm pretty sure there's no hut or cabin on Tom Dick & Harry mountain above mirror lake. Unless you're thinking of the upper mountain hut @ Skibowl.
Its UA-cam, but this channel's production values network TV quality. The video craft is incredible.
From Winnipeg, Canada. Thanks for sharing!
2:20 I figured Mirror Pond on the Deschutes River in Bend is where the Deschutes Brewery got the name for Mirror Pond.
Paddleboarding that section of the river, which goes through Drake Park, is wonderful in the summer. Though it gets crowded with all the tube floaters.
I haven't gotten up to a Sno-Park in Mt Hood area yet but I'd like to do Government Camp.
