    As a custom painter from decades ago. No comment. The airbrush has strokes, most use it as a small spray can, like you are doing. Your inside corners are not getting coverage. If you took a few minutes to warm up and use the airbrush properly your coverage would be even including inside corners. Dagger strokes are crucial for blending. Daggers, dots (small to big and back to small), and I always do some lettering as this is the easiest warm up since you already know how to write it allows you to focus on perfect strokes. Then when you think you are warmed up...add a perfect drop shadow to your lettering.
    Good luck

    Hello JMB I appreciate your comment and your input will give me something to research and study I’ve never heard those terms before so that should confirm my FNG status 😂 My goal was to have highlights and lowlights as I find complete one color coverage boring Thanks again for taking the time to share this and it really gives me somewhere to go

    I started airbrushing my leather about 6 months ago after I had watched Makers Leather show how to do it. It's the only way to go in my book now. I use far less dye and the colors I use are true to the color I want. As you mentioned it dries fast and easy to use. No more chasing those dauber streaks and wind up using far more dye than what I needed and losing the original color I wanted. I also enjoy the fact that you can do the fading technique around the edges. As usual another great video.

      Thanks my friend You described it perfectly and whenever I airbrush something, even at a basic level, I think about all the “chased streaks” of the old dauber daze 🤣 Thanks again Tim

    I just airbrushed a holster earlier this week. I think you saw it on Facebook. The airbrush really opens up some new possibilities when it comes to dying leather work.

    I got an airbrush and I love it. Can't stress enough ventilation and a mask. I tried it out in my small workshop with neither and after a minute I thought I was gonna cough up a lung. Don't make the mistake I did. Now I do it outside and with a mask

      That is so true That atomized dye vapor goes deep I should have given more time to discuss that other then a written banner across screen Thanks my friend!

    One thing I like with using an air brush for leather is getting 2-3 different tone colors. Much like a Fender Stratocaster guitar 3 tone color finish.

      That’s my favorite part of that several shades and can never be replicated by dauber!! Thanks

    Nice work, and I also started using an airbrush but I like the type you have so you can leave the canisters set aside and clean the system easier than what mine is, it has the bowl incorporated and it's a pain to clean it out.

      @@GaryGraley42 Thanks Gary It definitely was a dye game changer for me too but I get the frustration with having the attached bowl to clean I appreciate the support

      @viktorgeorge9144  6 місяців тому

      Thank you Frank Yes the colors stay true and consistent No dauber dying can match it I usually stay with traditional browns but using blue, yellow (Fiebings Buckskin) and red are bright and look great too Plus it dries in minutes and uses less dye

    What brand or type of airbrush do show in the video? It seems to hold a good amount of dye. Also could I use Indian ink on leather?
    Many thanks.

      @@lagunafishing It’s an inexpensive airbrush system from Harbor Freight (Central Pneumatic) Works great until you choose to upgrade
      I’ve been using this one for over a year without issue
