  • Skyline drive is a remote mountain road and amazing overlanding route. The road stretches between highway 6 and highway 70 just south of Salt Lake City Utah. This road is amazing for alpine meadows and riddled with dispersed camping and boondocking campsites. At an elevation of between eight and nearly eleven thousand feet the temperatures on Skyline drive are perfect for the blazing hot summer months with an average of 65 degrees F. The road is long, around 100 miles and can be extremely confusing so a good GPS may be necessary to stay on track. Here I made camp at Emerald lake and the spot couldn't be more picturesque and perfect. Skyline drive is also a great place for hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, biking and boondocking or dispersed camping. Also it's a must do for overlanding and anybody who enjoys the mountains. The narrow dirt road is known for winding along the backbone of Utah along the Wasatch mountain range. Regardless if you're serious into overland roads, trails and routes or if you just like scenic drives Skyline drive is an amazing drive to take.

Thanks! And don’t make the mistake I did. Also there’s bound to still be snow up there so heads up 🫡🤠👍

@@RealAdventureTheory yeah I have Gaiagps and Onx offroad. Researched it all out and saw that area at twelve mile campground where it could be confusing. We leave July 14th from SOCAL and won't be up there until around the 17th so hopefully the snow is gone or at least most of it. Your video is the best one out there for this route and again thank you!

Wow, this place is isolated but absolutely beautiful. a boon docking paradise for sure. I would take off my shoes, walk barefoot to ground myself and really feel the oneness with nature. You certainly picked a nice place to camp out. Just wondering if bears, wolves and other animals frequent/live in this area.

It really is a great area. Reminds me of back home in Alaska. There are cougars and bears etc but I never really worry about them. I keep a clean camp and a 357 magnum.
