KEXP has a knack for landing bands and artists at the complete ends of the spectrum. Besnard Lakes, War on Drugs, and then stuff like this. There are so many great bands from Columbia, Costa Rica, Cuba, and they had to go with this low-talent low-effort scream/shout music. Terrible. The film crew and engineers did a great job regardless. Love KEXP even if they let terrible bands like this make an appearance.
...or you could also just move on. Why shouldn't this band be on here? I mean, they're touring all over te world with their music. Their live shows are wild. There are many people who absolutely LOVE their stuff. Apart from their technical excellence, KEXP is good at offering a wide range of music, and that really is their biggest plus. Fuck uniformity in general, and fuck uniformity in arts especially. It's about expression and what it evokes, not about being "the best skilled musician", not about striving to be (or sound) perfect (whatever that may be) and not about competing in any way. There's no need for competition or comparison in music.
@@artuurb7457honestly I think you and I would probably agree on more things than we disagree if we were to go have a beer. I agree completely on your comments regarding uniformity. Music is my hobby. Some people like sports, some of us like to enjoy an extraordinarily wide variety of music. I can't stand this type of music. It's esoteric, shouty and talentless. Maybe some people love it. I just happen to be one of the people out there that doesn't. Volume does not equal intensity. Enthusiasm does not equal talent. Anyone could accidentally make this type of music. Again just my two cents. KEXP has been bringing phenomenal bands to the masses for years. They have an amazing track record, and their sound engineers are some of the best in the industry. So many of my favorite bands have been brought on as guests, and I have discovered many of my new favorite bands through the station.
@@hotconductor4749 I don't agree that this is talentless or low-effort or whatsoever, hence my comment. I do understand that it's not for everyone though. But it's plain bullshit to state that anyone 'could accidentally' make this type of music. Even if 'anyone' could, well... they don't. They'd rather type some comments on UA-cam or do other things that don't require perseverance, creativity, a lot of patience and so much more. It's just not for you, that's it. Also, the intensity they bring has not much to do with volume.
@@PortsladeBySea i have to politely disagree. I wish them all the fame, success and riches of all time. but i for sure would hope to never hear this ever again.

@@Spacefall87 if you don't want to read opinions, feel free to stay out of the comment section of any video. This band sucks.

They’re great. I’ve bought a ticket for their Brighton concert 🫢🥁🎧🎶
