I love that they’ve kept the atmosphere of a castle instead of covering it all up. Beautiful place.
What a joy to see a beautifully restored chateau,without hearing dodgy music and inane selling voiceovers.The video showed us all the details but gave us the bigger picture too.

Imagine.....through all the centuries those huge fireplaces, roaring with huge fires. It is great to see they are still in use. So many have been closed up in other places that I have seen
Or changed over to coal...
The masonry around the windows are spectacular I don’t remember ever seeing them done that way

Lovely! Well restored while keeping it a period property. Love the out buildings too. Best I have ever seen. Love the shutters which can allow lots of light in, but be closed for darkening also. Even has a medieval dining room in the attic. Would love to have this precious one! Tours and medieval banquets could supplement the budget. If there's enough land, could be good for hunting parties. Or anything. Hope new owners are loving it and not making it look too modern.
The wealth of old France is truly amazing. Deep in my mind I could hear the strains of the Internationals.

So nice to see a well restored chateau instead of an over restored and hypermodernised chateau. Wooden windows and ceilings, stone walls, old ceramic floors. We do not own such places, we can be only keepers to leave them to the next generations so we must keep them as authentic as possible

Entirely rebuilt. Probably a ruin restored. Cement mortar everywhere... Weird architecture... Front wooden door very recently made. Etc.
A nice place for sure, but authenticy... I kept on reserve. my opinion.
I saw many same kind of renovation operations and sometimes I feel sad cose of lack of respect of the old ways of building. When it s done yu can t easily come back and remake it as original was.

Unless you had an entire retinue to live in the chateau, you could live in (and heat) just the rooms needed. The building has survived without heat for quite a long time, an advantage of stone.

It has been rebuilt I guess.
This one is quite ugly. Ancient, 12 th century. Look at the massive central block...curving walls...high windows inserted in wherever. Addition s, the more you look at it, the more beautiful it becomes. It's life has seen many changes and many different owners with many styles. The interior is gorgeous, oh so lovely to look at. Someone has been busy cleaning it up and making it a sweet lady. I stand corrected, it is lovely and sweet....e
