@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT at this point for me I stopped caring about the championship and only the individual races. I hope NASCAR can change the points system but unless the Steve’s are out then there’s no hope. So I like watching the races atleast there still enjoyable
@@spideyditko64 I watch less NASCAR races nowadays and just go by what I want to watch. the current management and administrations of NASCAR doesn’t care about Motorsports fans, and what drivers, teams and even the OEM’s. Literally anybody that knows how actual racing works. The current management is hopeless. Sadly NASCAR Land will have to wait for someone who actually knows how Motorsports works that can lead NASCAR one day. Oh and remember when a “potential” NASCAR Split talk earlier this year? Personally, I wish for that to happen because nobody in NASCAR sees eye to eye anymore and it would be nice to have a fresh start for a big national stock car series. I know it sounds stupid and silly, but hey, NASCAR has been doing this to themselves for almost 2 decades. Might as well
I sometimes think that the powers that be in nascar are determined to ruin the sport entirely. It's so weird. They keep doing the wrong thing over and over. I do love the idea of hybrids, tho.
I don’t think the problem is a lack of horsepower but HOW the downforce is produced. Also with the 18 inch tires there’s more grip in the tires. Also maybe NASCAR should use a CVT at Martinsville since a CVT doesn’t shift gears.
I wish NASCAR was not only willing to do anything, but would also just do that. Change championship format, add more tread to the tires, move to an 800 HP package, and get way more downforce. This is what fans and drivers want, but they're still chasing stadium and street course races. How can they be so willing to spend money on things we didn't ask for, and not investments based on what everyone else actually wants?
That’s part of racing… crashes happen no matter how slow or fast any cars in racing are. Plus they can act like they care about safety, which they don’t, since they encourage silly garbage gimmicks. So them worrying about “driver’s safety” is slim
Also more horsepower means more blown engines, which means they have to clean up the track etc. Maybe that's why Nascar doesn't want to add more horsepower
We need to go hybrid for the 900hp? If youre referring to cost then yeah i guess, but look at the gen 4, that thing had 900 raw horsepower, no electronic bs
The very reason teams are losing sponsorship and money is because they started diluting the series and it started with the Horsepower cuts. When the racing doesn't feel legitimate any longer people don't watch and when people don't watch sponsorship leaves but unfortunately we do not have the right people running the sport. Give the customers us the fans what we ask for or like in any other business we can take our money and time on Sundays elsewhere and thats exactly what has happened and in turn the TV viewership and race attendance are way down and sponsors do not see a good return on investment and are backing out. Think about it we do not even have a title sponsor for our top series and that should tell us everything we need to know.
Also NASCAR is its own worst enemy when it comes to sponsorship and has basically run off so many companies. For instance not allowing alcoholic spirit companies to sponsor anyone Also disallowing same business space competition such as cellular and internet companies. This regime has just done a horrible job at every level if we are completely honest.
It wouldn't surprise me if these recent moves by NASCAR are in anticipation of going hybrid in the near future. Maybe they're testing something out so that they can go hybrid in the future without increasing the horsepower of the engine. Maybe there's some politics involved too. Who knows? Wonder what Honda would think... 🤔
I think NASCAR is scared of the owners revolting due to prices, because NASCAR refuses to do any of their own R&D. Owners are the ones footing the bill.
I wouldn’t mind more horsepower, but it isn’t the problem. Xfinity has been running similar hp for years and produces great racing at road courses and short tracks. And this easy increase isn’t back to 950hp it is closer to 750-800hp. About 4 months after increasing it we’ll be having the same conversation again that we need more hp. If it happens I just hope people don’t complain right that it’s not enough because then you’re talking too much of in increase on the teams.
I don’t think NASCAR is going get a new OEM until the engine is stable., I think this engine is to last until 2024-2026. TV Deal is signed., the Charter System needs to be extended. The engine is due 2025 I think. ….. I say pull the tapered spacers AT ALL TRACKS. The Goodyear can get the tires under control. No I don’t believe the 18 rims are leaving it was said that’s the only thing that can clear the new brakes. we don’t need to reengineer the wheels and hubs., we can hold that as something that won’t change and evolve.
NASCAR just wants everything their way 💯. They don’t even listen to the owners or drivers and they damn sure don’t care about the fans input. None of that matters is always going to be their way and that’s that. This sport has changed so much throughout the years and not always for the better. And now it’s just keeps getting worse. Because of nascars take it or leave it attitude. When I first started watching racing and that was years ago it was exciting and fun now I really don’t even care if I don’t see the race or not. And at the rate it’s going I doubt I’ll ever go to another live race again. It’s not like it was before. NASCAR is ruining the sport.
I remember not too long ago when we could actually hit 200 mph on superspeedways on a lap-to-lap basis
You remember why NASCAR stepped away from that, right?
NASCAR is scared of being a legitimate Motorsports series
It’s more complicated then that
@@spideyditko64 oh and not only that, TV is one of the reasons why the gimmicks are still there, sadly

They’re still trying to chase the casual fans which will never watch
At this point, i won't be shocked if the drivers started a walkout in the near future about not getting more horsepower in the car.
Why not put 1000 hp in the simulator and see what happens?
It would do NASCAR a lot of good to just try it
Maybe it’s because they know that more horsepower means more speed, which leads to more high speed crashes, which leads to more driver injuries.
