However, I think it works very well with the current engine/transmission combination. It's those who haven't driven it that make those arguments.

Thanks, Hannes. Your video showed just how versatile the Forester is. I liked that little hill climb you did, showing the capability of the AWD and the ground clearance. I would like to suggest turning down the background music, as it was competing with your voice and IMO didn’t enhance the video.
I love Subies. Had seven. The boxer engine isn't fuel efficient, and for that reason will never be a top leader. But it isn't terrible and for what it is, it is a safe stable and very enjoyable to drive. I enjoy the ergonomics and the little things like the feel of the stalks etc. But i am sad that Subaru is losing it key definition. Like frameless windows, full mag, muscle engine, real gear box. This leaves it in the middle of no where. it is no longer a good tow vehicle, it is not a off roader, and it isn't a far reaching ranger for touring. there was always only four reasons to buy a Subie. I safe to drive, it will handle swerves and curves better than others. 2 safe to crash in, better crumble zone design. Safer reliability, cape to Cairo isn,t out of the question. safe to go anywhere, no one will take it from you. but are they losing the edge, because there is no other reason to buy one!
As a Scooby fan (and owner) there are indeed some things you are saying that hits home. I do think, however, that they're still excellent cars, but that they're not longer as "individualistic". Would still love to have a new Outback !
Are you sure it's a space saver spare wheel? Thought it was a full size steel. Apparently, because it's permanent AWD, it's inadvisable to use a space saver for an extended period. Can anyone confirm?
Why is it, at the front of every long line of cars stuck driving 10 under the speed limit, is a Subaru? SLOWEST DRIVERS EVER! I’m convinced the Subaru factory makes their cars drive slower than the speedometer is showing, on purpose. You all need to figure it out.

Yes so far so good. This is actually my 2nd Subaru Forester . I also have 2015 model, ...and I’ve had no major issues!

As you can see from the visuals, that is definitely a space-saver.
So ridiculous to have a space saver for the spare.
Also, there is a clip on the SUV Battle channel where the Rav4 whacks the Subaru off-road...
