Love the video! Quick question @Jorvic Salazar, do use any software or website to set up the randomised auto rotating pictures synced with your timer? I'd love to do the same exercise myself but its not the same when you have to stop after each one to manually pick the next picture and then manually restart the timer, etc.
No I just group them together in folders and either open and close them as I use them or open a bunch on top of each other and close them as I draw them. I use editing software to make them appear and disappear in the videos.
Hey Jorvic. I've been watching your videos lately and I enjoy them. However, do you have any advice for newbies outside of the repetitive advice that is in abundance (and quite obvious): practice on repeat and basic shapes? More specifically, when I do gesture drawings (referring to your version or Marc Brunet's) I cannot seem to correct my mistakes. It is difficult to "discover" that learning curve to progress. It seems my current level of skill is stagnant. How do you improve on your own when you can't reciprocate with others (as in no one I know draws)? Most YT videos repeat the same as the previous. There is no greater details on how to improve that haven't been iterated over and over again. Any advice? If not np.
Good question. I wish I had some great key to unlock stagnation. For sure practicing gesture drawings isn't the only way to improve figure drawing. It is only one part of the puzzle. I get the most requests and views on those videos by a long shot so those are the ones I focus on making. By the way I love Marc Burnet's videos as well and learn a ton from him. So I would definitely recommend looking at multiple different teachers and picking up different things from each of them and hopefully you find something that unlocks something for you. I would mix in long poses as well and different kinds of drawings. I'm not sure what kind of art your into but for me it is comics and concept art. A buddy of mine who is much better than I am advised to practice what you feel worst at. Whatever makes you uncomfortable, maybe its faces, hands or feet. Focus time on those things I wish I could give you something fast but from what I have found and from what I have heard other artists say is that practice is the key. Just constantly and consistently logging in those hours.
@@jorvicsalazar7905 First and foremost, I seriously appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to respond. Thank you. Everything you wrote makes complete sense and relates to me. I was so hyper-focused on anatomy and proportioning I became lost in that mindset. I believe continuing to watch your content suits me well as comics and concept art are my areas of interest. Not only do I enjoy watching your art unfold, but I also really enjoy the vibes in your videos. Keep it up man. I cannot wait to see what else you publish on your channel. Thanks again!
Hey Jorvic, is it a good idea to add clothes to my gestures as a way to not only practice gestures, but clothes as well? Like a two for one kinda thing, ya know? Also, I loved the one point perspective vids you've got. Would be awesome to see some two and three point in the future man.

For sure! Gestures with clothes is great! I know it's been burning in the back of my mind for a while to do 2 point. One day I think I will.
