It's just that after 3 voice lessons & having decided that registers don't exist, (thereby refuting the knowledge of Tosi, Lamperti, & Garcia) he obviously knows bel canto inside out. And is therefore not only in a position to express an opinion, - but also to make videos to tell the rest of us how it's all done.
No real tone? Are you crazy? Of course there is real tone there. Sure, he croons here and there in the piece, but most of it is top notch operatic quailty.

Its good for pop, the reason its not opera is because there is no real tone there.
