There have screeching voices when they are pitching a fit but I would not take for my Roamie....he is cuddly and such soft hair...he is my sweet little honey boy and he is only four months...they are so smart!!!
Jeanne Warrefeltz hello! I know you wrote this comment a year ago, but I read that you have a Yorkie and a Cotton and I'm in a great dilemma which one is better for me. I'm single, living in a very small apartment with a neighbours who doesn't care for dogs. From all I explore so far, Cottons are more handfull for proper care and genetic deseases then Yorkies, but smarter. Yorkies on the other hand are terrible in learning. What's your experience so far?
ekscentar1 cotons are extremely funny and endearing...although I will tell you, they are very very clingy.....if you go to another room they literally screech and scream....I don’t recommend cotons unless you are home all the time....if I were in your situation, I would get a standard size yorkie-mix....lots healthier! Yorkies are not dogs, they are babies! Lol....they are intelligent and easy to train on puppy pads...it’s good to train your dogs on puppy pads anyway...in case it rains...I have had yorkies for years and I have only had one that didn’t train well and it was because he was tiny and we could not let him outside for three months! That was his training months too!....he is doing better now though it took a long time....all my other yorkies trained very well...and if a yorkie is mixed say like with a Maltese, or a poodle or a shihtszu...I always screw up that word...lol....anyway, you dog will be healthy, and easy to train...I imagine anything you choose will be wonderful though....you just have to be consistent for a few months and it’s not that hard...key word...consistent!!! My coton is one of the loves of my life....he talks to me with his eyes...I cannot express how smart they are....I talk to mine like he is a person...I am in bed a lot because of my heart....he comes in and props himself on the pillow and gives me certain looks...he has trained me very well!! Lol...I keep him cut short because if they grow the long hair...you have to brush it everyday! Everyday! My husband takes him in once a week for his bath...we can do our yorkies in the sink...the coton is around 18 pounds and just doesn’t fit !! Lol...I hope I haven’t confused you....I do adore the coton but I had two yorkie brothers from the same litter and I cannot tell you how great that was...training two litter brothers together was so easy and they kept each other company...if you have anymore questions just ask...I am retired and have nothing but time....good luck sweetie....you just need to get the pup that walks over to you....i will be praying that God will send the right one to you! Also go to the city pound .....rescuing is another way of going..if you have questions, I have had rescues too....bye....

When you adore dogs as much as me (and you), it is really very hard to pick just one, but in a small place you just have to pick one. Also, I'm struggling with esthetic issue cause I'm a little bit artistic. I saw two Yorkie girls this weekend, one standard 4 years old, very untrustful and the other 2 years old minnie like, extremely trustful and cuddling with everyone, totally different. So it seems their character is pretty individual, I like the second one more, but you can never know. Everybody's repeating that smaller Yorkies are always sick, but this one was so healthy, just beautiful in every way. I'll have more questions later, not retired yet so have to hurry. Thank you again, I'm so happy that you are such nice person!
