    Just reinstalled Audacity for that simple and precious "swap audio channels" feature 😄 I simply couldn't quickly find how to do it on Audition, though it's probably feasible with that software too.
    Thank you Ian!

    Thank you for explaining the difference between limiting and normalising! :)
    Why would you not do either for now? In what sort of scenarios would you say it's good to use either one?

    • @ASMRTutorialsForYou
      @ASMRTutorialsForYou  3 роки тому +1

      Normalizing is great to do first if you wanna quickly bring your levels up (but if you do any tapping, it's not worth it because the tapping peaks will keep it from going up much at all). I add a limiter to all of my videos (I have a separate channel for content - Bearded Audio ASMR, for reference).

    • @ShanaTerraASMR
      @ShanaTerraASMR 3 роки тому

      @@ASMRTutorialsForYou okay thank you that makes sense! The audio file I've been trying to edit includes me clapping to sync the audio with the video! I guess that's why normalising didn't seem to do much.
      Would you use a limiter as the very last step of editing?

    • @ASMRTutorialsForYou
      @ASMRTutorialsForYou  3 роки тому +1

      @@ShanaTerraASMR Yep! The limiter should almost always go last in you signal chain.

    So if I’m doing different tapping ASMR triggers, should I do a combo of first limiting and then normalize so all taps sound about the same with a max volume?

    • @ASMRTutorialsForYou
      @ASMRTutorialsForYou  16 днів тому

      That's an interesting idea! Try it both ways, normalizing first then limiting first, and see which one you prefer the sound of.

    • @persianlatina

      @@ASMRTutorialsForYou I appreciate that 😊 right now I’ve been spending 4-6 hours per video trying to manually adjust volumes. It’s been driving me insane 😩 this could be a life saver! Why does UA-cam mute the sound of one's videos? Do I need to use limiter for this? I thought maybe it reads the track for being too loud (?) when using mic covers makes one having to lift the volume for sound to be heard. Therefore UA-cam might think of having to take protective measures.

    here's a strange question, I have two blue yeti mics, and i have been trying to hook them both up and use each for one audio channel, and that works but its like there is a lag between both mic? because if I speak in the middle of both I hear a double sound and when I speak in one mic the other also picks it up but not at the exact moment.. I used voicemeeter banana for that one.. I feel like there is something very obvious that I am missing..

    • @ArabianWhispers
      @ArabianWhispers 5 років тому

      Thank you SO much for replying so fast as I am actually trying to record at the moment.. like I thought it turned out to be something minor, the banana version wasn’t working for me just the original voicemeeter did the trick, and only when recording on audacity.. it still sounds like double as I record but playing it back is actually perfect 👌 🎉🎉 thank you 🙏

    I've started recording audio in Audacity, but it somehow seems like the video and audio don't quite match up when I bring them into FCP. I'll get everything lined up perfectly in one spot, but then they become off as the video goes on. It seems like the audio is somehow timed slightly differently from the video. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?

    • @ASMRTutorialsForYou
      @ASMRTutorialsForYou  Рік тому

      Yeah! It's like the sample rate. Check what the sample rate you're recording in Audacity is and make sure FCP is set to the same rate. Double check your audio on the camera is set to the same rate as well, for good measure. I'd guess one is set to 48kHz and another is set to 44.1kHz. Let me know if that doesn't fix it!

    • @ASMRTutorialsForYou
      @ASMRTutorialsForYou  2 місяці тому

      That depends on how loud the thing you're recording is. You shouldn't have to set the input volume on your PC, and just use the gain knob on the Yeti. Sorry I didn't see this sooner!
