My husband died and I barely left the house, made one new friend last year, a neighbor I’ve known but got to know better. He was a star athlete in high school, various health issues, and is now a paraplegic. He felt sorry for ME! I felt ashamed of myself, looking at his health challenges. He said my chair is my freedom. I get to ride to Publix, Einstein every am. I was invited to a fundraiser his friends from high school, 30 years, throw for him annually. I’m so grateful to have met him and his circle. I’ve grown and learned from him.
Sorry for your loss... Never think less of yourself for feeling sad or crying over the loss of your loved one... You are a good human being, thus, you were depressed... nothing wrong with that... The person whose gone, remember him...keep him alive in your mind...and please take care of yourself as well ❤️🩹
I slept on the floor for 8 years, growing up. I was so happy when I got cushions from an old couch I got an upgrade! And of course, I moved out of the house I got a donated used bed/mattress!! I was in heaven. It's so humbling to look back and reflect. This is such a great topic. Reflection. ❤
@@barbarawarren9443 I bought an extra firm. The guy thought I was nuts. But no sagging! And the sheets are always crisp and tight. I don’t get tossy turny and tangled. Love it.
Coming from Southern Africa, I’ve seen poverty that would literally break me to peace’s. Kids from the age of 2yrs to teens living in the streets , eating from dustbins. I used to get home from work and cook for at least 20 kids a night. Even though my flat had just a bed in it. Thank you’ve reminded me, too.
I grew up in a communist socialist country, often without food, electricity, heat, shoes or clothes, basic necessities during wartimes. On top of it, lived in the basement for a couple of months, having bombs falling over my head. Truly, My greatest happiness is freezer full of food and a warm house with running water. But living in the first world country, I still fall for the first world problems these days. Thanks for this reminder ❤
I said that exact thing to my kids. While we were in line for an attraction at Disney World, we had to wait a bit longer because something happened with the ride. My kids started complaining about not having great cell phone reception where we were. I said, "sounds like a first world problem to me." My kids started cracking up because they realized it as well. I have some awesome kids.
😊 repeat with me! I am grateful for good health! I am grateful for love! I am grateful for peace! I am grateful for joy! I am grateful for wealth! I am grateful for all my blessings!
I do UberEats deliveries and this past Sunday my car got stuck in the mud during one of my deliveries. I was about to have a panic attack and get super upset. But then I took a deep breath and told myself it could be worse - this was happening for a reason. I called a tow truck and while waiting thanked the universe for all my blessings. Within the hour I was back on the road heading back to my warm and comfy home. Gratitude allowed me to overcome the issue and not let it cause a negative impact or create a negative frequency. Instead I turned it into a positive frequency by recognizing it was a “First world problem”. I must say I attribute this mindset to one of your videos where you spoke about waking up everyday and before having coffee wrote down three things you’re grateful for. I started doing this only two days before this incident happened and all I can say is my life has changed! Thank you! 🙌🏼❤️
Exactly what I always say! Problems don't exist! It's only redirecting you or get you where you want to be! Once again things went 'funny" for me, but I left it at the end I got a new friend through all that happened! A hotel manager! She gave me her personal no and e-mail! I was floored! She invited me to come every year and choose the room I want! I had to end up in her hotel to meet her! I'm so grateful!!❤❤❤
Elmer when the lady responded with “that sounds like a first world problem”. I laughed out loud. I think this is the funniest thing I’ve seen on your channel. Love your content thank you I am seeing the shift.
Highlighting another’s lack or first world problem just so you can feel abundant or better than is still coming from lack. The person with one leg or the homeless person on the street if asked, would most likely prefer to be viewed as abundant and not looked at as an example of what lack looks like. It’s presumptive to state that those who don’t have the things you want are lacking. I think there’s better examples that can benefit others besides comparison and affirmations of lack for others. Seeing others in lack IS affirming lack for the self. An example for the next time that you are confronted with a first world problem remember that ‘Everyone is on their own journey and this person is showing incredible strength and determination.’ Affirm that ‘I admire their resilience and strength’. ✨💖✨
"I wasn't present in the moment" 7:47 This sentence stands out to me. Problems don't exist when you are in the present. Thank you for this. Sometimes I get caught up in the past and future that I forget how good I have it in the present. This is what Eckhart Tolle refers to as the psychological time in his book the Power of Now. The reason why you were concerned about the gym card was that your attention was in the furure, where you may forget to switch your card when picking another car to drive. This problem only exists in the future. You have your card now. It makes sense to me now.
Couple extra things is I dig how you talk about your past and being in prison, most people would hide that. Truthfulness transparency, vulnerability while exhibiting strength. You own it completely and it’s felt. By doing that, you give me permission to look at my past and own and it and be ok w/that as well. Wild stuff-Thx Elmer🙋🏻♂️
