I managed to put a sabot right down the barrel of one of these things and only succeed in breaking the camo, the Bias is real.

@@wapper-man5448 yes Bandkanon 1 was design in the 50-60 and put in service in 1967 and yes sweden's plan was to get a nuk but in 1968 Sweden signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Swedish nuclear weapons program was no more so you see only rummers and an officer may had said that he put his hand on one but he's in the shed now.. I men retired🤫😜

I had a very interesting duel. I took a bkan with radio projectiles and started exchanging fire with an early helicopter. He fired and fired his rockets at me, and I unintentionally blew them up. After he spent all 4 rockets, I finally finished him off and he started whining in the chat that I was a cheater with an aimbot

@@LeMeowAu If I have died, the best intel I have is on the area where I died. This naturally includes the killer. It's common sense that you're likely the biggest target at that point.
It's also cathartic to put a few kilos of boom boom on the roof of the guy who ended your streak...
Because dive bombing is much easier and the game is full of salty teenagers who can't cope with losing.
As someone who is currently slogging their way through Sweden and is one tank away from researching the Bkan, it makes me very happy to see that the Bkan is very very good.
It is not very very good.
It is a janky, situational, piece of... Work. Requires very particular playstyle. When things go right, it is awesome, but it is also very often very frustrating.
The real gold is once you get the ikv91, very unique yet very fun tank.
@@Wolham With almost every tank you need to learn the play style. For example, PT-76B was piece of crap at first. But when I learned the play style, it became really good for me and it can penetrate almost anything with the HEAT-FS
As a man who mains Sweden I can say that the Bkan is very situational and treat it the way you would play our doom trumpet
@@kennysar the difference is that when you spot ANYTHING 15 degrees to either side of you gun, you need to rotate the whole tank, unless they're reloading or blind, they will shoot you first
And what's important to know is the ammo storage back there can be penetrated easily with 50 Cal. and if this thing explodes you don't wanna stay near it because of the 155mm HE shells which can also just friendly fire you and you're then gone

The Bandkannon is by far the best tank destroyer I have ever seen/used. The percussive force in those shells in unbeatable, and it’s frontal armor is surprisingly resistant for something that looks much flimsier.

As a Sweden main, I can confirm that at least early on, the bias is towards anyone that isn't Sweden

Well.. this is not even the most brutal one. That would be the Bofors 120mm autocanon... yes, auto.. fires 80 shells in 60 seconds.
There is a dual barrel.vesrsion that goes 160 shells in 60 seconds.
Man that gun sounds just gets in the heart 🥰 it goes "BOMMSH" and this tank can provide that sound every 5s

Haven't gotten to this vehicle yet. Been on 5.3 for a while. Would say sweden has some solid vehicles up to 2.7 but from there to 5.3 everything is underpowered. One of the biggest problems generally is that nothing can take a shot so no vehicle has any kind of margin of error and added to that are high repair costs and low reward ratios which makes for a painful slog before one gets to rank 4.

@@jopekpl3986 It is called a Variable Timed fuse shell but calling it such was to disguise the fact that it is actually a radar proximity fuse. Timed fuses were well known prior to the advent of this shell type but the ability to utilize an actual proximity fuse was thought not to be possible, hence disguising the name by calling it Variable Timed. Wiki, though certainly not the most reliable source for many things, does have a decent article on this subject.

I loved playing Sweden up until I realized I wasn't making any money, and on bad matches I lost a considerable amount of money
Then I embraced the trauma of war thunder economy and just went for USSR tree because their tanks are like 10 times cheaper, and the fact that they aren't very good doesn't matter when you got that cash
Meanwhile me spraying all these lightly armoured things with my Marder and Wiesel

The Swedish vehicles piss me off so much when I have to fight them, that's why I chose to grind their ground to tier 3 as one of the 8 factions needed for that one battle pass challenge. Also that's when I found out that their reserve tanks have access to SABOT rounds with over 100mm of penetration...

Swedish tanks are good for their variety of characteristics and almost always excellent gun depression angles. Almost all tanks have at least -10 degrees. And the self-propelled guns sometimes have -20 degrees!
