3rd times the charm and I did tweak a bit this is a great recipe. I shredded the butter and popped in freezer while preparing ingredients I also shredded a half cup aged cheddar and frozen it a bit too . Whipped the egg whites with the egg powder and then added the yolks I left the bone broth (and I added 1/2tsp baking powder to the bone broth powder) butter and cheese to fold in at the end of the mixing and put in mesh bun pans so darn good! It’s so funny that you’ve settled on this recipe-it is almost exactly the recipe I have come to use! 1/2 scoop Keto Chow beef base and adding back in some yolks has revolutionized the recipe for me into something SO like real bread, I am thrilled, and will be sticking with it. Don’t miss the allulose. I admit that I love the bready texture achieved by adding a bit of tapioca or arrowroot, but I can do without the carbs. 1/2 gram of carbs per slice is my sweet spot! Thank you for simplifying and sharing!
can you please describe the taste? Eggy? Chalky? Chewy in a bad way? Do you taste the beefy flavor? Just frustrated with keto/carnivore bread recipies that I can't choke down.... I just want a nice piece of toast with my eggs & bacon in the morning....thats all I ask LOL

This will be my mainstay from now on ! I am so excited about it. I am going to suggest one thing to maybe keep it a little taller and without the "muffin top": perhaps put a ring of parchment paper around the inside two or three inches from the top and with a six-inch collar above the top of the pan. Great job and thank you so much for this recipe; a sandwich is always nice to have once to break the monotony of BBBE.
Not tried to make this bread yet, but I tip that my mother gave me when making baked goods for air pockets, was to lift the pan and gently drop it to the counter over and over again and watch the air bubbles come to the top and pop. I would say 15 to 20 times, you know you are good when you stop seeing air bubbles rise to the top . Maybe this will work for the bread, and shouldn't take any more time then you spend trying to tap it down with the spatula.
Finally, easy and fewer ingredients. I actually made it with dried egg white powder and whole egg powder by working out how much fresh egg equivalent I needed and going from there. Made buns which ended up the most attractive I’ve ever made as well as soft and easy to eat. Sprinkled a little Redmond’s garlic salt (just a touch) and a bit of butter powder over the top. These will be yummy sandwiches or pan toast. Today I split one, into the air fryer with a slice of cheese on each half and cooked until top was golden and bubbly. And it didn’t require a gallon of water to swallow!

UGH. I have tried several recipies now for keto/ carnivore. etc. Many claim it tastes just like bread. Or, its really good. etc. I have spent $$$ on ingr. & time making them, only to throw them out, not being able to choke them down. Chalky. Dry. Mealy. Eggy. Certainly wouldn't call them tasty. This looks promising! AGH. I guess theres no getting around experimenting with all of these. I will give this one a try, waiting for my egg white powder order to come in.
I get it, but while I do think this is one of the better ones out there with minimal ingredients, none of them will ever be like actual bread. But many people either do find one they actually like which takes a lot of experimenting or they let it go and embrace the meat!
New watcher here. Made this morning for the first time & just used it to replace the bread on a fast food hamburger & it was so good. Really let the flavor of the burger shine through. I will definitely be making this again & again.
Just made this bread tonight. Have to admit it is hands down the best tasting of all the recipes I have tried. (My family laughs every time Amazon comes with a new ingredient). This is the most like real bread. Only trouble is, it didn't rise much at all. I always had problems with the original egg white bread. I may try double the recipe. It is not the most attractive loaf I have made but who cares? Only me who eats it. A little salty with the Keto Chow chicken plus salt plus salted butter on top.
So good. Thanks for the recipe! I did not use the optional Cream of Tartar, but did add a heaping 1/4 teaspoon of beef gelatin powder. No caving in! So happy with the bread. You are a genius.
That's perfect, I'm leaving out cream of tartar on my next loaf and that will make this 100% carnivore! My beef gelatin just arrived so I'll try that in there as well!
Amen to back to the basics!!! I found your UA-cam channel when looking into beef flour. Then was interested in the use of egg whites as a substitute for the beef flour. I followed the link to the entertaining channel in which any number of unusual products are used to in some way replace natural ingredients. I thought the back to basics meant staying away from all of the Processed Products that have led to this epidemic of health and obesity in America. If every plant grown weren’t coated with pesticides and God’s perfect design wasn’t modified beyond anything recognizable by our bodies, maybe we’d be able to eat like farmers did 180 years ago. Mankind is definitely in self-destruct mode. Thanks for your efforts and may you be blessed!
OH my gosh I just made this bread and had a sandwich for supper! I have not had bread or sandwiches since last summer! It’s awesome! I also can’t find beef gelatin but Knox Pork gelatin is in great supply and I have been using that for my gelatin in any carnivore recipes I’ve tried…. Without issue. Thanks so much for sharing this. @@KetogenicWoman I was going to say that when you make your shredded pork or shredded chicken instead of using 2 forks you can use a hand mixer and it goes so fast and shreds it so nice. I made this bread today and some hotdog buns. I followed your recipe except I only used collagen with the egg white powder along with the egg whites and yolks. Brushing the top with butter was genius. My daughter and I are very happy with this bread. I made your BBBE bread the other day and it was delicious! Thanks for another great recipe. It's my new "go to" recipe. I didn't have the bone broth or Keto Chow but used 5-6g of LonoLife beef bone broth (they make a chicken one too!) and the bread was delicious!
This was my first time making any kind of egg bread, and I find it impressive that you came up with this! (I was always too skeptical of the original plain egg white breads). My bone broth powder must have lots of sodium in it, because the only issue with mine is it came out too salty 😂 but otherwise it worked out great, and i actually used Ancient Nutrition Pure bone broth powder which has both beef and chicken broth so i knew i was taking a risk of sorts. I wonder if chicken is often higher in sodium lol? If the saltiness ends up being too much, i figured i can at least use the bread for making bread crumbs/panko!! :) and then make a new batch and not add salt this time! If anyone uses the same broth powder that i used, i recommend not adding any salt to the recipe!! Lol ❤

I'm very excited to give this a try today. I hope you realize how gifted you are. I'm going to give BBBE a go starting Monday. My problem is, I now have an addiction to your egg fast lemon bars/muffins. The last batch I omitted the sweetener and added cinnamon, still love them. They are a very nice treat at the end of the day. I will likely tweak my BBBE to include LB's lol Do you count macros on BBBE ? I find my calories are very low but I'm full. awww, sorry about the lemon bars, they are addictive, lol! Someone I know used glycine to sweeten them (glycine is an amino acid and not a sweetener). I'll have to try that! I don't count macros on BBBE or carnivore and I also get full on way less food! Thanks so much for your support!
I agree all the different versions out there are crazy. When I first made the original recipe put there I was very disappointed. Looking forward to trying your recipe and I like the combo of real ingredients like eggs and egg yolks

Thanks for a BBBE version! I've become carni-curious lately but not ready to commit. I've been reducing the allulose and adding a few yolks back in for a while now (even yolk/cream cheese mixture for a cloud/egg white bread hybrid) once folks started experimenting with added fats and a somewhat controlled collapsing meringue. I'll need to get some powdered beef bone broth to try that flavor or else reduce some homemade one-ingredient bone broth to a concentrated paste to add to the yolks. One note: if you are using a little hand mixer and you add all the ingredients together, you will get a sticky batter that will climb the beaters and not fluff so keep to the old two-step process with tiny equipment like mine. Also to answer an earlier post, there are similar older egg bread recipes from years ago that use raw egg whites with powdered collagen as the protein powder or whey protein isolate - no egg white protein in sight - but not as a replacement for the flavor aspect of the bone broth! As an aside, doesn't the keto chow beef base have a lot of ingredients in it?
Wow thanks for all these tips! The bone broth version is for the carnivores/BBBE people. The Keto Chow version is for those Keto Chow fans out there! I like to give options wherever possible as I see that 'Keto' is such a huge umbrella that covers many different ways for people to get healthier!
I made a similar bread yesterday! I used keto chow, because I had an open pack, I usually just use a half of a pack. It was really soft. I had a grilled piece for breakfast with my eggs (fried a piece in a TB of butter).

Although the complex recipes look amazing and probably taste amazing too, I'm not willing to use arrowroot or alulose. I'm newly diagnosed diabetic so it's just not for me. I was going crazy with all the recipes out there and just stopped making any breads for about a month. Was just going to start looking for back to basic breads, when I saw this. Will try tomorrow, it looks wonderful. In fact, I have turned myself around and doing basics (based on Dr. Westman's page 4). No treats except sf jello. It is so tempting to me and had put me in a stall. When I awaken the sugar (even if it says sugar free), I just want more and more. Back to basics is working for me. Finally starting to lose that last 20-25 lbs. Thanks for the recipe.
Actually, if you add about 1T sf jello (and perhaps some flavoring) instead of the egg yolks it makes a tasty Angel food type cake. I add a bit of coconut flour also, but you could leave that out.

This is definitely softer and it doesn't give you that chokey feeling. Only problem is my beef broth powder deflates my whites, even though it has no fat. I'll have to find the Now brand.
Oh interesting! The Now brand has only 1 ingredient, some people are using bone broth with several ingredients and I wonder if there is something else that might be deflating the egg whites.
@@KetogenicWoman Mine says beef bone broth protein is the only ingredient, and there is zero fat. It is the Bulk Supplements brand. I will look for the Now brand beef bone broth powder.

I just made my first loaf of this bread. I used unflavored Ancient Nutrition Multi Collagen Powder (made from beef, chicken, egg and fish.) I had just a little bit left and I will be buying the bone broth variety next. I was very lucky today and found a gigantic silicone loaf pan at Aldi for five bucks. When I whipped the egg whites, egg white powder, salt and collagen powder using a hand mixer I couldn't get it to stiff peaks (got close.) So maybe it's the collagen powder? I'm not sure, so next time I'll add it at the end or I might also try some cream of tartar. When the bread was done it came right up to the edge of the pan, but the pan is 7in deep so it was still a pretty good size loaf. I was afraid it was going to sink but it stayed light and fluffy. I turned it out of the pan and it just came out like a dream. It did shrink a little bit but the slices are now about 6 in by 5 in and I just cannot believe how delicious and perfect and beautiful the bread is. It is SO good! Thank you so much Anita! You're such a warm and sweet person and I'm so glad I found your blog. You've helped so many people and I think you're a sweetheart. I just have one question though, how does this bread fit into the egg fast? I feel like it's probably not appropriate for the proper egg fast, but maybe it can work with the instructions that you've given on how to follow up the egg fast. I do a 12 day cycle: 3 days of egg fast then 2 days of adding a new protein, then 4 days of adding two cups of vegetables, and then 3 days of regular keto - all days starting with egg fast meal(s). Then I start the egg fast again. Would this bread be considered a "new protein"? or should I wait until I'm eating regular keto meals again? I hope that made sense. Thanks for your help! I'm so happy the bread turned out for you! I have heard from some people that they include this bread on the egg fast and try to estimate the number of eggs and egg whites. It can be simply a matter of adding yolks to an omelet or egg shake to make up the extra whites in the bread. Makes us sharpen our math skills!
Does anyone know the purpose of the beef broth base in the recipe? Is it just for flavor or do you need it for the bread to rise properly? I can't find any that doesn't have msg and keto chow is pretty expensive. So I'm wondering if I can leave it out or just substitute with gelatin.
It doesn't do anything like make the bread rise, it is more for softer texture and some flavor. The next best thing to substitute is collagen if you have it and then next would be gelatin.
The bread looks wonderful! And I like the idea of no allulose! I think it will be go to bread too. Keeping it basic for my carnivore. Gotta get me some Now beef bone broth powder next.

Hi Anita, ur description recipe shows 23 g egg white powder, not 42 g. You might want to adjust that. This protein bread will be a great addition to the BBBE for sure....love fried egg sammies.

I have not tried with chicken keto chow yet but I will! I'll put a note on the recipe to salt only to taste if using the Keto Chow.

OH my gosh I just made this bread and had a sandwich for supper! I have not had bread or sandwiches since last summer! It’s awesome! I also can’t find beef gelatin but Knox Pork gelatin is in great supply and I have been using that for my gelatin in any carnivore recipes I’ve tried…. Without issue. Thanks so much for sharing this. Tomorrow, I will have toast with my eggs and bacon! I can’t wait! Eggs with my eggs! 😂

@@KetogenicWoman I was going to say that when you make your shredded pork or shredded chicken instead of using 2 forks you can use a hand mixer and it goes so fast and shreds it so nice. I made this bread today and some hotdog buns. I followed your recipe except I only used collagen with the egg white powder along with the egg whites and yolks. Brushing the top with butter was genius. My daughter and I are very happy with this bread. Thank you for all your tweaks and sharing your wonderful receipe. 😊
P S We did use Cream of Tartar as North Carolina is humid.

I made your BBBE bread the other day and it was delicious! Thanks for another great recipe. It's my new "go to" recipe. I didn't have the bone broth or Keto Chow but used 5-6g of LonoLife beef bone broth (they make a chicken one too!) and the bread was delicious!

This was my first time making any kind of egg bread, and I find it impressive that you came up with this! (I was always too skeptical of the original plain egg white breads). My bone broth powder must have lots of sodium in it, because the only issue with mine is it came out too salty 😂 but otherwise it worked out great, and i actually used Ancient Nutrition Pure bone broth powder which has both beef and chicken broth so i knew i was taking a risk of sorts. I wonder if chicken is often higher in sodium lol? If the saltiness ends up being too much, i figured i can at least use the bread for making bread crumbs/panko!! :) and then make a new batch and not add salt this time! If anyone uses the same broth powder that i used, i recommend not adding any salt to the recipe!! Lol ❤

I'm going to give BBBE a go starting Monday. My problem is, I now have an addiction to your egg fast lemon bars/muffins. The last batch I omitted the sweetener and added cinnamon, still love them.
They are a very nice treat at the end of the day. I will likely tweak my BBBE to include LB's lol
Do you count macros on BBBE ?
I find my calories are very low but I'm full.

awww, sorry about the lemon bars, they are addictive, lol! Someone I know used glycine to sweeten them (glycine is an amino acid and not a sweetener). I'll have to try that! I don't count macros on BBBE or carnivore and I also get full on way less food! Thanks so much for your support!
I agree all the different versions out there are crazy. When I first made the original recipe put there I was very disappointed. Looking forward to trying your recipe and I like the combo of real ingredients like eggs and egg yolks

I made that bread today . It wasn’t very tall but. It was the best tasting of all that I have tried and I really like the texture. Next time I may leave out the butter to retain the height. Thank you.

Thanks for a BBBE version! I've become carni-curious lately but not ready to commit. I've been reducing the allulose and adding a few yolks back in for a while now (even yolk/cream cheese mixture for a cloud/egg white bread hybrid) once folks started experimenting with added fats and a somewhat controlled collapsing meringue. I'll need to get some powdered beef bone broth to try that flavor or else reduce some homemade one-ingredient bone broth to a concentrated paste to add to the yolks. One note: if you are using a little hand mixer and you add all the ingredients together, you will get a sticky batter that will climb the beaters and not fluff so keep to the old two-step process with tiny equipment like mine. Also to answer an earlier post, there are similar older egg bread recipes from years ago that use raw egg whites with powdered collagen as the protein powder or whey protein isolate - no egg white protein in sight - but not as a replacement for the flavor aspect of the bone broth! As an aside, doesn't the keto chow beef base have a lot of ingredients in it?
Wow thanks for all these tips! The bone broth version is for the carnivores/BBBE people. The Keto Chow version is for those Keto Chow fans out there! I like to give options wherever possible as I see that 'Keto' is such a huge umbrella that covers many different ways for people to get healthier!

I made a similar bread yesterday! I used keto chow, because I had an open pack, I usually just use a half of a pack. It was really soft. I had a grilled piece for breakfast with my eggs (fried a piece in a TB of butter).

Although the complex recipes look amazing and probably taste amazing too, I'm not willing to use arrowroot or alulose. I'm newly diagnosed diabetic so it's just not for me. I was going crazy with all the recipes out there and just stopped making any breads for about a month. Was just going to start looking for back to basic breads, when I saw this. Will try tomorrow, it looks wonderful.
In fact, I have turned myself around and doing basics (based on Dr. Westman's page 4). No treats except sf jello. It is so tempting to me and had put me in a stall. When I awaken the sugar (even if it says sugar free), I just want more and more. Back to basics is working for me. Finally starting to lose that last 20-25 lbs.

Actually, if you add about 1T sf jello (and perhaps some flavoring) instead of the egg yolks it makes a tasty Angel food type cake. I add a bit of coconut flour also, but you could leave that out.

This is definitely softer and it doesn't give you that chokey feeling. Only problem is my beef broth powder deflates my whites, even though it has no fat. I'll have to find the Now brand.
Oh interesting! The Now brand has only 1 ingredient, some people are using bone broth with several ingredients and I wonder if there is something else that might be deflating the egg whites.
@@KetogenicWoman Mine says beef bone broth protein is the only ingredient, and there is zero fat. It is the Bulk Supplements brand. I will look for the Now brand beef bone broth powder.

I just made my first loaf of this bread. I used unflavored Ancient Nutrition Multi Collagen Powder (made from beef, chicken, egg and fish.) I had just a little bit left and I will be buying the bone broth variety next.
I was very lucky today and found a gigantic silicone loaf pan at Aldi for five bucks.
When I whipped the egg whites, egg white powder, salt and collagen powder using a hand mixer I couldn't get it to stiff peaks (got close.) So maybe it's the collagen powder? I'm not sure, so next time I'll add it at the end or I might also try some cream of tartar.
When the bread was done it came right up to the edge of the pan, but the pan is 7in deep so it was still a pretty good size loaf. I was afraid it was going to sink but it stayed light and fluffy. I turned it out of the pan and it just came out like a dream. It did shrink a little bit but the slices are now about 6 in by 5 in and I just cannot believe how delicious and perfect and beautiful the bread is. It is SO good!

I just have one question though, how does this bread fit into the egg fast? I feel like it's probably not appropriate for the proper egg fast, but maybe it can work with the instructions that you've given on how to follow up the egg fast.
I do a 12 day cycle: 3 days of egg fast then 2 days of adding a new protein, then 4 days of adding two cups of vegetables, and then 3 days of regular keto - all days starting with egg fast meal(s). Then I start the egg fast again.
Would this bread be considered a "new protein"? or should I wait until I'm eating regular keto meals again? I hope that made sense.

I'm so happy the bread turned out for you! I have heard from some people that they include this bread on the egg fast and try to estimate the number of eggs and egg whites. It can be simply a matter of adding yolks to an omelet or egg shake to make up the extra whites in the bread. Makes us sharpen our math skills!

I have started to use a higher sided, pro baker type pan and
it stops that weird spread at the top and you get a deeper
loaf with higher flat sides.
Actually good idea, I have a larger wider loaf pan and I'll make my next one in there!

Does anyone know the purpose of the beef broth base in the recipe? Is it just for flavor or do you need it for the bread to rise properly? I can't find any that doesn't have msg and keto chow is pretty expensive. So I'm wondering if I can leave it out or just substitute with gelatin.
It doesn't do anything like make the bread rise, it is more for softer texture and some flavor. The next best thing to substitute is collagen if you have it and then next would be gelatin.
