Ah yes! The "roval" days, in the very beginning of the ALMS journey. I loved these races. Thank you all at ALMS so much for the great ride over the past decade. Looking forward to the future, and thanks for uploading these videos for us long-time fans.
This was the first ALMS race I went to! I have always wanted them to provide this race! Thanks ALMS. The first race in Las Vegas and Petit LeMans will be my final ALMS race. A long and great run it has been. From a TRUE fan.
This track was featured in the classic game, Sports Car GT, under the moniker of "Desert Speedway" and it was awesome! The game version had some gnarly tire walls in the first chicane though :D
Great cars, drivers, great race. Thank you Don for helping to continue a great sports car history in America. Thank you for making it possible for me to see these wonderful cars and drivers in person. Would of loved to have seen the Panoz GT-1 and Roadster S race race together!
I remember playing Sports Car GT for the PC. While this track was in the game. Though it wasn't called Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was called Desert Speedway. I have no idea why other than the track is in the desert. But why didn't they name it Las Vegas Motor Speedway?
I don't have a definitive answer, but if I had to guess...they might have been unable to get the official license to use the real name, and so put it in there as a "fictional" track...even though it's clearly LVMS, they could have gotten away with it. Like in a lot of games, that use basically real-life car designs and give them fake names to avoid the licensing issue :D
Take a shot for every time they get Martin Haven's name wrong. Another fun race. You never know how these races will end up. Looking forward to seeing Audi's new car next season...
Hans Stuck was always such a character, we're missing that now-a-days.....Good luck USCR, and thanks ALMS for keeping REAL Sportscars alive for 10+ years. for those of you staying on in the merger, if brian france tries to make all the chassis the same in prototype, please string and quarter him....(Coming from former NASCAR fan)

"Siegfried showed us a trick how to change drivers in five seconds. Oh Strietzel, never change!"
