Lee Roy has a real, real hard time finding his words...he stumbles so much that it makes the listener very uncomfortable, I can only imagine what the interviewer must feel like...and to be totally honest, I don’t get what all the “Hype” on him is really all about? To me...he’s just a a basic guitar player, nothin really stands out about him, like say a Dickey Betts, He’s got the look, he dresses kool, and has some famous friends but “that’s it” I’ve seen better talented guitar players in my local bars...
Of course you will find some great bar band players who lacked the discipline to make it. Lee Roy became a bonafide C&W hitmaker for a few years. He is a very good slide player but I am sure he would tell you he ain't no Derek Trucks
Leroy makes playing slide look so easy!
Would be fun to try and learn.
Even at my age!!
Lee Stensrud - You can do it. Start out using an open tuning like D or E and you'll quickly progress.
The most important thing is learning to control your vibrato. Just practice sliding into a note and shake it wide and slow.
I play side guitar 🎸
I play lead guitar
Listen to Sonny Landreth if you want to hear a slide player...
Great technician, probably the best, but absolutely zero feeling in his playing. People who like him are just easily impressed by flashy things.
Mumble,mumble,mumble,mumble..he’s soooooooooooo boring, boring, boring...

I love to listen to Lee Roy! He is very deep and thoroughly investigates his thoughts. He's a country boy!
