Since I've seen the Counting Crows in concert 4 times and met Adam and Imme after a show. I will die a Counting Crows fan and RAINKING will be playing at my funeral. My 4 daughters already know the deal. Great song guys.✌

August and Everything After came out quite some time before I was born, but I became a fan at the right time for the songs to mean what they do to me. Counting Crows are one of my favourite bands and I will often travel with the same August and Everything After CD in my car too! Rain King is good but for me, Anna Begins is probably one of my favourite Crows songs. And of course, Mr. Jones will forever be legendary. Sad thing is, in England, pretty much nobody knows them. I've heard Mr. Jones played very rarely so the only Crows song anyone knows here is Accidentally in Love because of Shrek 2... Honestly, '90s American music may have been before my time but it's better than most of what music we get on the radio in England nowadays! Counting Crows will always be one of my faves!

I love how it wears its heart on its sleeve - it could be about the smallest band you know, or the biggest; there’s that nostalgia & that warning about the hollowness of chaining yourself to what others think about you all rolled up in one. I’m a small time professional singer/songwriter & it feels very familiar to me, even if I’ve never worn elevator boots.

Okay, this was about 18 years ago, but at a Q&A, I remember someone asking about Maria and Adam said that she actually represents him. It's more complicated than that, but it's interesting to know.
Adam's voice still sounds the same all this time later! This song obviously would never fit in with August and Everything After's tone, but still carries the quality of songs from back then! It has been 7 years since the most recent album, Somewhere Under Wonderland, was released. This album will be the first one I be able to listen to on release, as I only became a fan in 2020 (I know, that's terrible and I should've been a fan sooner but in my defence, I wasn't alive when August and Everything After came out and England doesn't really know Counting Crows as much as they should) so I'm going to be very excited for the new album! Of course, I do know quite a few Crows songs from over the different albums, but getting to listen to an album on release knowing you'll be one of the first to hear it is quite a nice feeling. August and Everything After will always be one of my favourite albums of any band of all time, but I'm interested to see how this new one will do!
