  • Mary /ˈmɛəˌri/ is a feminine given name, the English form of the name Maria, which was in turn a Latin form of the Greek name Μαρία, María or Μαριάμ, Mariam, found in the Septuagint and New Testament. The latter reflects the original Hebrew pronunciation of the name מרים (Masoretic pronunciation Miryam), as attested by the Septuagint. The vowel "a" in a closed unaccented syllable later became "i", as seen in other names such as "Bil'am" (Balaam) and "Shimshon" (Samson).
The Zebra G Japanese pointed nib is a great tool for drawing, calligraphy and lettering. It is gentle enough for beginners to practice English Italic, Spencerian, or modern calligraphy.
    Usage tips:
New metal nibs for regular calligraphy are a little oily to the touch - they are coated with a special oil to prevent rusting; I recommend rubbing the new nibs with rubbing alcohol - this way you wash off the factory oil, the ink will not roll off the nib and will stick and drain better.
While writing, I also do not recommend touching the metal nib with your fingers - a small layer of grease will remain on it, which may cause ink to drain poorly from the nib.
After you have finished writing, rinse the nib thoroughly by first pulling it out of the holder. I recommend storing the nibs separately from the nib holder to prevent the nibs and nib core from rusting.
