What I love is the fact you pull out these older, but really great!, games. It’s fantastic to see these strong games being played. They still are fighting strong amongst all the new titles.
While I really like this game, I'd disagree that it NEEDS an expansion. It's a great value package with a lot of replayability out of the box. But I would certainly buy an expansion.

It is a different game at 2P but there are GREAT variants on BGG. This game if it gets reprinted needs moreconcerted 2 player rules and expansion content
Never played with 2-p BBG variant. Ive to check it out. i agree, with 2 players, the battle for quest is less dramatic. Almost never flunk a quest with 2 players
We ve tested the 2-p variant with 5 cards per level (keeping the two eleusis for the "2" + one randomly taken), and playing 7 epochs. Works reallly fine. I wish the hunt for the quest could be changed as well. With each quest available with two colors, there is not a lot of tension, IMO
Also wanted to say that I love hearing your thoughts on games that you learned when you were early into the hobby - both what you thought then and what you think now. And it's really helpful to hear which parts of games you may have struggled with as it helps me emphasize those parts when teaching the game.

Maybe this is just my OCD with wanting to sleeve everything but I definitely recommend it for this game. It gives the cards a more premium feel and makes shuffling them without damaging them a lot easier thus meaning you'll be more likely to play with the different combinations listed in the rulebook. Just a thought to get maximum value from the game as those different combinations of decks really changes the game up. If the players don't like an aspect of the game with one of the decks, no problem! Just try a different combination.
54:42: "The colors in the top right corner is not what you spend. That's what you see in like 7 Wonders, you spend what's there. No, here you just need to have it." I would say it's exactly how it works in 7 Wonders - you just need to have the resources in the top corner, you don't spend them.
@23:23 The fact that your "Player board" pieces are swapped and the Lyre drawing doesn't align keeps drawing my attention to it xD It's quite distracting

Yeah, this game probably benefits from sleeving so that you don't break down the cards quickly
