First heard of this song from The Executioner and Her Way of Life OP and it's majestic. Fell in love with it after finishing the anime. Mili just makes the best godly feel music.
I had remembered listening to this intro when the anime was airing but I had forgotten the name of it and in turn, this song. Recently I got into Library of Ruina and loved the music and as fate would have it, MILI IS THE ONE WHO MADE ALL OF THESE BEAUTIFUL SONGS. I am so happy to have finally rediscover Mili.
I remember several years back my favourite band was muse, I still love their music to this day. But somehow the raw emotions that Mili's music invokes is just overwhelming, I can't even describe how often their music gets me through my day. Stay awesome Mili and I wish y'all much success for the rest of the year.
I'm surprised that I find an artist I like and suddenly, they seem to have been present in the past but I never knew it. Happened with EVE before and now Mili.
My favorite part is 2:35 where it the flow would lead to the "sadder" end of the verse, where instead it is defied and the rhythm repeats from the beginning. It has a very "defy all odds" kind of feel.
After watching the first episode, I am very hopeful about this one. The animation is adequate, I hope this will carry the banner of supernatural-action-yuri genre. It has been a long while since there’s a hardcore yuri themed anime. The last outstanding one I can think of is 《Talentless Nana》，it’s helpless, afterall this is the era of popular typical light air type high school yuri anime. Shokei Shoujo really opened a light for me.
from all light yuri that I read and yuri manga itself this the best so far. Here's why you still get the plot, the action, tho the yuri you can say it involve a little bit so it's perfect to my taste. For Talentless nana for me it's not a yuri one, if you also follow the manga. for supernatural-action-yuri is still so little, i'm only found a couple of it and the ch still 5 but they hold an interesting stuff
The only other good action yuri anime I know is symphogear but even then the actual yuri part is just very heavy subtext until the last episode and the characters are only fully acknowledged as a couple in the gacha game.

God mili 100% knows how to adapt their lyrics to fit the series they make openings for Describing how colorless Menou is. As well as talking about the burying new friends and decomposing sailor shirts. God it matches the anime visuals too.
Personally i think "if the future needs a billion samples of flowers, im your reaper" is by far the best line. It does only work so well because of the delivery though it just encompasses menous worldview about herself so goddamn well. i find myself repeatdly skipping 5 seconds back to listen to that line again. All the while daydreaming about possible scenes.

most of us do. I did know MIli through Rightfully, but songs before that weren't really my cup of tea back in the days. it's String Theocracy that really got my interest for the band. all that I meant was some saying things as if this is the FIRST anime project Mili have ever done. it's actually the THIRD. the first 2 project was for Goblin Slayer and Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045
Up to date with the light novels English translation (volume 8 currently). For those who are still curious about the show this is from, the anime is The Executioner and Her Way of Life. An isekai, though the focus isn’t an isekai’d person but someone who is from that world, that being Menou, an executioner (assassin) who’s job is to kill isekai’d people. The reason for that is because a 1,000 years ago 4 isekai’d people had become what is known as a “Human Error” which is what happens to all isekai’d people at some point as their Pure Concept corrodes their memories til they become an empty husk and the Pure Concept takes over their bodies. We follow Menou trying to kill a girl named Akari who is basically immortal, so Menou tries to find a way to kill her. The story is a yuri (though I would say a bit light on that) but it is also a dark fantasy, so it does have some violence and gore though it isn’t as extreme as other cases I have seen. So, if you want to see a more unique isekai (if you are tired of op blank slate self insert harem power fantasy), I highly recommend this one. It isn’t just a gloomy story either since it does have a lot of comedy (that does get better as the volumes of the novels go on). The anime is quite faithful to the source material but I feel it doesn’t explain itself as clearly specially when it comes to the reason for them killing isekai’d people, some scenes being cut for time that will have relevance later on specially one about Ashuna and her sister. I also feel the anime doesn’t delve into Menou’s struggle as much as it should, since I noticed a lot of people think of her as just the “cold blooded assassin type” which to me it feels further from the truth to her character. I also appreciate that while Menou is capable, everyone else around her is as well, or just way stronger too. (Only times we get her to show off is against amateurs or people on the normal side of society) I recommend the novels more since not only do you get better explanations and the cut content, but it is very unlikely we will get another season of the anime, which has an incredibly open end (it’s the same as the one in volume 2). The anime only covers 2 volumes out of 9 (currently). If you do not like to read I guess you can still give the anime a try.

After reading through 3 volumes, I can say that this song perfectly encapsulates the story of Virgin Road. This anime is a hidden gem in this season, so I recommend you to watch it. Virgin Road is a grimdark fantasy reverse-isekai light novel series (yes, it is not an isekai slice-of-life). You follow Menou, a 'resident' of another world who has to 'deal' with Otherworlders who isekais into her world and starts destroying everything (paint the world a bit redder). This time, her mission is killing a girl named Akari with the power of Time and since it is strong enough to return from the death, Menou has to deceive Akari into traveling with her to find a way to end Akari's life. The tragedy is, if Menou can't help but killing Akari, Akari herself can't help but loving Menou either. The novel is splitted into 2 parts. The first part is a bit slice-of-life yuri adventure, when you will have some world building and some juicy scene. The 2nd part is packed with supernatural action scenes and it is very interesting to read.

This OP is a straight banger and hopefully many people will be able to find the series "The Executioner and Her Way of Life" through this song. The mystical and adventurous vibes suits well for this series. The characters on the illustration are Menou and Akari who met in the fantasy world where Menou, a priestess, an executioner is bound to kill Akari who's an otherworlder from Japan. [Light spoilers - for those who haven't watched this anime] Akari holds a dangerous power called Pure Concept of [Time] which could wipe out a single town with ease and is immortal. To prevent that from happening, Menou the executioner sets out a journey with Akari in order to find a way to kill her.
The song itself literally retells the story with it's themes of time loop, salt, decomposing bodies, and death basically. The song is literally written with the anime/manga in mind. That's the one thing I've always wondered about, do song writers write songs and producers just 'finds' and contracts them for their anime/shows, or are they contracted to 'create' one for said anime/shows?
I never found the part where her pure concept could destroy a town, her pure concept in general seems more utility and we haven’t seen her use her more damaging conjurings on anything “big”.
@@cowts535 only watched till ep3 but iirc the grandmother of the executioners said SPOILER ALERT I guess? that if Akari uses her Pure Concept over and over it can become unstable and make past events like what happened to Menou's village happen again as well as other events that have happened, so yeah technically she /can/ destroy a village with her Pure Concept. correct me if I got some parts wrong but no spoilers after ep3 pls. I put the anime on hold for now since I want to watch it in one sitting.

After watching the anime, the op struck me as unique but I never thought to search the singer. After some time, I started to play Arcaea and guess which song captured my interest. World Execute(me) by none other than Mili. I keep thinking that the general feels of the op and the song are familiar and that World Execute(me) would also fit The Executioner and Her Way of Life as an amv. Today, I was finally searching for World Execute(me) on UA-cam for the first time outside of Arcaea and found this. The two girls on the cover were calling my name and the title bewildered me. I've been listening to this for a year now and 1:26 - 1:39 & 3:07 to the end are still my favorite parts. Just how all the instruments just collide together so well, guitar, violin and piano just sound so harmonizing, then the end someone said for the guitar just hits hard for a finisher.

原義は「収穫する、刈り取る」だから合ってるよ。ただ、英語では「刈り取る」のイメージから死神も意味するようになった。英語でしかできないダブルミーニングやね。あえて日本語で表すなら「命を摘み取る」になると思うけど、でもやっぱり英語の方が死神を連想しやすいね。

My favorite part is 2:35 where it the flow would lead to the "sadder" end of the verse, where instead it is defied and the rhythm repeats from the beginning. It has a very "defy all odds" kind of feel.

After watching the first episode, I am very hopeful about this one. The animation is adequate, I hope this will carry the banner of supernatural-action-yuri genre. It has been a long while since there’s a hardcore yuri themed anime. The last outstanding one I can think of is 《Talentless Nana》，it’s helpless, afterall this is the era of popular typical light air type high school yuri anime. Shokei Shoujo really opened a light for me.
from all light yuri that I read and yuri manga itself this the best so far. Here's why you still get the plot, the action, tho the yuri you can say it involve a little bit so it's perfect to my taste. For Talentless nana for me it's not a yuri one, if you also follow the manga. for supernatural-action-yuri is still so little, i'm only found a couple of it and the ch still 5 but they hold an interesting stuff

The only other good action yuri anime I know is symphogear but even then the actual yuri part is just very heavy subtext until the last episode and the characters are only fully acknowledged as a couple in the gacha game.

Describing how colorless Menou is. As well as talking about the burying new friends and decomposing sailor shirts. God it matches the anime visuals too.
Personally i think "if the future needs a billion samples of flowers, im your reaper" is by far the best line. It does only work so well because of the delivery though
it just encompasses menous worldview about herself so goddamn well. i find myself repeatdly skipping 5 seconds back to listen to that line again. All the while daydreaming about possible scenes.
Even when they make boss music they are fantastic, through patches of violet is one of my favorite one for sure

Up to date with the light novels English translation (volume 8 currently).
For those who are still curious about the show this is from, the anime is The Executioner and Her Way of Life. An isekai, though the focus isn’t an isekai’d person but someone who is from that world, that being Menou, an executioner (assassin) who’s job is to kill isekai’d people. The reason for that is because a 1,000 years ago 4 isekai’d people had become what is known as a “Human Error” which is what happens to all isekai’d people at some point as their Pure Concept corrodes their memories til they become an empty husk and the Pure Concept takes over their bodies. We follow Menou trying to kill a girl named Akari who is basically immortal, so Menou tries to find a way to kill her.
The story is a yuri (though I would say a bit light on that) but it is also a dark fantasy, so it does have some violence and gore though it isn’t as extreme as other cases I have seen. So, if you want to see a more unique isekai (if you are tired of op blank slate self insert harem power fantasy), I highly recommend this one. It isn’t just a gloomy story either since it does have a lot of comedy (that does get better as the volumes of the novels go on).
The anime is quite faithful to the source material but I feel it doesn’t explain itself as clearly specially when it comes to the reason for them killing isekai’d people, some scenes being cut for time that will have relevance later on specially one about Ashuna and her sister. I also feel the anime doesn’t delve into Menou’s struggle as much as it should, since I noticed a lot of people think of her as just the “cold blooded assassin type” which to me it feels further from the truth to her character. I also appreciate that while Menou is capable, everyone else around her is as well, or just way stronger too. (Only times we get her to show off is against amateurs or people on the normal side of society)
I recommend the novels more since not only do you get better explanations and the cut content, but it is very unlikely we will get another season of the anime, which has an incredibly open end (it’s the same as the one in volume 2). The anime only covers 2 volumes out of 9 (currently). If you do not like to read I guess you can still give the anime a try.

After reading through 3 volumes, I can say that this song perfectly encapsulates the story of Virgin Road. This anime is a hidden gem in this season, so I recommend you to watch it.
Virgin Road is a grimdark fantasy reverse-isekai light novel series (yes, it is not an isekai slice-of-life). You follow Menou, a 'resident' of another world who has to 'deal' with Otherworlders who isekais into her world and starts destroying everything (paint the world a bit redder). This time, her mission is killing a girl named Akari with the power of Time and since it is strong enough to return from the death, Menou has to deceive Akari into traveling with her to find a way to end Akari's life. The tragedy is, if Menou can't help but killing Akari, Akari herself can't help but loving Menou either.
The novel is splitted into 2 parts. The first part is a bit slice-of-life yuri adventure, when you will have some world building and some juicy scene. The 2nd part is packed with supernatural action scenes and it is very interesting to read.

This OP is a straight banger and hopefully many people will be able to find the series "The Executioner and Her Way of Life" through this song. The mystical and adventurous vibes suits well for this series. The characters on the illustration are Menou and Akari who met in the fantasy world where Menou, a priestess, an executioner is bound to kill Akari who's an otherworlder from Japan.
[Light spoilers - for those who haven't watched this anime]
Akari holds a dangerous power called Pure Concept of [Time] which could wipe out a single town with ease and is immortal. To prevent that from happening, Menou the executioner sets out a journey with Akari in order to find a way to kill her.
The song itself literally retells the story with it's themes of time loop, salt, decomposing bodies, and death basically. The song is literally written with the anime/manga in mind.
That's the one thing I've always wondered about, do song writers write songs and producers just 'finds' and contracts them for their anime/shows, or are they contracted to 'create' one for said anime/shows?

I've been listening to this for a year now and 1:26 - 1:39 & 3:07 to the end are still my favorite parts. Just how all the instruments just collide together so well, guitar, violin and piano just sound so harmonizing, then the end someone said for the guitar just hits hard for a finisher.
