Dr. Conviser mentioned a patient, a musician, who used vibration to keep his hands flexible. Could you please tell me how you do that on the Power Plate? I have the personal one. I have some arthritis and inflammation in fingers and thumb joints and would love to know how I go about using the Power Plate for this. Thanks!
I have a plate that I been using to regenerate cartilage in my knees. Then I had hand surgery six months ago to repair a nerve that was severed. I sit at my plate and put my hand on my knee. The vibration transmits through to my hand. At age 82, another concern is to keep strength in the wrists. So, I intentionally use the plate to stimulate the bones in my hands and wrists.
Thank you for the information on whole body vibration. Heaps in the trading post. Some don't know the value of them. I got 2 under 40 dollars. I dont think the cheapest one could hurt u other than maybe setting a light if dont un plug it when not in use.
Would love comments on the less expensive plates. Guess mine is better than not having a high end plate to use. No measurements for hertz etc so wonder if slow movements , causing no noises is the way to go. Ranges from walking into jogging then running.
Thankyou for your video. I recently purchased a plate that has a maximum of 25 hertz. I purchased it for BMD as I have osteoporosis. I am worried the 25 hertz will be ineffective for bone building. Can you confirm this. Thankyou
You're welcome! Most of the studies on Bone Density & WBV that have produced good results have used a slightly higher frequency. While I suspect 25 Hz would convey many of the same benefits for bone density, I cannot say with certainty what the specifics of the training cycles should look like using that frequency.
Hello. I loved this video. I just found you today. I have been considering the Life Pro RumbleX 4D. I only discovered vibration plates because I get a discount with my Yoga Alliance Certification. I am so excited to have found them. I digress. That said, there is a huge price difference in the Rumble X and Power Plate. Should I just save my pennies and wait until I can get the Power Plate?
@shawna wyland - I have not tried the RumbleX 4D but from videos, it appears to be a centrally-pivoting vibration. This type of vibration is the least effective form of WBV. They are much more jarring, less comfortable, don't offer the same spectrum of benefits as vertical displacement or triplanar machines. It also takes 4-5 longer to achieve the benefits with centrally-pivoting vibration. Just look here: ua-cam.com/video/7bSmpuqKT_Q/v-deo.html If you skip to 3:18 and watch how his body moves on the machine. This unit has great reviews but any of the PowerPlate owners will tell that this movement looks NOTHING like the way your body moves on a PowerPlate. I am still looking for a less expensive machine that can do what the higher end machines can. But right now, my advice right now would be to save up and invest in a quality machine.
I have a Rumblex 4D. Absolutely delighted. You may want to look up what it really does. It often comes up on top of tests and it’s not as expensive as expected. Good luck !
Can you recommend a vibration plate that does not cost thousands of dollars like the Tri Planer? I have heard great things about the LifePro Waver which costs $150. I think most of us would like an affordable vibration plate in our homes. Would appreciate your feedback.
Sure thing, Rebecca! Customer support would be happy to email you some other recommendations. Just send an email request to support@painfixprotocol.com
What if someone has high blood pressure or even worse, blood clots? How safe vibration plates are in this case? or in case in an epileptic disorder, with myoclonus? I have all these conditions in my family.
Great questions. This is the only study I'm aware of that discusses whole body vibration and blood clotting. www.nature.com/articles/s41526-023-00338-4 It states " No significant warning signs towards an increased risk of undesired clotting and venous thrombosis were identified." That being said, if the clots are already present, this is likely a situation where you would steer clear out of an abundance of caution. Best to check with your doctor before proceeding.
Great question! A recent meta-analysis including 14 studies concluded that "...whole-body vibration had additional positive effects compared with strengthening exercises alone on pain, knee extensor muscle strength, and physical function in individuals with knee OA." Here's the link: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8963427/
Only problem I see with this interview is that the majority of the studies (that show benefits) are done with the seesaw motion. Reason for this is most likely that it is the G-forces that the body experiences that brings the be benefits. There is very little, if any, days on that the oscillating 3d motion has any benefits for muscle traing and bone density
Thanks for commenting. Triplanar vibration hasn't been around that long so yes, more research must be done. But, there is quite a bit of data demonstrating the benefits of linear whole body vibration. And that is equal or better to central-pivoting vibration is most instances (with the exception of balance training). Signorile did an excellent job reviewing the available research on WBV here - www.researchgate.net/publication/265599425_Whole_body_vibration_What%27s_the_most_effective_protocol
@@painfixprotocol so what do you say to vendors that day that all studies show that G-force (which can only be high in vertical displacement) is the most important factor? That it is the experiences increase in gravity that causes the most benefits in muscle gains and bone density. The study you linked to found that virtual displacement gave the most gain in bone density. I do not have the study right now but there is a review that finds that machines capable of delivering 10G gave the best results
Very interesting, can I ask a question re: cancer? Is whole body vibration appropriate for someone who has had a hysterectomy (10 weeks ago) due to cancerous cells?
Here's a systematic review that discusses that topic: www.researchgate.net/publication/327705916_Whole_body_vibration_exercise_in_the_management_of_cancer_therapy-related_morbidities_A_systematic_review
Good question, Cathy. Here are a couple articles on the subject: www.clinbiomech.com/article/S0268-0033(21)00119-4/abstract and pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34080095/ It's important to remember though, that no two fusion procedures are exactly alike so you should always check with your surgeon.
@@painfixprotocol thank you- I am six weeks out. Also, I am concerned about any potential damage to the prosthetic. That was not addressed. But the benefits seem so great for a 63 year old woman. I am going to ask my surgeon and I predict he will say no.
Hi! What I understood from different videos and referred articles is that, it is still quite a controversial topic and the top two machine manufacturers support their own studies and machines. I am leaning towards power plate and want to give it a try. My question here is, is it safe for a person(male) who has two artificial disks in the cervical spine and one at L4-5 level? Are there any studies done in the group with any kind of spinal surgeries like fusions or artificial disks? Please respond. Thank you in advance.
There are a few studies in these population groups that I'm aware of but not nearly enough to say with certainty. Plus, every spinal surgery is different so it would be very difficult to make recommendations. The best thing to do would be consult directly with your surgeon(s).
Thanks for this video. Have a few questions. 1) Now that people seem to experiencing heart problem/ strokes etc. due to the vaccination clotting the blood and athlete experience this even faster as their blood naturally circulates way faster then us without athlete activities. Would this not even contribute more using the powerplate to the faster blood circulation??? Question 2...I tried to read the comments with your replies but all your replies seem not to be visible. Is there a way I can change that??? Thanks a lot for any insights.
I'm not sure why my replies wouldn't be showing up for you. Strange. Whole body vibration definitely increases circulation and so anyone with clotting issues should check with their primary care provider before adding it to their fitness routine.
Most of them cost $150 to $300. Why is it that Clinton Rubin, Ph.D., says these plates are dangerous, while he sells the Maradyne Low Intensity Vibration Plate for $3200. I'm not spending this kind of money until it's proven that the Tony Little Vibration Plate that I have is dangerous.
This was great. I got an ABV plate and I love it. My husband (80) fractured his ankle 4 months ago. It is healing and I wondered if he can use it to build the bone? Thank you!!
So glad you enjoyed it! Vibration can be very effective for bone building. Whether or not it's appropriate for your husband's situation I'm not able to say. The best thing would be to check with his doctor.
I have never seen this in clinical practice. However, there is some research showing that low frequency WBV can suppress gastric motility. Importantly, this effect was discovered when people sat on the vibration platform - which is not recommended. Here's the link: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10812893/
Great information, thank you! My local health store has 3 different vibration "machines" that they allow customers to use free of charge. I'm sure they're not as sophisticated as the Power Plate but would they still be better than nothing or might it be a waste of my time? Thank you!
@Ginny Stebbins I would try them all out. The 3 types of vibration used for WBV machines each have a distinct feel. See which feels best to you and then check online to see what type of vibration that machine is using.
Having had both hips and one knee replaced my issue would be with the vibration loosening the prosthesis where it bonds to the bone. Is this a serious concern?
Great question @Peter Valvona - "The addition of whole-body vibration to a novel 24-week rehabilitation protocol after hip replacement surgery significantly improves functional performance, compared with exercise alone, according to the results of a randomized trial presented here at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) 56th Annual Meeting" - www.medscape.com/viewarticle/703818#:~:text=June%203%2C%202009%20(Seattle%2C,the%20American%20College%20of%20Sports
Great question @Megan Wildhood - They are both excellent tools and I regularly use both in my clinic. A wobble board is a low tech, cost effective way to train balance and stability. Whole Body Vibration is a much more sophisticated tool that offers many more options to vary the training input. Strong points of WBV include reducing pain levels, increasing muscle strength & power output and improving bone density.
I'm not sure what joint problems you're referring to @Jean Roses but, WBV has shown massive benefits for many joint-related conditions including recovery from joint replacement and osetoarthritis. It has been shown to reduce pain, increases muscle strength and mobility - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3764345/

The cost is 3k$-10k$. The cheapest has only 35 hz. Expensive has 30,35,40 hz. According to literature the 30 is warm up. 35 is exercise. 40 is recovery. So if you have osteoarthritis and injuries you won’t have the gentlest setting unless you spend a lot more. Without having a chance to try it I’m just averse to going into debt for something that may not operate in my range. Or is beyond my current ability level?
@Denise Bailey - Thanks for your comments! Where is the research that says these movements are most effective. Oscillation has been most studied by far and that is why almost every vibration platform has that feature included. These movements you're selling are not proven to be better than oscillation
Thanks for commenting. There are a few things here that need correction: 1. Very few high-quality vibration platforms employ this style of vibration. There are multiple reasons for this: A. It's the least comfortable type of vibration (tends to be jarring) B. It is the most limited in its application. Vertical displacement and real triplanar vibration produce consistently produce better results for almost every variable you can think of - bone density, strength, muscle mass, flexibility, etc. The one area where oscillation really tends to shine is when optimizing for balance training and fall prevention. 2. The main reason that oscillating platforms are so popular is because they are the easiest/east expensive to produce. 3. Depending on what a person is optimizing for - balance, bone density, strength, etc - movement with vibration may or may not be indicated. However, when training for strength, bone density, muscle muscle and flexibility most studies combine movement with vibration to help isolate and increase demand on target tissue. If you're interested, I summarize much of the available research here: painfixprotocol.com/fast-track-your-fitness/
There are a couple of less expensive vibration platforms that are very decent. If you email: support@painfixprotocol.com my team can send you some recommendations.

So perhaps whole body vibration could help me??
I'm healing from a slight fracture in my left foot for two months now. Would this help with my foot healing? Thanks.
Great question @Nora Monnet - there's not a lot of research on this subject - but, one study found " WBV is suggested to be beneficial in improving fracture healing in animals without safety problem reported." www.ecmjournal.org/papers/vol034/pdf/v034a08.pdf
I have read that the person should wait until the bone has healed. Please research so you don’t cause more harm or extended healing. 🎈
Amazom plates as low as $85..well worth it to.change your life and be able to walk.and move!!
Thanks for sharing!
Unfortunately, the majority of the really inexpensive plates on Amazon are low quality. There are one or two exceptions and anyone who's interested can send an email to support@painfixprotocol.com and get my recommendations for high-value vibration plates.
Dr. Conviser mentioned a patient, a musician, who used vibration to keep his hands flexible. Could you please tell me how you do that on the Power Plate? I have the personal one. I have some arthritis and inflammation in fingers and thumb joints and would love to know how I go about using the Power Plate for this. Thanks!
Sure thing, Gyl. I demonstrate some of that in this video ua-cam.com/video/uyHoOrFlo2w/v-deo.html You can skip to 6:29 for hand flexibility
@@painfixprotocol thank you so much! This will be very helpful 😊
@@painfixprotocol BTW. I’ve been doing your protocol for bone strength for the last year. I have another scan in April so we’ll see. 🤞🏻
Everybody tiptoes around on which machine to buy yet those of us that are in pain and on limited incomes would like to know please what machine we can buy.. I know that dr. Yonl works on the power plate move... That plate cost just under $3,000.. now is there another plate out there that can be beneficial yet maybe will cost half that. There are so many plates out there.. there has to be one out there for seniors that are on limited incomes. Many of us cannot get an appointment with either one of you guys but come on ,give us something that we can do at home to help ourself get out of this discomfort and pain... In my area there are no doctors or therapist around here who even deal with these vibrating machines and we need help. One of my friends gifted me with a vibrating machine that she purchased from home shopping and it's an nice machine but I do not want to be on the wrong machine. I have it set on 1 according to the directions from the doctor on home shopping. I will buy another one to help myself but I don't want to waste money because I don't have directions. Kindly please.. give me directions on what type of machine to buy or will the one I have be ok and if not I will do what I can to get the other machine that doctor Yoni has.. please help me.. and thank you
Hi Lydia, I am so happy the interview was helpful for you. Choosing the right type of platform is a very important decision. And that should be driven by your individual goals. If you email support@painfixprotocol.com my team will be able to help you out.
@@painfixprotocol thank you for getting back to me.. right now I just want to know what machine to purchased that is similar to the one that you stand on but is not $3,000. Once I have instructions on the machine and can purchase it then maybe I can enroll in the class but I want to buy the machine first and I don't want to buy a machine that is not going to help me..
@@painfixprotocol Many sincere thanks.
I have a Rumblex 4D. Absolutely delighted. You may want to look up what it really does. It often comes up on top of tests and it’s not as expensive as expected. Good luck !
Wondering how long should we stand on the power plate? How often???
Here you can see a summary of the settings used in various studies as it relates to various outcomes: painfixprotocol.com/fast-track-your-fitness/
I’m using a waver, after 15 minutes on it I felt like I had a great massage. If you can afford it, perhaps research the Rumblex 4 D ?
Would this be good with RLS? I have RLS badly, have tried many medications for it...none seem to work/help.
Great thought! There is some research showing WBV is effective for RLS. It's an interesting subject and I plan to share that data in a future video.
What if someone has high blood pressure or even worse, blood clots? How safe vibration plates are in this case? or in case in an epileptic disorder, with myoclonus? I have all these conditions in my family.
Great questions. This is the only study I'm aware of that discusses whole body vibration and blood clotting. www.nature.com/articles/s41526-023-00338-4
It states " No significant warning signs towards an increased risk of undesired clotting and venous thrombosis were identified." That being said, if the clots are already present, this is likely a situation where you would steer clear out of an abundance of caution. Best to check with your doctor before proceeding.
The vibration platform helps with circulation so it can help with blood pressure, perhaps consult your md.
So what better whole body vibration or rebounding ?
They are both good tools but they do very different things. Which one a person chooses will be determined by what they're trying to accomplish.
So would 35 Hz be a good starting point? I purchased a plate that could be go up to about 90 Hz; I assumed that more was better. Is this incorrect?
Please give me your thoughts about using the Power Plate Move with bone on bone knees.
Great question! A recent meta-analysis including 14 studies concluded that
"...whole-body vibration had additional positive effects compared with strengthening exercises alone on pain, knee extensor muscle strength, and physical function in individuals with knee OA."
Here's the link: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8963427/
@@painfixprotocol Thank you! Helpful information.
I have loose skin on triceps from weight loss !
Would this vibration technology help with tightening this area ?
Specific moves ??
I haven't seen any research on using vibration for skin tightening. But some tightening tends to occur slowly over time on its own.
Can a person with a pacemaker use these machines? Thanks.
Good question @M Nixon - Power Plate has created a video to answer your question: ua-cam.com/video/9UQ5kplbO-4/v-deo.html
I have two spinal fusions. Would WBV be contraindicated? Would WBV loosen the hardware? I also have a fusion in my neck.
Good question, Cathy.
Here are a couple articles on the subject: www.clinbiomech.com/article/S0268-0033(21)00119-4/abstract
and pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34080095/
It's important to remember though, that no two fusion procedures are exactly alike so you should always check with your surgeon.
Is this okay for someone with a hip replacement? Thanks!
Here's an article all about that - www.medscape.com/viewarticle/703818
Great question! I have a video in the works that will answer this in detail. Stay tuned!
Can this exercise cause stomach pain or diarrhea? 😮

Thanks 👍
Rookie question: is a power plate better than a wobble board or are they different enough that both are useful?
They both would help a lot with improving balance, but the vibration plate would also tend to exercise more of your body than the board would.
Now i want to try my wobble board and bosu on my power plate
I've read that if you have joint problems, a vibrational plate is not for you
I'm not sure what joint problems you're referring to @Jean Roses but, WBV has shown massive benefits for many joint-related conditions including recovery from joint replacement and osetoarthritis. It has been shown to reduce pain, increases muscle strength and mobility - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3764345/
@@painfixprotocol I have "chronically sprained s.i. joints, easily inflamed by irritation of the illio-psoas muscle (Illiacus); I can't lay on my back without pain in the s,i. joints. Thanks for the link
I am not sure where you're getting your pricing and specs from but, the Power Plate MOVE has an operational frequency range of 30-40Hz (with 6 options in between) and for the Easter Sale the cost is $2,395 + FREE Shipping!
